I would recommend it to a friend, more if didn't have to pay a yearly fee, but it might be better then most

Works great with high speed internet connection. I don't mind the annual subscription, however the price is a bit high. what I don't like is the forced online storage of my files to OneDrive. Also had to go through three cards since they could not be activated properly while in store.

To address your concern about OneDrive files, know that you don't have to have your files automatically save to your OneDrive. You can totally save your files to OneDrive, SharePoint, or to a personal device.
