Best Remote I've Used Thus Far!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's extremely easy to setup and controls my entire Home Theater system with ease. I was able to integrate the remote with my Lutron Casteta in-wall switches, so adding light control to activities was a snap. All in all a fantastic remote control that is well worth it's asking price.

Easy and Fast Setup - Fantasic - A Must Have
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't believe all the stories that the remote is difficult and time consuming to setup. It took me about 15 minutes to setup my TV, Hopper, Receiver and DVD. I'm also able to use my Google Chrome cast to watch, YouTube and other programing from my phone or laptop. Play games, this is the remote for you. A must before you start setup, make a list of the brands and model number of all your electronics and read the setup instructions carefully. As with all new things, it'll take a bit of time to get use to the number of features this control commands. Using this remote is intuitive, so the learning curve is fast. After using this remote you'll ask yourself, why didn't I get this remote a long time ago? The best part of this remote, you can put away the two or three remotes needed to control your electronics. This remote is worth every penny. I highly recommend purchasing one.

Updated Review
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am updating my earlier review after having had some time to use the remote. I originally gave this remote 1 star because of the MyHarmony software and Logitech's server was down so my remote was bricked after trying to sync. After using a HarmonyOne for several years this remote does take some getting used to. Button placement is different, but with the touch and swipe commands on the touch screen most of the button presses are unnecessary. The software is still a problem. There are too many problems to list here. It looks like an Alpha release to me. Some of the functions can't have been tested because they work so badly. I was able to do most of what I needed to do, but it took a lot longer than should have been necessary. If they get the software fixed and bring a backup server online I will give it 5 stars.

Ultimate Home Remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up is very easy, I programmed 9 devices in my man cave with the greatest of ease using my PC. Had some problems with my Dish Network Joey accepting commands from the remote, simple fix was to go into the settings on the joey and enabling IR. Problem solved. I have two separate TV's in the same room and remote operates both separately. App does work ok for operating as a remote, It did crash when it tried to synch, hopefully they will put out a patch soon for the android app. It only occurred when changing the setup via the app, the remote part of the app worked fine for all devices. There was no issue with delays when pushing the buttons. I am returning this remote however because I want the more expensive Elite version. This remote works fine!

Logitech does it again! Simply the best remote!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Logitech continues to impress with an updated version to the Harmony Ultimate. Let me mention I have owned now 6 different Harmony remotes for my home theater set up and I will never buy anything else. They are the most impressive and intuitive devices you could ever buy and they are worth every penny. Now integrating Home devices into the mix including my new Smart Things set up and Nest, it is even better. First let me clarify something, the set up could not be easier and now that you can program the entire remote from your smart phone or tablet, it is even easier. The first thing to remember, ensure your phone or tablet is on the same WiFi network as your Hub and it is a breeze. I set up my entire system and home devices in 30 minutes and with the blasters, moving from a Harmony Ultimate to this remote it is just as innovative. They control your entire set up through cabinet doors and this thing is smooth. It even controls my Sonos Playbar and surround speakers. Now word of advice, if you think you are going to keep your Harmony Ultimate and buy just the Hub to control home devices too you are wrong. Loitech is smart and you would have to upgrade to this system to be able to control home devices. Trust me, I looked into this. As for price, yes expensive but to not have 10 remotes on your coffee table cluttering up your set up? That is worth every penny!

Nice accessory for a dedicated media room
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received the Harmony Ultimate Home remote as a gift over the holidays. I had been looking for a closed cabinet control remote for nearly a year after purchasing equipment for a dedicated media room. The touch screen and backlit keys of this (more expensive) model are beneficial for a room with a projector and little to no ambient light. I would go with the cheaper remote - without the touch screen and backlit keys - for a family room or living room with windows, light and a LCD/LED TV. I rated it good b/c it doesn't always work on the first press of the command (i.e. Watch TV). Occasionally I have to hit the command a 2nd or 3rd time or there are times in which I have to specifically activate one of the devices that did not power on during the sequence. It's an expensive tool but the universal remote Magnolia originally quoted me was more expensive. The setup process using the PC and wireless network was quick and easy. It's a huge improvement from my setup with open cabinets and pointing to the side of the room over a couch. I can see the buttons and channels with no light in the room and the response time on the remote as the same as my cable remotes in other rooms.

Best universal remote I have used so far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great remote, accommodates lots of devices, controls many automation devices that can control lights, dimmers, easy to set up & create many activities, my only criticism is using the screen, buttons are small and it is easy to press the wrong button, otherwise very happy with this remote

Great Remote/Buggy Software
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a fantastic remote and probably the best option for the regular consumer. My complaints are that the battery life is too short and it dies without much warning. Also, the software/firmware updates can be finicky, and sometimes functions get messed up in the process.

