Customers are saying

Customers admire the comfort and compatibility of these VR goggles, frequently praising the ease of lens adjustment and the lightweight design. Many appreciate the immersive VR experience and the affordable price point, although some users note challenges with achieving optimal focus and image clarity. The fit is generally considered secure and adjustable for various phone sizes and head shapes. While battery drain is a concern for some VR apps, the overall user experience is largely positive.

I had high hopes for this product, however it failed to meet muster. Starting with the material, it's a hard foam. Nothing bad there and the device is surprisingly light as a result. Wouldn't worry too much of damaging it. The bands are comfortable enough and I had little difficulty adjusting them. Overall, no complaints there. Once the phone is placed inside it becomes a different story. The weight of the phone ends up resting on my cheeks, even after multiple readjustments. Not horrible, but it does get uncomfortable after about half an hour and gradually gets moreso from there on. The heat generated from the phone is also not vented near so well as the design suggests. It easily gets hot enough to cause sweating. I didn't have much trouble getting my phone in or out. Of note, though, the little insert for 'augmented reality' (aka covering or not covering your camera) does come out and goes back in fairly easily. Something that becomes a nuisance after the first few times it pops out. Finally, and this isn't the product's fault, the supporting apps and content are utter junk. Most apps will be stupidly short, beg for money, have exceptionally poor graphics, not support actual virtual movement (aka they just allow tilt control), or some combination of those aspects. TL;DR: For something just to play around with as a cheap(ish) toy, this would be alright. For a decent VR experience, it's not good at all. So I would not recommend buying this with the thought of bypassing more expensive VR options like I did.

My brother kept mentioning to me that he wanted VR googles for his IPhone. I did not know much about them, but he made sure he let me know what brand to get that was compatible for his phone. I surprised him for Christmas and he darn near jumped out his chair, lol. He loves them and it is really crazy how real it is.

I have a Samsung Active, and was told that my phone wasn't compatible with the Gear, so tried this as an alternative. It serves the purpose, and at a lower cost. It is a slight pain to have to take my phone case off, and squeeze my phone in the pocket -plus no outside controls, so I have to squeeze it back out when I want to watch something else, but hey, at least I didn't have to buy a new phone to view VR videos. It works pretty good.

This Merge VR set is very well designed

This is essentially on the google cardboard VR design, which users could make themselves out of you guessed it, cardboard. This Merge VR set is very well designed. It is made of a very soft foam that is lightweight, and quite comfortable. Good thing it is lightweight, as you phone, Android or iPhone, will be mounted in the front of the headset. There are slots for you to put a headphone wire thru to the phone, on both sides, and also allow any speakers to pass thru sound and actually amplify them as they go out a bit too. There is also an area where your nose will fit into, so good thing this thing is soft. There is a flexible elastic band for wrapping around your head, plus an extra band for going from the back of the main band, over the top of your head, to help distribute the weight a bit. The design of that works very well. There is also access a front eye piece foam, which can be removed if you are using an app that is supposed to work in conjunction with, like if an app needs access to the phones camera, etc. Most of the time you would have that eye piece put in to block out any light. This VR headset will fit even larger phones, like the LG V10, and will stay put inside that very soft foam. One very awesome thing of the design, is that the lenses themselves will move left to right, to adjust for varying head sizes, so you can really get a good customization for your head. Most other google cardboard products don’t do this, and you kind of hold them, and then have to either keep them close to your head, or hold them away from your head. This solves that issue for such a relatively inexpensive device. The sliders for this adjustment also doubles as a push-down, in-app selection device in supported software. This slider/button is on top of the headset. The viewing experience is pretty good, not much latency that I could sense at least. The viewing experience was great, and not blurry as you might think for an item in this price range. This is a great gift for a young person(over 8 I would imagine), and even grown ups. Very fun to watch movies on too, without disturbing your significant other.

These goggles fit well and felt comfortable but did not work so well for me since I wear glasses. Despite the fact that they had ventilation slots my glasses fogged up after around 10 minutes of use. Otherwise they would have worked out. Would recommend them for people who don't wear glasses.

Works fine - not a bad toe in the water intro to VR. You’ll immediately want real VR, though.
