We purchased this washer a week ago and once we got it home and hooked it up we were shocked how loud it was. I decided to start trying to figure out why it was so noisy, and I'm glad I did! To start with, the loud sound right when you start a load of wash is the door locking. Is it loud? Yup, sure is, but it has nothing to do with how the washer performs. Secondly, when you install the drain hose it is naturally curved to set back against the base of the machine at the bottom, so when the machine starts to spin, the drain hose smacks the back of the machine, making an annoying racket. Luckily the drain hose is also sort of flexible and if you just ever so slightly bend it away from the machine it will cease making that sound. And finally, the water lines that we purchased were garbage. They were the only set Best Buy had in stock so we purchased them in the name of "new" being better than re-using the old lines with a new machine. I read the reviews on the lines we bought and 4 people mentioned that they were causing water hammering in their home. A quick search showed that the lines we bought were not as wide internally as other lines and as such were causing water hammering when it hit the lines and it had to abruptly slow down. Water hammering is not only annoying, it is bad for your pipes. We bought new water lines made specifically to quick fill an HE washer and the problem (and the noise associated with it) stopped. Our clothes are definitely getting cleaner than they were, the cycles are not insanely long and it does the job you need it to do, all at a pretty good price.

Highly recommend both the product and the service!

This washer sucks. It shakes. It’s noisy. The wash cycles are ridiculously long. I can’t turn the water on until the lid is down and once the lid is down then it messes up the whole cycle if you need to put something in last minute. Yes it has a deep tub and yes the laundry is coming out clean. Yes it’s made well..but overall I absolutely hate the performance and do not recommend.

It’s big and it cleans the clothes well. But it bangs around and is louder than loud. I’m sorry I did not get my good old washing machine repaired instead of buying this because it makes so much noise, and it sounds like it’s about to break any second. We can’t do laundry at night anymore! It keeps the whole house awake with the dang bang bang bang! I had NO idea ANY washing machine could ever be this loud, and I’m just terribly disappointed with it. My old washer only sounded like this if the load was unbalanced. And even then it wasn’t like super loud. This washing machine is loud.

I prefer top loading washers. This 1 did not disappoint. I like the agitator. In the middle because I feel it washes the clothes a lot better. My white clothes come out white and not dingy. Works great!!! I recommend 10 out of 10.

Great machine. Not a fan of the lid lock in the event you can add more clothes. A little noiser than my old unit but very spacious for a extraarge load of laundry. Besides the lid lock. Thw washer is hands off. I put you detergent first then the clothes, select my wash options, hit start and done it washes the laundry without having to check or oversee the wash which is nice. Once its locked, let it wash and your laundry is washed and clean.

Excellent quality. It has a big barrel for large loads. Simple to use whereas other machines look like a spaceship ready for Mars.

What a nice machine! I was replacing my 19 year old washing machine. I believe in Maytag and have had good luck with them in the past. This machine washes efficiently, spin cycle almost gets my clothes dry! I thought my relatively new dryer wasn’t that great until I got this washer! I love the sense setting for washer fullness. It’s way quieter and has very little vibration. I’m very happy with it!

These washers are junk. The start button needs a lot of pressure to work, and I can't imagine it can handle years of use. Doesn't drain. The lid stayed locked after the cycle (you have to unplug and wait 2 minutes for it to reset), and I returned the first one because the regular wash cycle took 20 hrs, and the clothes were soaking wet. I just got the second one. It worked for about 3 loads then (45 minute wash cycle). Now it doesn't drain. I WAS Maytag loyale. I was replacing my last one from the 80s. Some poor decisions have been made over the last 40 years.

This Maytag washer cleans clothes thoroughly and has plenty of wash settings to handle different fabrics. It’s roomy inside and works well with large loads. It does make some noise but not too much. Best Buy delivered it on time, and Geek Squad installed it professionally. Overall, it’s made laundry easier and more efficient.

Just received delivery 2 days ago. Replaced Maytag Bravo XL. The lid is extremely flimsy, like a cheap metallic frisbee; makes the wobbly sound. This will break and not warrantied. The start button will be damaged as it is just a thin plastic cover, which will crack, over a button. It is LOUD. No insulation. A soda can at best. Inferior design. Poor detergent in buttom basin, which will stain clothes. Mayrag is made by Whirlpool, so you know quality has gone down the drain. Will this last five years? I HIGHLY DOUBT IT! Planned obsolescence. Inferior product. If you would have told the original makers of Maytag that eventually their appliances would become disposable, they would undoubtedly recoil in horror. No pride in current craftsmanship. But we are wasteful polluters! HA!

Maytag Bravo XL ran like a top for 10 yrs until the gringing stsrted. I coukd replace bearing but why go thru the hasle. Bought this washer and have no complaints. If anything, the lif is heavier and slams compaired to the Bravo XL

All Washington machines work good at first. I just got this one only a few months old. It works good washes the clothes great. Do not buy Whirlpool washing machines they don't last too long after the warranty I bought a new one from Best Buy and good thing I put a warranty on it. Because it died on me. So I decided to switch brands and go well Maytag.

I was so excited about this purchase I went with the set and was a great price with the sale. Never could I have ever thought a basic washing machine from Maytag could be faulty. The machines are very basic easy to use no bells and whistles just turn the knob to cycle desired (normal, whits, heavy, etc). The lid is very flimsy fells like could break easily very wobbly. It started with a little leak, didn't worry too much since was just installed maybe from hooking up. But that wasn't all, before the team left he explained to try and keep them both runnig as much as possible thru the next 24-48 hours making sure everything is running properly. When they left both the washer & dryer were running set on the longest cycle. After work I went and put in my first load. The washer was the loudest washer I have ever experienced. When it would change cycles the thumping from the change over was so extreme literally would shake the house. The only time it was quiet was during it actually cleaning. Otherwise extremely loud, thumping, and shaking. Also it would take an hour and half for a regular wash set on normal, insane. Mind you my washer and dryer are in the basement for reference to the noise and shaking. I had a Armana set previously that ran perfectly with no issue for 10yrs. The dryer is a whole nother story. The only setting the dryer would work at was on《HIGH HEAT》 ● 《MORE DRY》 any orher setting it would trip the breaker. On day 2 (so with in 24hr) the dryer randomly would decide if it even would dry at all on the one setting or not. The delivery team were AMAZING very very respectful and went above and beyond the typical delivery & install. After the installation was complete the lead of the team brought to my attention the washer had a dent and had already made Best Buy aware by submitting a claim. He called the rep on his phone and handed the call over to me in order to resolve or rectify the issue. He explained the entire process before calling for me and helped with receiving a refund for the damage. If i could give the delivery install team 10☆☆☆ I would!!

This machine has a good size drum. It does a great job of cleaning clothes, towels and comforters. We love that it is a basic washer machine, with an added feature/bonus to add more water to your liking. Plus Maytag provides a 10 year part warranty! I would recommend this top loader washer machine 100%!

Works well. Like most have said it is very loud, but it doesn’t bother me because where my laundry room is located. It also doesn’t fill with as much water as I would like.

It's a high efficiency HE washer that adjusts the water level to match the load size. I'm using HE Tide detergent. I use very little per load, and my clothes come clean. The stainless steel braided hoses are leak free. No problems...