Not worth the $
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I cannot believe this thing sells for $350. I received this free from Logitech because the previous model I had battery blew up. The touch screen is the worst idea conceived. There in no longer a number pad. You have to use the touch screen. About 1 out of 5 times when you press the screen it doesn't select what you pressed. It swipes the screen to the next screen. When it does actually register the selection the delay is excruciatingly long and you end up pressing it twice. It is a standard 1 second delay from when you press a button and when it registers. At least once every 2-3 days the remote completely freezes up. Typically while your in the middle of fast forwarding is when this happens so your whole show fast forwards to the end. Actual physical buttons are hard to tell if they register or not. The design of the remote itself is horrible. It is not flat on the bottom so it rocks on flat surfaces. If it's sitting on something flat you cannot really press the buttons. You have to physically hold the remote to use it. The pause, fast forward and rewind buttons are above the touch screen so when you use them your palm below your thumb touches the screen and presses buttons. Again, this thing sells for $350. I would seriously expect to pay $25 for this product. The only value I will admit to is every electronic I searched for with a remote you can program into it. Bottom line, would not buy again, would not recommend

Excellent Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing. Some found the setup easy and others found it difficult. I was in the middle. I never used a universal remote before this product and found it took several tries to program all of the devices properly. Once you get the hang of it, it is really easy to program. I programmed all 5 remotes including a vintage NAD receiver and NAD CD. Not all of the buttons on the NAD receiver worked but that is not a problem if you still have the original IR remote. You simply use the old remote to program directly into the new Harmony remote. I especially liked the ability to program different components with one touch. For example, you can program your TV with surround sound or without if you have a separate surround sound system that is IR controlled. The same goes for a sound bar, subwoofer, etc. I was also able to program my iPhone, ASUS tablet and Samsung Nook. My review is limited to audio/video only as I don't have any of the other devices (lights, heater) that this device is capable of programming. Product no. 915-000237. There are other Harmony products with different product numbers so be careful when you purchase this product.

Nice idea - terrible execution
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used many of the older Harmony products for many years with great success. I have a 620, a Harmony "one", and several older infrared only models. I had a need to hide a bunch of components, so I needed remotes that did RF....so I started with a pair of Ultimates. Both have now been replaced twice, one with a ultimate home. Here are my issues: 1. The remote in the middle of doing anything frequently just stops responding to commands. When this happens I need to get my smart phone out, open the app, then the remote starts responding again - (at least twice a day) 2. I frequently need to hard reboot the remote to get it communicating to the hub. 3. One of the remotes about a year after replacement is now having battery issues and I can't replace the battery in a sealed compartment. Logitech customer support has been of no help other than shipping me replacement remotes, which is getting quite irritating now. I am now shopping for replacements for my Logitech remotes....which is quite unfortunate.

Controls All my Equipment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded from a Harmony 880 using the trade-in plan. It was a good way to update my aging remote to the newest technology. Installation is about as easy has Logitech can make it, but it still isn't anything a technology challenged person will want to undertake. You must know the make model of all of your equipment and how they operate together. But there is no getting around this reality. I chose to install this in a room where I have a 46" Sony Bravia, a Blu-Ray player, DVD recorder, Apple TV, TiVo and Nintendo Wii. It probably took me about 45 minutes in all to set things up and configure the remote. The Apple TV was a little reluctant, but the instructions anticipated that possibility and directed me in successfully solving the problem. I like the companion app for my iOS devices. It allows me to control the room from whichever device is most convenient for me. I can even control it all from another room. Overall, This is a really nice controller, but I would recommend that people who find technology a bit frustrating or difficult, ask for help with the configuration.

Slick Operation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace an existing Harmony Touch, primarily for the IR blaster which will allow it to function through closed cabinet doors. I only needed one of the two included IR blasters; the hub was able to reach most of the components separated by the cabinet walls. I was able to seamlessly download the configuration for my existing devices and activities for the old remote. This model can be used with an app for the IPhone and IPad. When using the remote and app on both the IPad and IPhone, all three devices kept in sync with each other. The apps are interesting, but a little buggy. I prefer the remote over the apps. The new remote can also operate several other devices, the only one of which I have is the Nest thermostat, and it does this successfully. The remote's help feature will offer to switch any commands that are not working properly from the IR mode back to the regular remote mode (NOTE: any such changes you make away from IR mode will no longer function on the apps which need the IR mode), which may come in handy with my troublesome Vizio TV due to its own inherent bugs.

