Customers are saying

Customers regard the MacBook Pro 16" as a high-performance laptop with excellent battery life and a stunning screen. Many appreciate its ease of use and sleek design, along with the inclusion of useful ports and ample RAM. However, some find the weight to be a significant drawback, and the price point is considered high by some users. While opinions on the Touch Bar's absence are divided, most appreciate the improved cooling system resulting in less fan noise and heat.

The best MacBook Pro I've owned

This is by far the best MacBook I've owned (before this was a 2019 MacBook Pro 16", and before that was a 2009 MacBook Pro 13"). Pros: + The battery life with the M1 Pro chip is fantastic + The added ports are a huge plus; I'm glad they're listening to what customers want! + The internal speakers are just as good as the 2019 model, maybe even better + They fixed the problematic keyboard from the previous year models Cons: - They took away the touch bar (which I actually liked), but the trade-off is worth it - I don't love the notch, but I use a third-party app to make the top bar black, and you don't even see it. Other thoughts: I thought 16GB of memory would be enough since it's "unified memory," but I wish I had gotten 32GB because I use a lot of apps at once and regularly max it out. Also, the 1TB SSD isn't worth the upgrade, in my opinion, unless you don't have an external drive or NAS to archive files on. I didn't realize the Apple silicon chips didn't support Boot Camp, which was the reason I wanted more space. Oh well! It's a fantastic laptop with so many Pros and only a few Cons. I definitely recommend it!

The MacBook Pro 16” M1 16G with 1T of memory was not my first choice. The super discount of $500 made it possible to switch from a 14”. The larger screen makes a difference. The processor speed and memory are very noticeable. The inter connectivity with IPhone and Apple Watch is a good feature: The MacBook will sense the Apple Watch and It will login by itself by opening the screen. It has Thunderbolt (3), HDMI, SD, Mini Headphone jack and MagSafe ports. Since there is no USB port, I purchased an adaptor. The MacBook 16 is heavier than the smaller models due to its larger battery capacity. (Rated to be 17 - 21 hours, which I have not tested). The iMovie App comes pre installed and is ready for family videos editing. Get the Magic Touch Pad it is worth it. To protect your investment I recommend the Geek Squad Tech support.

I originally bought the 16" MacBook Pro a month after it was released. However, I returned it as I thought it was too big. I wound up going with the new Lenovo Z16. After four months of having issues, I decided to go back to the MacBook, and I made the right decision. Open the lid, and it's super responsive. I haven't put it through a ton, but the MacBook Pro 16 can handle anything that I've thrown at it. Battery life is AMAZING! To date, I have used the MagSafe charger to fully charge the device (4) times. I almost exclusively use it on battery, and it holds its charge for days. The performance is rock solid! The M1 chip definitely does what I need it to do. I have multiple windows open simultaneously, and it never slows down. The body is reminiscent of the early 2000s 15-inch MacBook but I loved the 2000s MacBook, so I'm okay with the design. All in all, a great package if you are willing to shill out a couple of grand.

Great computer, clear large screen, and love the keyboard, makes it easy to type quickly and smoothly without being too loud. The laptop is a bit heavy for traveling, but if used as a primary computer mainly at home, it’s a great size for having multiple windows open on one screen

Love my new Macbook Pro! So much faster than my outdated iMac desktop! The prochip is faster than the new M2 chips. My 16 inch screen, while smaller than my old desktop, is SO MUCH bigger than all the 13” screens on everything else! You may not care if youre 18-30, but my old eyes appreciate it! And kets not forget about that SWEET finger button to sign in!! No more typing passwords.

I own iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, but until now, I've always been a Windows Laptop user. Over the last 4 years, I've had 4, count then, FOUR higher end Windows laptops crash and burn (not literally in flames), but totally crash on me. After my most recent HP Spectre 1TB 4K laptop's SSD literally crashed, I decided my time with Windows had to end. So, I bought this MacBook Pro 16" 1TB with the M1 Pro chip and to say, I don't know what took me so long to move to Mac. This MacBook Pro is simply beyond awesome and worth every single penny and it costs a lot of pennies, but you get what you pay for and then some. The build quality is amazing. The Stunning Liquid XDR Display is the best display I've ever seen on a laptop. The M1 Pro chip with 16GB of ram is fast beyond belief. MacOS is far easier to master than I ever imagined, with performance I was NEVER able to get with the highest end HP Spectre this replaces. I am simply blown away by how incredible this MacBook Pro is. Simply Blown AWAY!

