I prefer buying a yearly card so that I don’t have to have a Credit Card attached to the account.

Also at times Best Buy has the best deal for this. I picked mine up for $34.99 it's not often but keep an eye out. P.S. I have the Gamers club unlocked which is probably what helped

One year subscription is the best value,only $5/mo. You can get this card many places but at BB you get rewards! Also many free downloads from Microsoft with this card.

And it's true -- Gold offers more benefits than just online multiplayer, including free games every month (up to $700 worth over a year's membership) and deep discounts on games and add-ons in the Xbox Store.
