Customers are impressed with the Botvac D7's cleaning performance, navigation, and suction power, frequently praising its ease of use and mapping capabilities. However, some users experienced issues with the brush, Wi-Fi connectivity, and dustbin size, while concerns were also raised regarding the vacuum's long-term reliability and cost. Amazing robotic vacuum. Goes everywhere. Creates a map of where it went and didn’t go because of an obstruction. Gets more efficient with each run. Run this all the time, and can control from your phone.

Weve only had it for about 6 weeks. It vacuums very well, is quieter than I expected, and does a good job overall. The only downside I can see is if you have a dog that sheds ( we do), the hair will plug yhe port between the brush and the dustbin, and will need cleaning out regularly. Slso, bottery life is less than i expected, but overall a very good vacuum.

I get this message all the time, even when nothing has gone wrong. On the positive side, WiFi connection was easy; after trial and error I created two floor plans; cleaning is good enough and the battery life is fine. Zones are a little disappointing as they are only rectangular. But, when I try to create No Go Lines the machine has a cow. After several hours effort I have some on the downstairs plan, but I don't know if they have saved to the server. But upstairs....the robot totally refuses to cooperate. After hours with support I just gave up. I had to delete the lines to get it to run at all from the application. I bought the robot specifically for this option and the software is awful. We're very disappointed after all the research and spending so much money.

We had one of the original Neato botvac D series and it lasted our farm family with inside/outside dogs 3 years running everyday on top of construction. We finally decided it was time to upgrade, and this vacuum has met all our expectations and more. It docks with no issues (our old one could never quite make it back to its dock), it doesn’t get stuck and confused randomly as our old one did and it still makes patterns, so you know where it’s been. We love it. Our in-laws have all said they will get a Neato next time as they all hate their roombas. The only downfall is it is a bit more expensive than others. We just know the brand works, so it was worth it to us.

This thing is amazing! I've put off buying one for at least a year and didn't realize just how wrong I was living my life. This thing picks up way more than even my big upright Hoover or Rainbow! It gets a little confused if it isn't 100% on the base exactly right (like if you move it between extra bases on different floors) but you can usually just bump it and it's fine. Additionally, the LIDAR system of this robot means it can work in complete darkness, unlike the camera systems of most competitors. Unless you're prepared to leave every light in the house on, bypass Roomba, etc and stick to the Neato products. I'd definitely recommend this to everyone I know.

It is pricey, but works great and is tough. Actually cleans methodically, and allows to set scheduled and crest your own zone maps so not the whole place has to be cleaned every single time.

We use this in out basement so we don't have to carry our larger vacuum up and down the stairs. It mapped out our basement and the app allowed me to specify the various rooms which allows me to specify which room I want it to work in. Usually we just have it do the whole basement, but a few times it didn't enter one of the back rooms so I had to run it the next morning for that specific room. It did so flawlessly. We had a Samsung robotvac before this which used cameras for navigation, which meant we had to leave the lights on for it to work or run it during the day. This one uses lasers and works perfectly in the dark.

Picked this because I wanted radar based mapping (don't have to leave lights on when it runs). The mapping is excellent, as are the cleaning reports that show exactly where it cleaned. Like any of the robot vacuums that don't have a self-emptying base, you will likely need to empty the dust bin after every cleaning (and maybe multiple times in the same cleaning if you don't run it often). However, after owning multiple robot vacuums, I think this model has the easiest to empty bin - so that's a plus. Cleaning pattern is quick, and while it has gotten itself stuck a few times, it is rare.

Originally purchased a D6 and then upgraded to two D7s (one for each level of our home) because the price went down. At MSRP of 799 I cant say that I would purchase these, but at anywhere between 500-600 I feel like they are reasonable. The app is fine the robot is very capable. That said it was a nightmare getting the floorplan setup. Like a legitimate nightmare. It took 5 runs to get a floorplan because the lidar on top of the robot kept getting caught on various things. Honestly at this price point the device should be able to understand when something is too low for it to go underneath, or at the very least the lidar should have sensors/bumpers on it. In addition... I would suggest that Neato allow users to create a floorplan WITHOUT actually having to run a cleaning cycle simultaneously. This would ensure that the bot gets trapped on less obstacles before getting tangled in various things around the house. It would allow users to establish nogo lines and such before the suction and roller had the opportunity of getting wrapped in things.