FINALLY!!! Apple Gave Us Our Ports BACK!

To look at this MacBook Pro you would be like, Meh. And I get it; it is a very un assuming laptop. It's even kinda ugly from an aesthetic point of view. BUT, it is about time Apple brought back the ports! And function is this thing's unobtrusive hallmark! We have been missing the ports they robbed us of for so many years. AND they finally listened to us and brought them back. People talk about battery time - that isn't the be-all-end-all. For me it's about the ability to render graphics AND battery life. And this laptop handles both of those very well considering the price point. I wish I could afford more laptop performance but this setup is what I have and it performs like a champ. I'm never want of more performance while I'm in the middle of my workflow. I rated the newest incarnation of the MacBook Pro 5 stars because if you've used the newest MacBook Pro then you know how brilliant the screen is and how adept this laptop is at handling video AND how at home it is at processing your photos. If you are a graphic designer, photographer, or videographer you NEED this laptop. In fact, I'd put this particular laptop, in this configuration, against any, at any at this price point in a photo/video editing competition.

    #1 Choice For Creatives Professionals

TL;DR This thing absolutely crushes anything I throw at it, from Music Production, Video, Photo and Graphic Design workflows. For the money you will find nothing else like it in the PC and Intel Mac line-ups. For my testing I used Logic with Soundtoys, iZotope, Native Insruments and Valhalla plugins, I also Tested Premiere Pro with Ignite Pro/Hitfilm Special FX on a 4k HEVC clip and it ran in realtime which has never really happened for me before! This is the kind of performance you'd expect from Final Cut. Adobe CC programs also launch way faster than Im used too, they also perform incredibly well, even the non M1 optimized ones, I tested Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Premiere and After Effects. Cherry on top is the battery is unlike anything I've ever experienced, Im talking 10-13 hour EASILY with mid-heavy cpu/gpu workflows, while maintaining full performance. If you're doing light work you can easily look upwards of 16hrs. You're simply not going to find this amount of efficiency and performance on battery anywhere else. I feel weird saying this is the best screen on any laptop, but it truly is and its not even close. The HDR true blacks and 1600nit peak highlights are unmatched, the color profiles and tiny bezels are very nice to have on the go. The 120hz is also very nice but I will note, as of now, Safari/Chrome doesn't support it for some reason, its being worked on now but its worth noting. The speakers are mind bogglingly awesome, quality bass and more balanced sound compared to even previous MacBook speakers, Dolby Atmos actually does something I can only describe as black magic, feels weirdly surround when your in front of it, they also don't distort at high volumes, and the volume gets LOUD. I hear a lot of people saying these MacBooks are expensive, but I think they're actually underpriced for what they offer. A high end mini-led Dolby Atmos 120hz monitor like this alone cost at LEAST over $1500 and even then has several caveats. For video editors these MacBooks have h.264, HEVC and Prores accelerators built in, normally you'd have to buy a separate $2000 afterburner card dedicated to just accelerating footage. Not to mention the CPU and Integrated graphics are in a league of their own with performance/efficiency, this level of professional grade horsepower on battery is currently exclusive to these MacBooks, every PC you'll find throttles incredibly hard on performance, while still having worse battery and thermals. If you can afford these and you're a creative professional, this is an obvious choice, best piece of hardware money can buy, full stop.

