After doing a ton of research on different robotic vacuums in all price ranges, I decided that I wanted to stick to a maximum of $600. After narrowing my search to that price range I read hundreds of reviews. I found that most of the less than optimal reviews for this particular vacuum stemmed from issues that were NOT related to the unit itself, most of them had to do with the surface being cleaned - this unit doesn't work well on long shag carpets, internet glitches - this vac needs a wifi connection to map the floor and other user related issues. All in all, the Neato Robotics D5 Connected performed better than I had expected. It even cleans under the beds - something we hadn't done in ages. The gentle navigation mode keeps it from bashing into furniture (this was an issue with other brands). The "no-go" lines that you can draw in the app to keep it out of certain areas (away from dog's water bowl, out of the bathroom, etc.) are MUCH MUCH better than other units that use magnetic strips or unsightly towers.

After the first couple initial cleanings this little guy gets smarter and cleans much more efficiently. Only thing I can say is bad about it, is that it does not stay connected to the internet. I can only use the app about 30% of the time. The rest of the time its disconnected and needs to be rebooted.

After we moved in, I found myself having to vacuum our dark wood floors every other day just to keep the dust at bay. I bought the D5 on sale and it has been a lifesaver. Once it was programmed and updated, I don’t have to do much to keep it on track. The only reason it is 4 stars and not five is that the next model can be told where to go and where not to go - and that is what I will replace this with at the end of this one’s life. I don’t find the barrier strip effective to keep it off the long rug in the living room, where it gets stuck. It manages the bedroom carpet no problem.

This vacuum works great on all kinds of surfaces (wood, tile, marble, carpet, rug). It has powerful suction and relatively large bin capacity. It’s amazing how much dust this picks up. You can schedule cleanings at preferred day and times. However, there are a couple of drawbacks. First, it can get stuck on long strands of thick rugs or loose strings or laces and will “call” for help. Secondly, it can get stuck in really tight spaces if it can’t get out. Lastly, the battery lasts about an hour which is ok for small apartments but has trouble cleaning medium/large homes in a single pass (but it will go back to the base to recharge itself and resume from where it left off)

Read reviews and was skeptical at first, but this thing is great. I have had several of the high end roombas and they are ok but always seemed to get lost and or stuck. The big deciding factor for me was the cleaning pattern. When you watch it, it actually looks like it is doing something other that bouncing around a room like a pinball. It cleans in a percise manner.

I was looking at these vacuum cleaners to give my mom a break from sweeping the hardwood floors. This seemed to fit the bill. Setup was super easy through the App and away we go! Within the App there is an initial vacuum that you should do so it can learn your home’s layout. After that you can setup “no go” lines by drawing them on the initial layout map. After that, initiating or scheduling a vacuum was a snap. Typically if your household has a lot of long hair you should clean the brushes more often. I usually clean the filter and brushes after every cleaning. The old upright used to have a lot of hair stuck in the brushes and was always a pain to get out. This one is such a breeze! I really love how clean the floors are after a vacuuming.

Have not really had huge experience with it yet. Wrapped under the tree for Christmas, but I did use it briefly for a couple days before wrapping. Seems pretty easy to operate and did an okay job. Will like to see how it works with the app and remotely

I love the convenience of this little bot vac. However my original vac only lasted a year and stopped working. Luckily I had purchased Best Buy extended warranty and got a replacement. The current vac is about a year old so I can’t comment on it’s durability. You can’t beat these vacuums for keeping your floors clean while you do nothing! It’s a bit loud on tile but quieter than my dyson. They pick up a lot of dirt and work on carpet or bare floors. I love mine and hope it lasts.

This vacuum is amazing. I want to give it more than five stars! We have way too many pets so it runs everyday. It has great suction, works the house evenly, easy app with all the controls anyone needs, and setting it up was so easy. Customer service was absolutely fantastic when I needed them. (How rare is that to say about customer service from companies?) I bought the unit in January 2019. In July 2020, I was compelled to write this review because this thing is that good. I have been using it several hours daily for all of this time, and I absolutely love it. This is a quality product that the company stands behind!

Does a great job, picked up dirt my dyson missed. It does a good job around furniture and in corners and up against walls. Only issue I find annoying is that it only does 10 foot sections at a time, so if you have a 12 foot room it leaves the last two feet and does that section next. Seems like a waist of time, but no dig deal.

Yes I named my Neato robot Hoggle. He is a reliable and faithful companion in the cleaning duties around the house. I run it 3-5 times a week and he does an amazing job. I am still shocked at just how much my cat sheds, I had no idea. Every now and then he will get in a tussle with a certain chair and get stuck but for the most part he just goes about his business and cleans all the nooks and crannies. I love that he can get under beds and couches without issue. I highly recommend this unit over the "random bounce off things" method of cleaning used by the Roomba series. LOVE IT.

Do you want to vacuum do laundry and take a shower all at the same time? Load the laundry washer, dish washer, turn on the vacuum and take a shower. Takes about 45 minutes for 580 square feet home, on hard laminate floors, about an hour and 15 minutes for laminate and carpet for 1000 square feet. weighs about 25 lbs but helps leave lines in carpet and get better suction on carpet, high torque motor helps from getting stuck. I returned the Samsung 740 for this, best trade ever. Methodically vacuums rooms does perimeter first then paces back and forth not aimlessly roaming bumping into walls.

Very intuitive, excellent navigation, pretty good cleaning (never really checked properly to see whether my Dyson would still pick dust after it). Got bricked by a software update Neato pushed, they fixed it under warranty, about a year ago. Then this week got in a boot cycle, apparently due to the LIDAR, but Neato customer service did a splendid job fixing it. Will buy a few more for our parents.

Not to bad of a vacume other than it needs a clear clean floor to do a good job... picks up well and limits the times a week I have to sweep up from 2-3 times a week to once. I’m happy with my purchase.

We purchased the Neato D5 Connected robot vacuum after reviewing several models. Best Buy happened to have this one on sale, so we bought it. I'm glad we did! It does a good job of vacuuming up our house with 2 cats. Only a couple of times has it lost connection to our wifi, but not really an issue. The app is cool in that you can run a special cycle and create no-go zones so you don't have to use the magnetic strips. Very satisfied!

Interesting product. Mapped out my upstairs and does indeed obey the no go lines I made on the floor plan. It will get lost if the starting point is not the dock. Not random like the Roomba but does a great job of cleaning more precisely and much faster. When it done cleaning it just zooms back to its dock unlike the Roomba which is usually wondering around looking for it’s dock until it runs out of battery power.

I like my floors to be clean because we never wear shoes in the house. The first time I let this thing go I was amazed by how much hair and nasty stuff this thing picked up. My floors and hard wood and tile. It cleans the entire floor, about 1500sqft. Only 2 complaints I have about this thing is its ability to stay connected to the wifi to control it. It will connect just fine then about a day later it will just keep saying its offline. I've tried 2.4 ghz and 5ghz. It's said offline for 2 weeks now but it still cleans by the schedule I set. The other thing is the magnetic strip that comes with it is useless. It always runs right over it.

This is a great way to keep your house clean with minimal effort on my part. It’s so nice to come home and see my house has been cleaned and not see pet hair all over the place.

This was our first purchase of a robotic vacuum. Our initial concerns prior to the purchase were all erased upon using our new D5 Neato Vacuum. It is able to reach areas that we were unable to reach prior to purchasing. The amount of debris picked up during the operation of the machine is amazing. We use it on both our hardwood and carpeted areas. The app is easy to install and utilize. If you were hesitant to make such a purchase before such as we were I would recommend that you reconsider. I believe you will be more than pleased.
