Customer Ratings & Reviews

I'm a huge fan of both Mario and Sonic, so I was pretty excited to check out this game and Black Friday was the perfect excuse to get it. And let me tell you, this game did not disappoint! It's a fun and frenzied sports showdown that's sure to get your heart racing and your competitive juices flowing, I play it with my daughter and we both love it. GAMEPLAY There are a ton of different gameplay modes to choose from, so there's something for everyone. I personally had a blast playing the Story Mode, which takes you on a whirlwind tour of the various Olympic events. The multiplayer modes are also a lot of fun, and I especially enjoyed the Dream Events, which add a unique twist to the classic Olympic disciplines. GRAPHICS The graphics are bright, colorful, and full of personality. The character models are all well done, and the environments are packed with detail. The game also runs at a smooth framerate, which is essential for a fast paced games. SOUND The sound is equally good. The music is catchy and upbeat, and the sound effects are satisfying. The game also features voice acting from some of the Mario and Sonic characters, which is cool. STORY The Story Mode is a bit on the short side, but it's still a fun and entertaining way to experience the game. The story is lighthearted and silly, and it features all of my favorite Mario and Sonic characters. REPLAYABILITY This is a very replayable game. There are so many different events to try, and the multiplayer modes are sure to keep you coming back for more. I've already sunk a whole day into this game, and I'm still not sick of it. OVERALL In my opinion this must have game for any fan of Mario or Sonic. It's a fun, fast-paced, and exciting game that's sure to get your heart racing and your competitive spirit excited.

IN OTHER WORDS............................ IT IS ONE OF THE BEST NEW GAMES I HAVE PURCHASED FROM NINTENDO'S NEWEST OFFERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting selection of mini sports games, but the highly realistic game mechanics can be quite challenging. For example, with the discus and javelin throws, you need to adjust for speed, direction, pitch, power boost, etc. Gymnastics almost requires pro gamer level of hand eye coordination. Probably the most challenging to learn among all Mario titles, especially for preteens. Good multiplayer options.

This game is so much fun. It is multiplayer and has many different options so my boys don’t get bored playing the same one over and over. Swimming, racing, surfing, fencing, boxing, karate, soccer, skateboarding and much more! It also has my sons favorite characters - sonic and Mario. Even the adults enjoy playing it!!

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 - Nintendo Switch It is a magnificent console game. The purchase was very easy through the best buy page, at a cheap price very short waiting time to pick it up, the process to pick it up is very practical, requesting 5 minutes before using the best buy application

I have not played it yet, but I heard it’s a nice game to play as a family. This is my son Christmas gift so still waiting for 25th to opened it.

I purchased this game because my son thought it would be fun for us to try Olympic Games. We have been watching the Olympics and are curious about a lot of the competitions. We actually enjoyed this more than Just Dance.

I bought it for my kids they really like it ,good choice, nice gift for kids

Got it during Christmas time, it’s a great deal, perfect Christmas gift for the fam.

This game is cute, but not very challenging so far. I'm not far into it so maybe it will get more challenging and interesting as I go. But after playing games like Donkey Kong, Mario Odasy, and Salt and Sanctuary this game seems boring. It has a lot of reading information about Olympic games of the past, and Nintendo history. But I had to add it to my collection, as there will be no 2020 games because of covid19.

Kids Christmas Present 2022. First time owning a video game console. First time playing video games. Kids are 9 & 11. They found the Olympic Games FUN. 9YR OLD-“I like the skateboarding and the rowing game because i get to move around.” 11YR OLD- “I like the boxing; it’s funny!”

The Positives: + Very good looking game that also runs well + Excellent presentation values + Multiple control options on many of the events + Many of the events (rugby sevens, for example) are very fun.... The Drawbacks: - ...but some (like retro volleyball) aren't great or downright clunky - Despite claiming "Button Only" controls, discus throw requires motion control - No special multiplayer mode like tournament mode in the original or London 2012's party mode on Wii - While not without its moments, Story mode isn't as entertaining as it really should be Summary: Another in the now long line of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games titles, Tokyo 2020 is a fine entry into the series. Some quirks, foibles, and missing features hold the game back from being as good as it should be, though. It's worth playing if you like this series and there are some real stand out events, but I wouldn't recommend paying full price. If I could give it 3.5 stars, I would have, but it just barely gets 4 from me.

I picked this up because I enjoy party games that everyone can jump into, and this one has been a lot of fun. There's a great variety of Olympic events, so it never feels repetitive, and it's easy enough for both kids and adults to enjoy together. The controls are responsive, the visuals are colorful, and it's one of those games that's easy to pick up for a few quick matches or spend an entire evening playing. Seeing Mario and Sonic characters compete together still feels unique, and there's plenty of content to keep things interesting. If you're looking for a fun multiplayer game to play with family or friends, this is definitely worth adding to your Switch collection.

I love the archery game in it. The only downside is that Nintendo already delisted it. I think they should provide more support. But still, classic.

The games within the game are so much fun to play! We just got the new console that came out but I’m pretty savvy with consoles. It was a little annoying and frustrating when selecting new games or players. It’s not easy to go from one row to the next or selecting two players versus one. It was still fun though and it still gets played. We just play what we are finally able to select since it’s been a little difficult.

I bought this game for my 5-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter (also because it was on sale). I love the variety of games within this game and the graphics and characters it has. My son is a huge fan of sonic so this was a perfect game for him. The only bad thing I would say about this game is the fact that some games (football {soccer} and rugby sevens) are only 4 minutes long as the max option. Also, as soon as you finish one game, it makes you choose again for another game or the same one if you like. It doesn't have the option like Mario Kart 8 where it has 4 races in one game. Another thing is the story mode - there is too much talking or reading instead of playing. Overall, my kids and I always play the same games (dream karate, football, rugby seven, volleyball, and table tennis). I would recommend this game for the family.

amazing game to play with other people. Kods love it

Bought this to add to the collection of party games to ay with people. It's really fun, like that there's a lot of events to play and you can switch between dual handheld mode, single handheld and controller. Although, there are specific games you can only play using the buttons and some using theotion nunchucks. Not to mention the nice addition of an alternate mode to play the events. Don't want to spoil what it is but a hint, fans of 8 bit games will be amused. Also, story mode is not that bad and the addition of it to a game I was not expecting to have one is great

This game has several mini games that my family loves to play for a little fun competition. The controls San be a little confusing, but there is an explanation provided before each game begins. Once you play a couple times, you catch on. For the fun, it's not a deal breaker, imo. It would make a great party game too. Play up to four players on a single screen, and I believe you can play up to eight players with two switch consoles.

There are some quirks with the game, but overall it's been really fun at parties. The single player can get a little dull in longer sessions, but is fun in short bursts. The retro games can be fun, but I certainly wish there were more. Kids would probably enjoy this a lot and ignore the faults. As an adult, I've gotten my $40 worth for the nostalgia and party fun alone.
