Needs more R&D
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. They feel nice and the lenses are really good. Yet the sound and using it feel off. Unfortunately although they look cool but just don't feel cool. The charger has to be connected on both arms independently. So if by chance like it happens to me one arm didn't stay on you are left with only one speaker working . It would have been nice if you just charged both speakers from one arm . Two buttons on the Frame again 1 on each arm. Just to turn on and off. You can't control your music from the glasses . Then the speakers itself are not that good . I understand that since they are not in your ear it will sound a little flat. Yet I have had other types of audio devices with similar tech and they sound better .

Looks great, sounds great!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ordered these, expecting grey lenses in a matte frame… what arrives? Iridium red-looking lenses in a piano-black glossy frame! Very chic! Synced to my phone without even needing instructions. Glasses arrived with a full charge. Put them on and went out to finish my Xmas shopping. Was out for two hours with my music drowning out the stores’ background music. Got back home, popped the magnetic chargers on the glasses, and now I’m ready to go again! These are some seriously sweet eyewear! No pressure on the nose or at the temples. These feel like $$$ fitted frames. Audio quality is quite good. Similar to headphones in the $60-$90 price range. No bass to brag about, but really clean midrange. Highs are a tad tin sounding. These honestly aren’t bad, especially if you are using them to provide background music or a podcast while running errands or working out. For a brand new company, these are a valiant first product, and I look forward to them having a long life and even better products in the future!

Stylish, comfortable, great for voice, but…
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Review for Lucyd - Lyte Bluetooth Audio Sunglasses - Eclipse These smart glasses look so great, wear so nice, and have so many other positives, that I really wanted to like them more, but the music quality is, sadly, just not very good. As my review title says, voice audio is great - sharp and clear - but the lack of ANY bass makes listening to music simply disappointing. I really liked them for making and taking phone calls, and imagine they would be great for listening to podcasts. In fairness, I played with my phone’s music EQ settings and found that putting on “loudness,” “bass boost,” or “treble reduce” all made for a better music listening experience. In the plus column, these shades are excellent sun glasses, with quality, polarized lenses, that can be swapped out for a wide variety of alternatives, as well as prescription lenses. The frames are rated IP-56 for water and dust proof protection. This means they are splashproof, although they cannot be submerged, and should not have sound quality compromised by dust. The 6.5-8 hours of active listening battery life is spectacular; some other manufacturers give you two hours, tops. Finally, the electronics are built into the temple pieces separately; there is no wiring needed through the hinges to connect them. While this may seem unimportant, I personally had to toss another maker’s smart glasses because of a hinge wiring failure - the audio stopped in one ear and stopped charging.

Nice Audio Sunglasses!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Lucyd - Lyte Bluetooth Audio Sunglasses are a nice, simple to use set of audio sunglasses. They come with the sunglasses, a charging cord that connects to both arms, charging block to plug the charging cord into, a nice foldable leather hard case, a microfiber glasses bag and a microfiber cleaning cloth. A simple set of written instructions is also included. I like the simplicity of these glasses. There is no App to download. You just turn them on, select Lucyd Lyte in the Bluetooth settings on your phone and the sunglasses immediately pair to your phone. From that point on, they pair to your phone automatically as soon as you power them on. You can select the music you want to play from your phone, after which, from your sunglasses you can control volume, play/pause, skip forward or backward a track, answer or disconnect calls, and access your phone voice assistant. There is a small button on the bottom of each arm that you click in various combinations to access these functions. I like the fact they are actual buttons that you click, as opposed to swiping or tapping on the arms, like some wireless earphones or other audio glasses. I think this makes it easier to control them. I feel like they are a nice looking set of sunglasses. I have seen some other audio sunglasses that have very large sections on the arms where the speaker are located. With the Lucyd Lyte, they have a little bigger arms than a non-audio set of sunglasses, but it's really not a noticeable difference when you have them on and there is no one section of the arm that is bigger or sticks out at all. I am most excited to be able to wear these while bicycling. I love the fact I can listen to music with these sunglasses on, but since there is no piece that goes in your ears, you can still hear other sounds around you or if someone talks to you. It will be significantly safer to ride with these on than to have wireless earbuds that block out all surrounding noise. They will be great for the beach or walking/sitting outside. The only situation I can think of where they won't work is for mowing or using other loud outside powered equipment, as that type of noise would drown out the music. The buttons on the arms are very convenient in location, as they are on the bottom side of the arms and close to the front, so it will be easy to reach up and click when needed while riding my bike. They are also light weight and very comfortable for extended wear times. The lenses are polarized UV400 lenses. They are also adaptable for prescription lenses. As for the sound, I have used them to listen to music from a variety of genres, loud and soft music, male and female singers and acoustic music. I feel they have pretty good sound for audio sunglasses. If you have never listened to audio sunglasses you may be a bit disappointed in the sound at first. As one would expect from this type of technology, you don't get much bass, as there is just no place for them to put a larger bass driver. However, I have listed to a variety of audio sunglasses brands and I feel these compare very well to the sound of the other audio sunglasses I have tried. Other than a lack of any significant bass, they are very clear and have good treble and midrange. The sound is better than you would think with no actual speaker stuck in your ear. I was pleasantly surprised how good they sound on phone calls. If your phone rings you can just double click either button to answer and also hang up, or you can decline calls or put one on hold to answer a second one and toggle back and forth. I can hear the callers very well and they have said they can hear me well also, as if I was talking on my phone. The microphone is noise-cancelling. The box says they will run for 6.5 - 8.0 hours when fully charged. I haven't run them long enough at one time to test that. My only complaint would be that I wish they had a function where you could click to have it tell you what percent of battery life you have left. I have used them for a couple hours at a time, but I usually recharge them before my next use to be safe, since I can't see or hear how much battery life is left. Overall, I am very happy with the look, function and sound of these audio sunglasses. If you have been considering a set of audio sunglasses, you can't go wrong with the Lucyd Lyte Bluetooth Audio Sunglasses.

