Perfect for a home office
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Wi-Fi access point is a great choice for anyone with a home office. The setup process was straightforward and fast—I had it up and running in under 15 minutes without any issues. One feature I particularly appreciate is the ability to aggregate two Ethernet ports on the router for connecting a local network drive. This feature significantly improved performance, especially when multiple users were accessing the network storage at the same time, resulting in faster data transfer and a smoother overall experience.

The Best!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m always happy with purchasing a Nighthawk! This is my third one over the years and it never disappoints. My Sonos, outdoor ring cameras, and all other devices do well with no struggle on the network. If you are debating between a Nighthawk and mesh network go with the Nighthawk! I have no complaints. My advice is to make sure you get the appropriate router per your square footage.

Amazing Router in Small Package
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Aweosme router I bought to replace an original Google WiFi mesh system that died. Decided to buy a nice router this time around and install it in the room that is the center point of the home. I’m glad I got a new router instead of a new mesh system and don’t regret it one bit. Have plaster walls throughout my single story 1600 sq. ft. home and get great speeds in every single room. Have Spectrum 1gbps service and over Wifi I am getting around 900 mpbs in the room furthest away. Out in the front and back yards have decent coverage I’m getting 200-300 mpbs which is much better than my old Google Wifi where coverage and speed where nonexistent. Don’t make the mistake I made. I first got the RS500 model but for about $100 difference It’s worth to get the RS600 because it will provide you a bit more coverage which affects the speeds as well. I noticed the improved coverage in both the front and back yards. Also bought the CM3000 Netgear Cable Modem and they seem to be working perfectly fine together. Setting it up was pretth easy with the app. You won’t regret it.

Sleek Fits Nice.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Small foot print. Fits nice in most places stands upright. Easy set up Wi-Fi coverage is not the same as my older model NETGEAR RAX500. If it's wired direct to TV or PC works great. Returned it tho and going to upgrade later. Maybe with firmware updates will get better Wi-Fi coverage. I have a 2 story home so for a smaller single floor home may work better.

Pretty Solid WiFi Option
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really not bad for WiFi. Within 40mbs~ of Ethernet. Actually very impressive. Decent house coverage. In a poor location in my new house at the moment and still able to reach the other side of a 2700 sq ft area. Connection a bit slower on the far other side of house, closer to 500mbs instead of 960, but that’s par for course and most likely a result of the weird spot it’s in. 8k streaming works fine with multiple devices running. Again, pretty cool for WiFi. Difference between this router and previous 6E router was substantial, 350~mbs, if that matters to you. Also doesn’t look like a weird crystal monster, like some of their others—might be a plus or minus if you like that kinda thing.

Good if you have fast internet
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice router, but it was hard to make use of the improvements. I had a RAX80 and since I only have 1GBs service where I live, the BE18000 didn't get me any improvements.

RS600 Nighthawk review
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far everything has been excellent. Setup went smoothly, which almost never happens with any electronics device. Speeds and range have been better than expected. As long as it lasts a few years I will be more than satisfied.

Almost great, but needs more.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The RS600 is a pretty great router but these are the major issues I had for a router that cost 500 dollars give us more Ethernet ports at least 4 T1000 gigbit ports and then a separate 10gigbit port and then a WAN port also please have dual USB 3.2 port or even a USB C port on the back so you can support more functionally. ASUS offers more. One other issues is why we cant get software that allows you to view files while on the go that's no complicated to use.

Really bad: a warning
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went against my better instincts and bought this router instead of an Asus, but nothing really prepared me for what I saw. Please read before dropping $500. First the good. Wifi7 is insanely fast and the bandwidth on this router is great. The 2 10Gb ports are great as well. Now the bad. It appears the developers of Netgear firmware don't actually understand networking and have basically just hacked this together. After doing some research (probably should have done it before buying) it seems like this is a well known and long running problem. Their routers are riddled with security vulnerabilities and firmware is almost never updated. It's hard to explain everything I saw, but here's a sample. There is no firewall, just something they call "protection engine" that falsely flags and blocks normal local network traffic. No settings, you can only turn it on or off. Dont buy it if you have IoT devices. Speaking of settings, there are almost no settings for anything, no QoS, the logging is unusable, and the configuration options are just bizarre. If you set DNS servers, it will forward it's own local address to clients and act as an unencrypted DNS proxy with no way to change it. With ipv6, it will in some cases completely ignore the DHCP settings and instead forward the external address of the DHCP server to local clients and tell them it's the DNS server. At first it seems like malice, but it's probably just severe incompetence. Important to note, this router will likely give you all kinds of problems with modern stateless routing infrastructure (i.e. if you have gigabit fiber and this is sitting at the network edge). I had to reset my modem at least once per day with the default ipv6 settings because the router was causing it to choke on traffic. I was able to fix it but this is way beyond what most people know how to do. The root problem of all this is the "auto config" doesn't actually follow any proper protocols for determining network configuration, it just does the easiest thing the developers think will get you on the internet and everything else is basically smoke and mirrors.

Great speed and easy management
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had a R8000P for many years and I loved it but it no longer could provide the speeds that I was paying for. It was a no brainer to update to the RS600, internet speed has almost tripled and device management is a breeze.

The firmware and subscription models ruin it
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The firmware and associated app are poorly made and obfuscates many of the settings an administrator might want to fine tune. Netgear is 100% all in on monthly subscription services and actively makes it difficult to administer your router without them. My biggest complaint is I seemingly cannot disable Anywhere Access, which allows remote login to your router from the Internet... I *thought* disabled it but every time I use the Nighthawk app it says I'm connected via Anywhere Access and not locally (I can switch to local, but that doesn't give me peace of mind). And I can't even check the status of the setting toggle because its seeming disappeared from the Nighthawk app (and I can't find an associated setting using the web interface). When I use the hamburger menu and tap Settings -> Security the only option available is to enable Netgear Armor (a subscription service) and nothing about Anywhere Access. Netgear has really screwed the pooch. I would not recommend you buy this router.
