Let me start off by saying everything about the Stockwell 2 is top notch. From the packaging to the solid feel of the speaker and the dials etc to the carrying handle. Charging is easy via the USB-C port and the charging life indicator is easy to read and is a nice graduated line. Pairing is also easy with the touch of a button. The sound emanates from the front and back and is “multi-directional” and there are three old school dials (which is a nice touch) on the top for volume, bass and treble respectively. Once paired here is where the Stockwell 2 really shines. The sound is fantastic for a speaker this size, Bass is deep, the highs are crisp, the speaker doesn’t sound muddy at all and even at full volume has absolutely no distortion. The Stockwell 2 is also IPX4 water resistant and the battery lasts just over 20 hours on a full charge. Ok, so what makes it less than perfect? I for one always look for speakers that I can take a phone call on, more and more are leaving this feature and Marshall with the Stockwell 2 is no exception, there is no ability to make a speakerphone call. Other than that this speaker for the size in my opinion cannot be beat. Don’t hesitate, for music playback it’s tough to beat. If you need it for phone calls as well, then it’s not for you.

Unpackaging was a breeze, it comes in a box with formed cardboard packaging. Along with the speaker that is wrapped in a disposable clothlike bag, there is a USB C-type charge plug that fits into the right hand side of the speaker, a beefy carry handle that can be attached if you choose and the quick start user guide. Looking straight at the Stockwell it has the silver metal mesh cover, with the famous Marshall on top of it. The sides have 2 gold knobs that will hold the handle. The back of the speaker has the same metal mesh, however its black in color. On top, from left tom right are; power indicator which is red when on, the bluetooth connect, just depress for a second to connect, next are the analog volume, bass and treble knobs that go from 0-10, and last is the power indicator bar that also illuminstes the status in red. When I turned the speaker on I was blown away by the sound, at aprx 8"hx6"w this puppy gets almost as loud as my Kilburn II, it's older cousin who is about three times larger. I had the Stockwell II bass set to 5 and the treble at 7 with the volume on 10, playing Pieces of a Dream, Loves Sillohuet. The Bass was vibrating the speaker as it sat on my lap. Again not as loud as my Kilburn but the bass is much richer on the Stockwell. The speakers sound is multi-directional, IP4 water resistant and it is bluetooth 5.0 design. There is no enclosed aux cable and you can't answer calls.

What a great speaker! This Marshall Stockwell II portable Bluetooth speaker looks great and sounds even better. I had it out of the box, paired with my phone, and playing Hugo Winterhalter’s Canadian Sunset on Youtube in less than 60 seconds. I carried it around the room with the included strap attached and took the music everywhere. Although it is not a stereo unit, audio is played out of both sides of the unit. This will have a home in my garage where I will use it with my satellite radio receiver. The package includes a USB-C cable for charging, but there is no AC adapter, so you will need to buy one of those if you don’t already have a half-dozen by now. There is also a mini-plug jack for a wired connection to an audio source. Out of the box, the unit’s battery was almost completely charged, so I was up and playing songs with no delay. The box claims 20 hours of play time after a full charge. In summary, I am very impressed with this speaker. The sound is strong and deep (bass and treble controls are included). This is the second Marshall product I’ve had experience with (the first being a pair of headphones), and I have been thoroughly impressed with the quality of construction and the sound with both. Highly recommended.

for the price this cost it sounds awful. my 90 dollar homepod sounds more clear and even gets louder. I would go with a different speaker especially for the price.

Hello, thanks for your review. We are sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the Stockwell II. If you are looking for a louder speaker, please try one of the bigger models such as the Tufton (portable) or the Stanmore II Bluetooth (not portable).

Overpriced. Sound quality decent, but not any better than a speaker half the price. Mine won't charge anymore, eventhough it was used minimally. Purchased over a year ago so no warranty available.

Hi Mike, thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that your speaker is no longer charger, have you tried different charging cables and power sources? We hope the speaker still works while it is plugged in so that you can still enjoy your tunes despite it no longer being a portable speaker.

It's all about the bass. Great sound in a portable speaker. It's nice to have real knobs to turn to adjust the volume, treble and bass! Recharges quickly, with red-LED indicator bars. Handy carrying handle, brass hardware for a premium look. The 'BOX' while portable, has some heft to it. This , I believe, allows the rich sounds to be felt and heard from its larger speakers. I had no problem syncing to my Bluetooth touch pad or cellphone. And I can't say this enough, I love the separate volume, bass and treble controls on the top of the speaker. Whether watching a movie or TV show or just chilling by the pool, summer will surely be sounding better this year.

Battery life is pretty stellar. It's also very cool that sound comes out both the front and back of the unit. As a "buyer beware" this thing charges with USB-C, not the typical USB Micro that most smartphones today still use. That said, the battery is also very big so takes a while for the first charge to fill it up. The bass + treble adjustment honestly doesn't do much; I barely noticed any difference when tweaking the knobs from lowest -> highest. But the sound that did some out was full & it could get very loud. We plan on using it when we go camping to provide some ambience at the campground while we chill around the fire! It's very portable so it's perfect for this.

its small but packs a punch! it connects very quickly and easy. you can directly control bass and treble on top of the speaker. it also has a volume control which im not a big fan of because it also allows you to control volume from your phone as well. the box comes with a charging cable that isnt common and it doesnt plug in the wall directly, you need a charging block. also has a large carrying handle that resembles a guitar strap, looks cool but makes the speaker look like a sand pail :( build seems very sturdy and made from high quality materials. the sound quality is phenominal, id put this up in the Bose category