Surprised
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very impressed with these smart(?) sunglasses. The sounds is not as good as a earbud/headset, but also this is open ear so there is a definitive advantage there if you need to hear ambient noise. People next to you will be able to hear the speaker, so don't have private conversations in public, could be uncomfortable for you and those around you. :D These appear to be pretty durable, they have a IP56 rating, so a little wet won't hurt. I am concerned with the buttons on the frame, they appear mechanical so remote control could be compromised the older they get. The glasses have quality optics, the lenses appear to have some scratch resistance to them, I would still avoid laying them lens down though. Sound quality is really good for a external speaker. They will not deafen you, but will cover some background noises if you want them to get that loud. Overall happy with the glasses.

Look great with Stereo sound!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my review of the lucyd lyte e-glasses. I decided to try these glasses to hopefully solve a few problems for me. I wanted to have a way to listen to music while I walked my dogs, and I wanted to still be able to hear things in my surroundings like cars and other dogs. I believe the lucyd lyte solves both for me and they come in a great looking package. First off I would like to say the lyte's look quite fashionable. I looked at other small speakers that are open air, however, most are either something you can tether to your waist or a neck speaker. The waist mounted models are bulky and the neck units are cool, but you look kinda silly wearing them. Also, I'm not sure if the waist mounted models are very weather resistant. The lucyd lyte e-glasses are IP56 water resistant and due to their design not at all bulky. The sound comes from two small speakers in the arms of the glasses, they provide stereo sound. The sound quality itself is a lot better than a cellphone speaker. It is not necessary to turn the volume up real loud in order to hear it really well. So when you are near other people most people can't even hear what you are listening to. And they will not be able to make out any noise whatsoever if the environment is a little noisy. Its a discreet method of listening to music or a podcast, etc... The comfort of the lucyd lyte e-glasses is quite well. I can wear these glasses for hours and I don't feel like they are any different than a regular pair of sunglasses. The wearability is very close to the standard run of the mill pair of shades. I like how thin the arms are, I don't think anyone will notice that these are smart glasses unless you tell them. As far as the utility of the glasses they are UV 400 polarized. So if the battery dies, you still have a pair of working sunglasses. I personally have a few minor complaints, first of all when you turn on the lucyd lytes you need to turn on both sides separately. I believe this is due mostly to the design the bridge of the glasses. But strangely enough only one side is needed to turn them off,... weird but I'm no expert. Also, I think it would be nice if the lucyd lyte team could figure out a way to add just a little more bass to sound. Once again, I think its due to the design of the unit, the arms are mostly battery and to keep them as small as possible I believe the design team had to make sacrifices. Maybe the team will read my review and consider that for the next generation. Overall, I must say I like my lucyd lyte e-glasses. They solve the problems I had flawlessly. And I look real good sporting these, if I do say so myself!! I honestly only have the two minor complaints about the lyte's so I would say if you are finding yourself in need of these. Go ahead a grab a pair they are excellent! And surprisingly if you have prescription lenses you can get these in prescription lenses as well!

