Download any app from any category to get the feel then refine your direction after your get the gist of potentials held in your hand. You can find free apps but, generally, the apps are $1.99 to $2.99 and up. Thankfully, if you are not satisfied with your experience, you can request a refund from the developer. Before you begin your explorations with the multitude of available apps, you will be given information in advance on compatibility with your smartphone i.e. ios or android. Check specs of your smartphone’s dimensions and model to confirm compatibility. Knock out the pre-cut hole in your lightweight and comfy goggles for your phone’s viewer. (BTW, if you’re going to pass the goggles on to others, be sure to periodically clean your goggles to avoid the transfer of harmful microbes. Good thing is… they’re adjustable for any eye width and are super easy to wash down.) Slip your smartphone into your goggles with the viewer aligned with the hole’s opening. But, be certain to put your phone on auto rotate so you can get the correct orientation for viewing the Merge Cube through your camera. Adjust the straps on your goggles. And, you’re ready to roll: The image on your camera will guide you to ‘HOLD THE CUBE IN THE VIEWER’. And, when you get your viewer lined up correctly, your portal opens so the multidimensional action figures and architecture pops out at you. From this point, you can intuit how to move through the options to play games and have a kaleidoscope of trips at your fingertips. You can never get bored with the endless options generated by so many developers in the field. Can’t go wrong with this treat for any gathering of family, friends or colleagues at the office! Price is super reasonable and the gear is not only adjustable but near impossible to break as is the hieroglyphic wrapped cube.

We did not find these to be sophisticated enough for adults but they are great for teens. I would recommend buying these for your teenagers to use for various viewing.

Really needed this as I got tired of holding my phone in one hand and trying to manipulate the Merge cube in the other.

With solid build quality, a comfortable fit, and compatibility with virtually any smartphone, these goggles have a lot going for them. Most of all, though, they really are fun. The build quality is a bit unexpected, as they're actually made of a flexible foam. But, the foam feels as if it's designed to last for many years, and it has several advantages. Thanks to the flexibility, my iPhone fit easily and snugly, generating no user fear that it will crash to the ground if I turn wrong. The device fits snugly but comfortably on my face. And the foam means that if you do drop them, the goggles will not crack. One caveat on phone use - I don't use a case on my iPhone, but it appeared that all but the slimmest cases would have trouble fitting into the slot. You can get around this by taking your phone out of the case before using, but this is a hassle. The lenses are large and clear, with adjustable focal points. My eyes have very different focal points, which meant that one image was fuzzy, distorting the VR effect. I was happy to discover that the Merge VR was compatible with my glasses, which solved the problem. The headset, with the optional top strap, was very comfortable to wear for an extended period of time. It fit snugly, but the foam cushioned the seal, and there was no sliding down the nose. Compatibility with Google Cardboard made use very simple, as any game or video designed to work with Cardboard will instantly work with the Merge. Now for the only downside, but it's not really about the goggles. The images from some games and videos was sometimes choppy. Again, this isn't about the optics, fit, or build quality, but about the capabilities of smartphones and network reliability. It doesn't happen often (except with some free apps), but when it does, it's a jarring reminder that you're wearing a headset with a phone in it. If you are looking for a VR device that's comfortable, simple to use, well-built, and works as advertised, check out the Merge VR. It really is a blast.

I had to return this item because it didn’t seem to work well with my glasses. As I have never tried any other brand, I can’t really compare products.

It does work, however, I feel a little strain on my eyes, also tiny dust particles are somewhat an irritant, but good for price

they are light weight. But Large phones are hard to get in and out. Would recommend for small phones

I got this as part of Deal of the Day and my kids enjoyed it to the core and it works good.

I think that the fit could be better. We bought this as a Christmas gift and our daughter said it was okay. It was worth the price.