Also louder... but considering cleaning is the priority, it’s worth it. If you’re looking for quieter the iRobot series is probably your choice, but the Neato Room scanning (vs bump and go on walls) has always been an impressive feature as is the mapping of paths and room configurations via the App

    Worthy upgrade from XV signature

So I've had the Neato XV signature for about 4 years (Name Artoo, yeah, I'm so witty). Artoo is still working fine, though I've had to update his battery and brush over the last 4 years. Unfortunately, Artoo can still get stuck in certain placed, makes a sad bleating sound, until I find him and fix whatever was causing his distress. Well, figured 4 years was long enough to see what the updated robots could do. When the D7, (I call him D2, yeah, more sharp wit, you're welcome) went on sale, (Saved about $275), I pulled the trigger. Set up on the phone was painless, and I was anxious to see about the "No-Go lines". Ran him once to get the layout of the house(Via the software) opened the map and placed the No go lines. Needless to say, the no go lines are a godsend. No more laying down of magnetic strips, no more worrying about the robot getting stuck in placed with multiple wires (like the computer rooms), and no more venturing into uncharted territory (my 7 year old kid's room which looks like a tornado went thru it) with multiple pitfalls and areas to get stuck in. The dust bin is much larger than the older models, and easier to clean. I also noticed that navigation is much much better than the XV. He actually seems to be getting smarter. He no longer bumps into things (like the tripod stand holding my short throw projector in my bedroom), but actually runs circles around each leg of the tripod. I love the straight lines D2 makes, like when you first mow your lawn. I have a dog that sheds a ton, and this little guy picks up and fills a bin of fur each day, yeah, that much hair. In the last two weeks he has only got stuck twice, mostly on my kid's sock (Really? The first thing my kid does is take off one sock when he gets home and throws it in the middle of the living room? What gives?!) or a low hanging wire that wrapped around his "head, his vision tower at the top" This was quite bizarre to come up on, (possible suicide attempt?). Each time my phone alerted me and told me on the map exactly where he was. No longer did I have to hope the robot would not run out of batteries before successfully telling me where he got stuck. With Artoo I've had to trace his "clean lines" to try and find out where he got stuck (like following Hansel and Gretel). With D2, the map of the house tells me exactly where he is and what the issue is. I can't recommend this new robot enough. Knowing what I do now about his abilities and capabilities, I would have gladly paid full price for this. As for Artoo, sadly, he has not had much work to do, and I may delagate him to the kitchen or my kid's bedroom only. I don't know, he's still family after all, maybe just let him retire by my bedside, do spot cleans. Future updates based on the website and the way the mapping works strongly suggests that in the near future, you'll be able to tell the D7 to just clean one room (ie, the living room or kitchen which needs more frequent cleaning), instead of making the robot clean the entire house even if there are rooms that are already clean. Of course, it's also Alexa enabled, though I really just start it from my phone everytime.

Wow this review is awesome! Its kinda a sad story for Artoo though, somehow we feel retirement was more mandatory than voluntary! At least his younger brother will take up the slack! We're delighted to hear the D7 is working better than you thought, we really appreciate the level of feedback. Thanks again for the awesome review! Thank you for staying in the Neato Family! Very impressed with the D7. Love the mapping technology and being able to see exactly where it cleaned and where it has not. Love that it goes back to the base and charges enough to go finish the job. The fact that you can now do multiple maps is great for different floors in the house. It is also great on carpet and dog/cat hair. I first bought another name brand vacuum. Tried it for a few days and was not impressed. It had a very random pattern and if I was not sitting there watching it i would have no way of knowing where it cleaned and where it still needed to clean. Also was not good on carpet. I returned that and bought the D7.

Great vacuum. It cleans in most every nook and cranny more thorough than I could ever with a regular vacuum. I have mostly hard floors and transitions from hard floor to area rug is flawless. I would give it a 5 but the app needed to run it needs some improvement.

Weekly vacuuming used to be plenty. Then we added a second cat, and it felt like the fur around the house grew exponentially. We decided to invest in a Neato vacuum (ours is lovingly named DJ Neato). I don't know how we lived without it!! Daily cleanings and the bin is always full, and I'm always amazed. I love the maps of cleanings it sends you, and the no-go lines are so useful. The cats were curious and a little nervous at first, but now Eleri sits in its way without a care in the world. It has been a wonderful addition into our household!

This has been a great purchase, very accurate and does great! Once it learns your layout, it works perfect every time. The thing with these though is they're not as smart as a human so you have to think proactively before you use it just as you normally would when vacuuming. Be sure anything that could get caught up in it is picked up and you are golden. Also the D-Shape gets into the tight spots and it can lift itself up some to maneuver through the tricky areas. Works perfect every time using the onboard LiDAR system.
