Very accurate, but a little heavy for a child

I bought this for my nephew's birthday (10 y/o). It's a little heavy for him once you include the battery and play for any extended period of time. It's obviously very loud, so can't sneak up around the corner. The gun is extremely fun, but balls get lost quickly as they bounce off everything unlike the arrows. I also hate the reloading of the gun - it takes patience which doesn't work well for "battling." It takes some patience and if you nudge it the wrong way or the spring pops up, then you'll lose all the ammo. Poor design.

I purchased this for my son, a nerf fanatic. It seems fun, I figured the foam balls would fly more accurate then the traditional nerf darts. The traditional ones often get squished in the mechanism, stepped on etc. This includes a large capacity magazine (40 rounds) and is motorized, this big boy takes 6 D batteries!! Alternatively, there's a Nerf rechargeable battery pack that's available (sold separately). Overall, this would make a nice addition to anyone's Nerf arsenal. One of the negatives is the magazine, there are 4 springs that need to be pushed down to load the nerf balls, but they pop up rather easily.

Tons of fun, pretty accurate, good velocity in each shot, kids have a lot of fun playing with this toy gun, can't beat the on sale price.

Large capacity Nerf Rhival with a touchy magazine

This Nerf Rhival has a large capacity magazine, but it’s quite difficult to fully load without accidentally triggering it and losing all your ammo! I suppose it helps after you have the magazine loaded, but it would be difficult in a “Nerf War”. In spite of that, it’s a great Nerf gun!

Definitely make sure to keep this away from eyes and valuables. Fun but definitely not for unsupervised children .

Nerf Rival is awesome but this gun is not

My kids have a few of the manual nerf rival guns and I absolutely think Nerf Rival is awesome compared to other nerf products. The system shoots farther, faster and more accurately than any of the dart-type products. So, when I saw this on sale for half price, I grabbed it. My advice: stick to the manual products. The way this gun works is that there is a small conveyor belt that rolls across the top of the clip dragging the balls forward towards two rapidly spinning wheels that propel the ball out of the gun. This causes several problems. 1. There is a lag of about 2 seconds from the time you pull the trigger until the first shot leaves the gun (after the first shot, it is essentially "primed" and this delay disappears for the remaining 39 shots but it's still annoying). 2. If you try to fire rapidly, the spinning wheels cannot get up to full speed between shots so every shot after the first one is at a significantly decreased speed which means it doesn't travel as fast or as far causing it to drop and it the target much lower than the first shot (it's fine if you pause between each shot, but that defeats the purpose of it being motorized). 3. It is noisy as all heck so there is no chance for a sneak attack. Add to all of that the fact that the clip is about a foot long and six inches wide making it awkward to hold and the fact that it takes six D cell batteries so it weighs something close to a metric-ton (slight exageration) and it becomes nearly worthless. I can fire faster, more accurately and more quietely with the manual guns with much less awkward use at a much lower cost. I won't take it back because it does work, but I wouldn't recommend buying it either (Get the Ner Rival Artemis instead).

This is one of the most fun guns I have had by far from Nerf. It's great to lay down the law on my sister when I whip around the corner and launch the balls at her. We just have a ball with the gun. I would recommend this to any big Nerf fan and Nerf Battler.

My son loves nerf guns and this has become one of his favorites. A bit heavy though and you have to be careful with the cartridge as there is a little button that can pop the top off for loading but will shoot them all out if it’s already loaded and accidentally bumped.

These are great guns. I bought 5 of these for my nephews to have a good time spending time with each other despite the age differences. They are a great amount of fun. They take 6 "D" batteries just incase you are wondering

This shoots fast. Not easy to load ammo quickly. Cant find extra magazine either. I suggest buying the rechargeable battery makes gun lighter and shoots harder and faster than regular batteries.

Great automatic for quick shots. Not too heavy. Wish it could be a little more silent but it’s still fun to use.
