Customers are saying

Customers admire the comfort and compatibility of these VR goggles, frequently praising the ease of lens adjustment and the lightweight design. Many appreciate the immersive VR experience and the affordable price point, although some users note challenges with achieving optimal focus and image clarity. The fit is generally considered secure and adjustable for various phone sizes and head shapes. While battery drain is a concern for some VR apps, the overall user experience is largely positive.

VR goggles only allow you to download a few games, none of which are interactive. It only shows a picture and nothing more. To make matters worse it is not compatible with other VR games.

The soft Light-weight foam material this is made of is perfect to fit most any phone without damaging it! (some of the hard plastic ones can scratch your phone and use clamps that will press your power and volume buttons, this one doesn't) and the button that tap the screen aren't visible when using. The head straps are big enough for my head and some others weren't. I'm very happy with it! Also it has the Google cardboard code on the strap for easy setup with Google Cardboard!

It would be nice for a iPhone 7 Plus but...

...not so great for my iPhone X since the lenses don’t adjust far enough towards the middle to see a good picture. A wider phone I’m sure would work great! I will return this item.

Was not really what I was expecting and took a little while to figure out. Apps on phone may have a little to do with quality of experience and graphics were not as well as expected.

I gave this to my mom for Christmas knowing she loves tech. This went over awesome with her. She loves it. I know the technology is still in its infancy but for someone who is a techy this is awesome. She uses it every day mostly with YouTube. She uses a Samsung s5 and is planning on upgrading her phone to get the full benefits. I don't think her phone is cardboard capable so she's missing out on some stuff, but like I said she's in love.

The product itself was easy to use but its only as good as your phone is. Plus you have to download a bunch of different apps to be able to use these.

This is my first use of a VR device. I did not have a lot of hope for a $60 pair of VR googles but gave it a try with Merge. Before I get into the funcationality, let’s talk about the the construction and comfort. I was very leary the googles were almost made entirely of foam. But they seem relatively solid and it is not a complicated design. The real question is will they hold up but only time will tell. In terms of comfort, that is where Merge nailed it. They are light, fit well and comfortable. It makes sense why they used foam , light weight and usuable ( although not as light as the some of the competition.) Overall, I liked the fit and weight. The instructions for use were confusing to me at first , I kept looking for a Merge app because the box indicated it was in the Play Store. There are no specific Merge apps, there are apps designed to work with Merge VR headsets. Go to the Merge website and they will point you to the Merge recommended apps. There are not a lot of apps but they work reasonable well. The apps vary in quality and some are entertaining. However, the few that I tried all seem like novelties and I got bored pretty fast. The clarity is okay and will vary by the app and how your set the lenses. The adjustment of lenses works great and is very easy. The reality is ( get it – hehe) that this is a toy and the gimmick wears off pretty fast. I think the target audience should be kids under 12. This makes sense since this is $60 or less. I can tell you that VR apps are real battery drains so make sure you have a full charge. I have a Google Pixel XL and it lost nearly 1% per minute. So do I recommend them, yes and no. It depends on your expectations. If you are looking for a toy that you do not mind that it will be discarded in a year – then yes. If you are looking for a high resolution fully funtional VR gear – then no. Remember , this is $60 so set the appropriate expectation and think about who it is for.

Haven’t had enough time to try these out the way I would like. Also, as my first pair of VR glasses it is hard to say - as I have nothing to compare them to.

    My Kids Love These Glasses!

My boys aged 9 & 11 have been wanting Virtual Reality goggles for awhile. They were very excited to give the Merge - VR Goggles a try. Set up was reality easy. My iPhone 7 fits perfectly in the glasses. Please note, the size of your phone does matter with these glasses as my husband's 7 plus is too large. You do need to download apps in order to use the goggles which was easy. We chose The Walk and Dig to try out first. Once the head straps and phone are positioned you can adjust the top buttons back and forth to focus the goggles. There are also two toggles underneath the goggles to help focus. The Walk - This is a Virtual Reality tightrope walk across two buildings. You get a 360 degree view and can also look down upon the city. The goggles are a soft foam type material that makes them relatively lightweight and comfortable on your face. The boys really enjoyed using this app. We looked at other potential apps, but many cost additional to download. We will likely purchase a few more in the future, but it is something to consider. I wish more of the educational apps were free. Dig - Dig is a building game similar to Minecraft and it utilizes the Merge Cube to play. This one was a free download from the app store. It took a little bit of time to figure out how to use the menu, but once we realized you have to use the top buttons on the goggles to do so, my boys figured it out. You can select different layouts and build or dig into you cube creation. They really enjoyed this game as well. Overall, I would say the Merge - VR Goggles are fun for older kids and my husband enjoyed it as well. I will say it was cool doing the tightrope from the safety of our kitchen. As with any 3-D type glasses, they do fatigue your eyes after prolonged use. We had our boys take turns and use them for short periods of time to lessen the effects. My youngest wears glasses and he found it harder to focus the lens while he was using them. I found the focus feature to work pretty good. I think the biggest negative so far is trying to find educational apps that are free. My son wanted to explore the ocean and human body, but all of those apps required a purchase. We also tried to download a Star Wars BB-8 game, but it said you have to scan the posters in order to play. Apparently, we do not have them so it wouldn't work. We hope to find more apps in the future for them to try.