High quality but limited music reproduction
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First impression: My first impression of the Lucyd Lyte wireless e-glasses is that they are solid and very well made. The packaging is very nice, strong, and the glasses and accessories are protected very well. The e-glasses come with a soft carry bag, a nice collapsible hard case, lint-free cleaning cloth, instructions, and the proprietary charger. Initial Setup: The first step in setting up the glasses is to charge them. Initial charge time was over 1 hour but less than 2. I don’t have an exact time as I let them charge while I was doing other things. The instructions say it is a 2-hour charge. The charging system is a proprietary charger that uses USB Type A for the feed and magnetic surface mount connectors on the glasses. Personally, I am not bothered by a proprietary charger, because the other option is Micro USB and I don’t like using those at all. The charger is held in place magnetically and does a great job holding in place. Once you disconnect the charging cables for the first time, the glasses immediately go into pairing mode. I really like this, because if you bought these glasses, then you are most likely going to pair them; so why not just do it and be done with it. The pairing process was wonderfully easy. It went into pair mode, my Android found it right away, it asked to be paired, I said yes, and I was on my way. Only if all Bluetooth pairings were this easy. Performance: I tested these glasses using Apple Music. I chose a wide variety of genres to fully test the quality, because having such a small speaker, I was concerned about sound quality and its ability to produce low frequency. I started with some Simon & Garfunkel, Randy Newman, Philip Glass, and Dave Grusin. Then I went to work out type music with B-52s, Beastie Boys, George Clinton, Gap and, and Crystal Method. Finally, I played hip-hop and metal. Some people say the audio from these glasses is horrible. I completely disagree. The audio is actually clean and crisp. The problem is that there is zero music in the mid and low frequencies. All the music is in the high frequency range, with a pretty drastic cutoff at the midrange frequencies. When playing songs like LL Cool J’s “Going Back to Cali”, it was weird not having any of the low frequencies. But what is produced is actually very high quality. Is this a problem? Well, that depends. If you are looking for a set of Bluetooth e-glasses with audiophile quality audio reproduction, then you should pass these glasses up. But to be fair, these are not advertised as audiophile e-glasses, nor are they priced in the audiophile price range. If I pay $5000 for a McIntosh MC275 amplifier, I expect to be blown away with quality and accurate sound. But if I pay $150 for an amplifier, I don’t expect and cannot expect the same quality sound. I believe these glasses are exactly as marketed, and what they did with these glasses, they did well. Conclusion: I like these e-glasses. They are comfortable, attractive, and extremely easy to set up and use. The proprietary charging system is easy to use and charges in a decent time. The musical quality is good but not full range. And the hard-sided carry case protects the glasses and collapses to a thin shape for easy carrying. If you want a good quality, attractive set of e-glasses and are not looking for low frequency but quality music and ease of use, then I highly recommend these glasses.

One to consider
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lucyd - Lyte Bluetooth Audio Sunglasses - Eclipse Included- 1 pair of audio sunglasses, charging cable, hard storage case, travel pouch, wall adapter, and cleaning cloth The Lucyd Lyte Bluetooth Audio Sunglasses includes some nice accessories and have many features, which makes them highly competitive with their more expensive competitors. While I was unpacking the sunglasses, I was very impressed with all of the included accessories. The hard sided folding case has a magnetic closure and folds flat when it's not in use which makes for good storage. The soft travel pouch is great to protect the sunglasses when you don't need the hard case. (The hard case does not fit into the pouch.) I appreciate that the cable is USB-C and also includes a wall adapter for those who do not have it built into their home. The cleaning cloth will keep the lenses clean and clear. Once you initially unbox the sunglasses, you need to fully charge them. The charging cable splits into two strands and each end magnetically attaches to the arms. A red light shows on both arms that it's charging and then turns off when fully charged. When you disconnect the charger, the glasses automatically turn on. I don't love that part because sometimes after I use them and want to charge them again for the next time, I don't want them on when its done and I'm putting them away. Pairing the sunglasses was super easy. Just hold down both little silver buttons underneath the arms until you hear "power on" or skip ahead if they've just been disconnected from the charger and find "Lucyd Lyte" in your bluetooth menu. The Lucyd Lyte Audio Sunglasses offers audio, microphone, calls and bluetooth. The control buttons are very easy to work. Tap the left button to lower the volume one notch and the right button to raise it. You can double tap either button to play/pause the music. There is even a triple tap to on the left to go back a track and on the right to skip ahead. I appreciate that a lot because those are all basic controls that I want to have while I'm listening to music so I don't have to operate my phone to do it. For phone calls, you can double tap to answer a call and hold it down for two seconds to decline one. To hang up, double tap either button. And you can even quick press to switch between calls if you're on one and there is an incoming call. If you want to activate voice assistance, hold either button down for two seconds to activate and then repeat to cancel. The sunglasses will connect to most phones, PCs and smartwatches within a 50 ft range. As for fit and comfort, they are alright. From the front, they look like ordinary sunglasses but from the sides, the arms are still pretty thick and chunky. It would be less noticeable on someone with long hair that hangs over the arms but if you have short hair, it will defintely be more obvious. The arms are also somewhat wide and didn't fit my small face the best. I also had problems with them sliding down my flat nose. As for sound, it was okay. It was horrible but I wasn't exactly impressed either. I also had some issues with the music cutting out randomly once in a while for no reason. Overall, if you're looking for a pair of more affordable audio sunglasses, the Lucyd Lytes are ones to consider.

