Being an Xbox Live Gold member is definitely worth it. Free games are given out each month and you're given access to compete online.

Got it for $5 on a Black Friday sale which is great for what I paid for it. Without the $5 deal I would really only consider 12 month deal

Excellent for playing games live. If your kids love playing or have Xbox is a good deal 3 mths. Tops.
