Opted for this extender after a "pro" at Best Buy suggested trying a more powerful modem (Motorola) and routher (Netgear) as opposed to this. Got it all put together and discovered there is no phone jack in the back of the modem they suggested. With Comcast, you have to have a phone jack to plug your house phone into or it won't work. After getting two pcs, a Tivo and a Blue Ray hooked up, I had to disconnect them all and reconnect them to the Comcast combo modem/router. I still couldn't get a signal in the back of my small house. No improvement. Then opted for this extender (WN2000RPT). Got it connected but none of my devices could get on the network. Error message said the password was wrong. Called Comcast to verify password. They did, still no connection. Netgear help desk tried to sell me a premium plan right off the bat and then suggested I call Comcast to discuss my problem and then call them back. After holding 30 minutes the first time, I'll just take this thing back.

The device works just fine, very happy. The set up instructions could be better, but got it going. Very happy.

I now can watch netflix's on the other side of the house, and the wireless devices work better all over.

So simple, it is amazing. cured my dead spots in the back of the house. A very elegant solution.

I have rebuilt a computer, put in memory, set up modems and 3 routers, and have never had such a bad experience. I called their tech support and we were on the phone for 4 hours totat, and finally the tech support apologized and gave up. He had me try two computers (one with windows 7, the other XP) and he failed on the final step repeatedly with both computers. One of the techs made me make so many changes to my desktop settings that it doesn't sync automatically with my router anymore. He recommended I exchange it for another WN2000RPT, then a 3000. This was an unacceptable experience and I cannot imagine buying Netgear peripherals--equipment that doesn't function and tech support that repeatedly fails.

Would like to have a more detailed installation manual included with the product

We were having trouble with wireless internet in our home and this solved the problems.

needs to be reset on nearly a daily basis. makes for a frustrating experience.

Works gr8 & very simplistic! Really gives an extension to your router!

In a couple of words, it does not work as it should, signal gets lost, need to reset often and computer slows down dramatically when signal appears to be lost. Would return it to Best Buy but I don't have the original packaging anymore. I would invest the money on a faster, better modem

Brought it home, set it up, extended the network. No Muss, No Fuss

Now with my Iphone I can control ITunes from outside by the pool.

Just didn't work and casused other network issues. Took it back. Best Buy refunded all and were more than accommodating. The Geek folks agreed about the effectiveness. Had I chatted with them 1st, would have saved a lot of productive time. The service of return was very good.

Extended the wifi range as advertised and was easy to setup.

Got the repeater after confirming with the cable guy the broadband signal to the house was strong- the issue i was trying to resolve was the deadspots at home and saw the reviews that this product would do the trick It was on sale and I used my rewards for 10 bucks off. Great deal so far Got it home went throught the setup steps: plugging it into the wall; finding the network that I wanted to connect to; going through the steps to connect the extended network to the home network; even got the five bars on the wifi signal indicator throughout the house. No issues. But I can't get traffic from the extended network. Tried a reset; tried powering down multiple times. Tried a hard reset on my router but still no connection. This one goes back.

might be ok for shorter distance, could not do the job

I intended to use this to extend my wi-fi footprint to my theater room. After the initial setup, it worked well. But as time goes by (about a day), this device becomes inoperative until I reset it. I went to the customer support website to see if there was a firmware upgrade (or something else) that might correct this problem, but to no avail. I will be returning this for a refund.

I was disappointed because I was never able to get this product to function properly. Even tech support was not able to get me up and going. As a result I returned it and bought the Belkin extender instead which is working great!

loses signal or network connection.......shows all green lights.....but no connection....constantly having to reprogram it.....excellent paper weight