Mixed Feelings
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, the Lucyd Lyte sunglasses do what they are advertised to do. As sunglasses, they work fine. As headphones, well, they work. First let me address the sunglasses aspect. They look nice and work well at being sunglasses. However, I find the build quality to be lacking. I haven't had an issue with them, but they don't give a feeling of confidence when it comes to the build. As headphones, that's more complicated. They do work as expected. The sound quality isn't very good but I never expected it to be. With the speakers not being directly in your ear, you really can't expect much for sound quality. That said, I did find them louder than I thought they would be. But keep in mind that even at lower volumes, anyone even remotely close to you will be able to hear everything coming out of them. I will say that I found the phone call quality very good. So at the end of the day I can recommend them, but just barely. If they were built to a quality matching their price I'd have no complaints at all.

Comfy frames, terrible audio
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Lucyd Lyte Bluetooth audio sunglasses have comfortable frames, unfortunately that's about all they have going for them. The frames come boxed with a power cable, a nice storage case, and a cleaning cloth. Each side has a small button that acts as the play/pause, power, pair, voice assist etc. The small underpowered speakers point upward over the ears, and the sides of the glasses are noticeably big. The charging cable is a royal pain to connect to the frames, its too short and each side has to be plugged into a very weak magnetic cable. The cable is Y shape and doesn't give you much slack, so you can guess why its hard to get it to stay connected. Once I managed to charge the glasses, I connected them to my iPhone and tested out the audio. There is no dedicated app that you need, or any extra features other than music and voice control. You can use these on a call, but I wouldn't recommend it. The audio quality is bad, really bad. Part of the problem is the way the speakers are angle, the other part is they just sound very low quality. There is no bass at all, almost no range between highs and lows, and everything sounds distorted and muffled. But the biggest problem, everyone around you can hear what you're listening to. You're better off just using your phone speaker, as it sounds a lot better. Overall, I appreciate what the Lucid Lyte Bluetooth glasses are trying to do, unfortunately they didn't execute them very well. While these are very comfortable frames, the poor audio quality and the bad cable management are enough to deter me from buying the frames. I would not recommend these to anyone.

Nicely done
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice fitting glasses. I like the shade of the glasses and the tint. Charging and pairing is seamless. Receiving a call works well. Sound is clear and the other person hears me just fine. Music, very tinny. But, what do you expect. Plus, people around you can hear it. Not too bad, overall. 5 stars for the design and function. 4 stars for speaker sound.

Lucyd - lyte bluetooth audio sunglasses
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks great and feels great. Sounds a bit tinny and minimal bass. Sunglasses work great and are of good quality. Charging cable leaves little to be desired. Have to connect charging cable to both ear pieces. Magnets aren’t as strong as I’d like for the charging cables. I’d hope that charging would have been a snap. The audio definitely should be better. If you aren’t a bass person, then these would be fine.