Great but not perfect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned several Harmony remotes with the "One" being my absolute favorite. The worst was the 1100 LCD screen one. The Ultimate had a very easy set up via my Smartphone. Be sure to get the package with the 2 IR blasters or you will be miserable. You do need wifi for this hub and system to work. I only had to teach it two commands out of the 5 devices I programmed. You can tweak the order for powering up and delay between commands. So if your tv or component is not powering up correctly due to a slow powering up process you can fix that. Just remember to re-sync your remote / Hub after any updated function. I wish I could add / delete icons on the remote LCD screen and app but I have yet to figure that out. I have no DVR icon while using the app so I added a finger gesture to launch the DVR from the app. This remote isn't perfect but best yet since the Harmony One - the $270 1100 was a glorified paper weight I had to resist smashing into 1100 pieces!

Works fine, but bad design, hassle with setting up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hoping to replace my Harmony One with a sleeker device, and this is definitely not it. First and foremost, the layout for physical buttons don't work for my hands. They should be located below the touch screen, I don't want to have to look at my remote when making simple entries. For me, the touch screen is fine, but clunky to use as a system control, and I can't seem to use it with one hand. With saying that, why does this system even come with a remote control anyway, when I can use my phone or tablet? The software app works well, and if you have the base set up with the IR blasters, it makes the remote worthless. Good luck intuitively trying to figure out how to set the remote to even emit IR signals - search under google. Speaking of software, why in the heck to I have to download another desktop software to get this thing set up? Why can't I just plug and go like all the other Harmony remotes I've had? So, now you have to have separate software on your tablet, phone, desktop, that ultimately connect together and work - it's just a friggin' hassle. Plus a different USB connector! Why? Frustrating. Benefits - if you have an enclosed space, and want to control PS3 or Wii (for example), this device will do it all. Be ready to have an extra outlet for the base station, and on all the time. If you're used to the old style of Harmony, and looking to upgrade, this is not it. I don't need the full 30 days to know this is not for me...

Much better than I expected
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have been a Harmony 1 fan for years. This one was on sale via a price match so what the heck. Controlling multiple components including a number of Lutron dimmers as well as fans. Simple to set up. Simple to use. Simple. But also very effective. My wife is very happy as she can run the remote. Having the Hub be the source of all the commands makes it much easier than having to point your remote at the device - particularly pesky with the light and fan controllers. Controls 75" 4K HDR Sony 940D TV, Marantz AV7702mkII Pre-pro, Samsung UBD-K8500/ZA 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player, Oppo 103D Blu-ray Player Darbee Edition, Mirage HDT Home-Theater Speaker System (LCR [OM-5s for L&R, HDT-F for center], SR, SL, SBR, SBL [HDT-Rs]), Dual SVS PB12-Plus Subs; Outlaw Audio Model 7900 Power Amp, AudioControl BijouTM THX® Equalizer, Rega RP1 Turntable, Dual Panamax M5300-PM Power Conditioners, Dual Monster Power HTS 2500 Power Conditioners, Dual Monster Power HDP 1800 Power Conditioners, Clearplay Blu-ray Player, Motorola DCX3200 HD cable receiver & Logitech Harmony Elite Remote. The included RF blasters make that easy pickins. Very highly recommended,

Perfect Solution to Eliminating Remotes
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This remote does everything as advertised. Setup is a breeze, especially if you have all of your components connected to your wifi. It will automatically load all the components that it recognizes on your network. Once you set up your activities, it becomes a one button process to switch between TV, Streaming player (roku, apple tv), listening to music, watching netflix, etc. So nice to have my coffee table back.

The best remote control available
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this remote to replace my aging Harmony 900. I was worried about this remote being able to have the same amount of features as my old 900 since the remote is much smaller and has about half of the buttons of the old remote. I can say that this remote does everything the old 900 did and much more! The setup was pretty simple, I just migrated the settings from my old 900 to the new remote and did some slight tweaking from there to fit the new remotes functionality. This remote responds much faster than the 900 and the range is also better with the harmony hub vs the ir blasters on the 900. The touch screen is a joy to use and the battery life is great. I would highly recommend this remote to anyone with a complicated home theater setup.

Very good Remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Stronger than your typical IR remotes and can read any device just about. I use it for my XBOX, and my TV setup. Things start without a hitch and if they don't, it is easy to resolve with the HELP feature.