I have been wanting to buy a Mac pro since my old Macbook pro is 12 yrs old :). Since M1 processor released, I had my eye on this Macbook pro. Finally got it at a great deal this Thanks Giving (Or just before that). When I got the laptop - the whole machine was Bent (curved). Best buy customer care was best to replace and exchange it with another new one quickly. The Macbook pro is the fastest Mac I have ever used. Pros - System Boots quick, Safari is fast, pages load faster than a lightning strike. I run Logic pro and Adobe creative - blazing fast and great processing of audio and video and photograph contents. My kids use it for their Math and studies , I use it for Audio, video processing and for work. Multi tasking is a breeze and switching apps is fast since I have 16GB of integrated RAM. 1 TB SSD gives enough storage and then some for backup (iphones and ipads). Surprisingly, for a 16" laptop, it is lighter than I thought it would be. Great design and optimal usage of Raw materials. HDMI port is available +++ - Great way to connect external monitor. I can even use my iPad Pro as a secondary monitor and Vice versa. Cons - Very big laptop - 16". I wish BB sold it for 14". But I can live with this con given its performance and overall weight. No USB 2.0 ports. So I have to use USB C external drives and adapters. Recommendation: if you need to buy a good laptop for your family - don't think twice, buy it and it will last for 10+ years (Minimum).

Just upgraded from a 2019 MBP. The fans are much quieter, webcam is better (still not great), linger battery life and so far has been able to keep up with my workload - software dev and some light video editing. The main con is the weight and size compared to the 2019 MBP

This product is expensive yet worth the money. The display is beautiful, and the processing speed is super fast. The only issue I have is that the wifi sometimes delayed at the start up, take about 1 minute sometimes, which is not an issue with my PC>

The 16” MacBook Pro has an amazing screen and great specs. I was all excited to make it my new laptop after my family gave it to me as a birthday present- that was until 6 days later Apple announced the new M2 MacBook Pros. BestBuy had the M1 MBP 16” at $450 off but the new M2 MBP 16” (after a preorder $100 BestBuy gift card) made the new one only $350 more than M1 so I decided to return this one and preorder the M2. The BestBuy return process was excellent and hassle free. Can’t wait to get the new M2. But if the old M1 is on a great sale, by all means pick it up. There is not a huge difference in the specs other than the main processor.

Finally! I used to be a pc guy only but after running through 6 laptops in 7 years I finally switched to MacBook Pro and after 2 years it still works like day 1. That is unheard of with the amount of abuse I put it through! I love how they added an HDMI port! It is a game changer because I normally hook up to multiple screens at once. I podcast and run this machine hard. It takes every bit of the abuse. I probably won’t ever switch back.

I’ve been an Apple guy since Apple was Apple Computer Inc. The speed, style, sleekness, operating systems and just the overall sexy look of the MacBook are all wonderful. We all wish things were cheaper but Apple is worth evert penny I’ve ever spent. This is my 4 MacBook and it probably won’t be my last. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Apple products and more so to the ones who like the other guys. Once you go an Apple you won’t go back.

This whole new line of computers with the M1 chip are just outstanding all around. I had already experienced the power of M1 with the Mac Mini which blew my mind in how I could get so much computer at such a low price. In the case of this specific computer the first thing that blew me away as the screen. It's literally the best screen I own and I have a few high end TVs at home. I find myself watching HDR content on this just to see it in a new light. The promotion part of the display wasn't really that evident to me expect for a few things in the UI like the magnification of the icons in the dock or swiping through the app drawer. One thing that was noticeable is that movie playback seems to actually be in 24fps which eliminates judder leading to smoother (not artificially smoother) theater like motion. The build quality is top notch and from the get go you feel like the machine is a tank. The extra ports are a great add and make it easier for me to use this as my main machine. The only thing that was a bit less than I expected is the battery life. I mean it's absolutely great compared to other regular laptops, but already seeing the incredible M1 battery life on the Air I thought this one was gonna be a bigger leap, but they went for a more power hungry approach here to deliver more performance. If you're updating from an older Intel chip, the combo of the M1 chip and the screen will literally have questioning reality. If you're coming from the regular M1, the shock won't be as big but the screen and the ports are reason enough to upgrade.

I was waiting for the new 15 inch MacBooks to drop. I decided to take a quick look inside the store before I pulled the trigger. To my surprise, Best Buy had a refurbished 16 inch Mac book pro with higher specs. Far exceeded my expectations for a refurbished unit. There was a minimal scratch on the surface. Other than that the laptop looked brand new. I saved 700 going this route, and I urge others to do so as well
