Thank you for your review. Please note the the speakers volume will increase logarithmically, which means that the speakers volume will increase exponentially if the volume is turned up above the unity volume, which would be roughly 50% on the volume knob. Below 50% there will be resistance on the amount of power that is used on the speaker, this will cause the volume to be lower that the signal that is being inputted from your phone to the speaker. On volumes 60% - 100% the signal will be truly amplified, this is where the volume will be boosted to loud listening levels. I hope you find this information helpful. What you are experiencing is the nature of the D-Class amplification used with the speaker. Take care, best regards.

I've been testing out this new Marshall Stockwell II speaker for the last week and I must say that I'm very impressed. Who knew so much power and amazing sound quality could come in such a compact package. This bluetooth speaker is amazing. Inside the package is the Stockwell II along with a USB-A to USB-C charging cable, and a velvet strap to connect to the hooks on both the left and right side. After getting the strap connected, I turned on the speaker by turning the power button on top (the left button). The other 2 buttons are for bass and treble. Holding down the bluetooth button which is almost flush puts the speaker in pairing mode. I connected to the Stockwell II via my bluetooth settings on my iPhone and presto. I cranked it and man oh man does this thing sound amazing. Simple and elegant and reminiscent of the Marshall brand and style. i totally recommend this to anyone looking for an amazing bluetooth speaker with awesome sound quality. The build quality is also top notch as well.

Hi Marc, thanks for your review. Try the Kilburn II or the Tufton, if you are looking for more, these 2 portable models are bigger and pack more sound.

Marshall Stockwell II Portable Bluetooth Speaker This speaker is a nice sounding small portable speaker with an easy carry “leather” and felt strap. The speaker box itself is hard plastic surrounded by a rubber cushion. Something like an Otterbox case. Hopefully the rubber won’t do the same thing as the Otterbox. The speaker contains 2, 1-1/2” full range drivers. One on the front (left speaker) and one on the back (right speaker). It has 1, 2” woofer on the front and 1, 2-1/4” passive radiator on the back. The case is vented but not really ported. The venting seems to be more for the batteries. The power is supplied by a 10.8V 2600mah li-ion battery. The amp is rated at 10 watts for the woofer and 2 x 5 watts for the full range speakers. The controls are very easy to work and function much like you would expect. Volume is off to 10, Bass 0 to 10, Treble 0 to 10, a push button for Bluetooth pairing (Bluetooth connections states multi connection ability) and a good battery indicator. It charges with a USB C cable (supplied) and the use of any of your existing phone chargers, it does not come with the charger. This is normal but with this speaker it is a setback. It has the ability to charge at 12V 3A but finding a phone charger that will do that is hit or mis. If they intend it to be charged at that voltage, they should supply the charger. Using a standard phone charger that is 5V 2.1A it took about 12 hours to charge the battery. Next to the USB C charging port is a 3.5mm input jack for Aux input. The stated battery life is 20 hours. Running the speaker for 4 hours at high level only moved the battery indication down 1 of the 10 lights. The speaker is IPX4 water resistant. Do not use it next to the pool. I wouldn’t even take it to the beach for fear of sand getting in the cabinet. It will take a small splash but not much else. With that said it would look great on your desk and give you great sound with easy to use controls. Overall this speaker has the looks of an old guitar amp, just smaller. I can see it being a good fit on an office desk with plenty of volume for the occasional office get together.

      Hi Bryan,

Thanks for your review and feedback. We hope you have a moment to go in and talk to a store agent or reach out to the Support Team on marshallheadphones.com. The Stockwell II is a great speaker, however, it is possible that there are speakers better suited to your intended use. We'd love to discuss this further.

Everyone remembers the iconic Marshall amplifiers from back in the day. They're baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! Except this time they come back as a bluetooth speaker. How well do they perform? When I say room filling sound, most people would balk at the idea of a relatively small to medium sized speaker being able to pull that off. But once again, Marshall has out-done themselves. What it lacks in size, it makes up for in heft. This thing is pretty heavy (but not prohibitively so). Inside the box we have a USB-C charging cable, the instructions, and (AND!) a velvet lined carry strap. The Marshall Stockwell 2 also has all of the looks of the famous amps from back in the day. From the distressed "grill" to the volume, treble and bass knobs up top. As the ultimate test (and a very rare use study) I connected it to a desktop running Fedora 19. The bluetooth drivers are finicky for what it usually will connect to. But, after turning on the seek mode on the speaker, seconds later BAM - there it was displaying as found on the desktop! I couldn't believe it. Now the sound... It can be described as room filling, crisp, clear, and punchy. And this is with the treble and bass settings set in the middle. Turning the treble up slowly brought even more "air" and crispness to the sound (which sounded good to these ears). And slowly turning up the bass began to cause my office desk to rumble!!! HIGHLY IMPRESSED (I use all caps very infrequently, so this is definitely saying something)!!! If you are looking for a mid/high range bluetooth speaker set to impress in both its sound and aesthetics, you definitely need to get the Marshall Stockwell II !!