For Sun and Sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Lucyd - Lyte Bluetooth Audio Sunglasses - Eclipse is a US based company's entry into what I call the Sound and Sun market. The company is based in Miami Florida, a city that knows both sun and sound very well. The styling of the Eclipse model is both modern and stylish. If you wear Rx lenses, no problemo man. These well made frames were made for prescription lenses. Speaking of lenses the optics are top notch UV and polarized lenses. The polarization is very good. I didn't notice any halo affect as is apt to happen with lesser quality lenses. EZ to pair with your Blurooth device. The connection was almost instantaneous. The controls are on the side peaches and easy to get used to. The sound is loud and clear but the Lucyd - Lyte Bluetooth Audio Sunglasses - Eclipse is a little lacking in the lower frequencies. There's bass, don't get me wrong, but not as intense as some might like. But with a 7 day money back guarantee you've nothing to lose. Chances are you'll keep em and love em. Whether on the beach, poolside or out and about the Lucyd - Lyte Bluetooth Audio Sunglasses - Eclipse will not disappoint. Cheers!

Nice styling, functionality could be improved.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are a nice pair of good-looking sunglasses with style in mind. The frames and lenses are sharp and definitely fit into the trendy category. I like the mirrored lenses. Arms of the glasses are a little bulky near the ears but of course this is where all of the electronics are housed. The concept here is really quite clever, you have your sun shades and earbuds mixed into one unit. In the correct circumstances these are great, but in other circumstances they become not so good. If I am simply walking around the block or going to get the mail or just want to get out of the house and make a call then these work fine and the sound quality of both the speakers and microphone are sufficient. That is probably the most I would recommend this for is mild generic music listening or phone calls. These are not what you want for a hard workout or running, you will not be pleased. Also not intended for a true audiophile who needs hi-fidelity sound in order to feel right, these will not get you there. The integrated controls work well and allow you to function without the need to remove your phone from your pocket which I like. Battery life is also very good and carries enough juice to get you through several days of the above-mentioned generic listening and phone calls. I would say overall, if you're looking for a nice pair of stylish shades and think the addition of some headphones make these a but cooler then give these a shot. BUT do not get these if your goal is to get a really nice pair of headphones, you will be disappointed. Again, these sound fine and work well as intended but they will not be your primary headphones if you're into music - just my opinion. They are very niche and cool for what they are and I do like them - just in the right circumstances and with their known limitations.

I love these Sunglasses!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These Audio Sunglasses are just what I needed for simple audio glasses. No app, just Bluetooth connection and open your music app. You can also answer calls by pressing the buttons on the bottom of the temples on the sunglasses. I should note that the sunglasses are rather wide and the temples are somewhat large. They would fit a male perfectly, but wide on a female.

Look elsewhere for your glasses
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Lucyd Lyte Bluetooth Audio Sunglasses concept is intriguing but fails in execution. The glasses themselves are solidly constructed and come with a novel case but everything else is a disappointment. The audio quality is not good. Although they provide plenty of volume it is tinny and unfocused. Anyone sitting around you can hear the sound coming from the glasses. The location of the command buttons almost guarantees that you will press them by accident if you take them on or off or even just reach up to adjust them on your face. Each bow is an independent piece and so you must use the proprietary charger to charge the batteries and charging is very slow. Even the lenses are uncomfortable. The polarization is exaggerated and they are very dark. At this price point my advice is to spend a little more money and get a product that is better designed.

Nice glasses, right idea, could be better
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really enjoy the fact that there are various styles to choose from in creating your own “you style” sunglasses and have the option of Bluetooth audio for calls and music without having to add an extra item to your person. The sound on these is pretty good, treble is heard more clearly than bass at times and depending on the environment, you may need to turn the volume up a little. Note, if the environment is too quiet, others may become a part of your conversation. From a distance, they look like normal sunglasses, as you get closer you can tell they’re the arms for them have a thickness to them. They do not use a touch control style, but button style to make changes, so little more effort and sometimes have to adjust the glasses. The case that comes with the glasses can be a little snug at times and feel like you’re forcing them into the case; snug fit. They use mag charging to charge and has to be connected to both end of the arms.

Functional Fashion!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Lucyd Lyte Sunglasses are just as fashionable, if not more so, than the many other pairs I own. On top of that they also have excellent bluetooth functionality. The sound quality on calls is fantastic, and it integrates using Hey Siri! The comfort level on the Lucyd Lyte is also fantastic, I have no issue wearing them for many hours!

Great for bike riding
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got these smart wear glasses and shared them with my son who takes a lot of long distance bike rides. He was very impressed with them - sound quality is good and well as he thought they were stylish in appearance. He reported that the microphone did have some issues with the wind interference. The convenience of being able to multi-task with these on is the biggest plus.
