The title is a joke. This is a great little supercomputer for AI, and not much else. I picked up two of these and am using them to fine-tune a 70B model. MSI really outdid themselves with the heat management on this device, because they stay cool and quiet after hours of peak load, without throttling. I’m QUITE pleased with the performance, especially when compared to the DGX Spark Founders Edition.

I bought the EdgeXpert Mini because I wanted to build and run my own AI models locally, without relying on the cloud or sending sensitive data off-device. This system is perfect for that. The 20-core Arm processor and 128GB of memory give me plenty of headroom for training, fine-tuning, and running models smoothly on a local desktop setup. The NVIDIA Blackwell graphics deliver the GPU performance I was looking for, all in a compact machine that doesn’t dominate my workspace.
I also really appreciate MSI’s design approach here—the chassis feels solid, well-built, and purposeful. MSI has always been a brand I trust when it comes to high-performance PC components, and that confidence carries over into this system. Overall, this is an excellent option if you care about performance, privacy, and running serious AI workloads locally instead of in the cloud.
