I got this camera right before Nikon announced the Nikon zfc, and when I say right before I mean barely 24hours had passed since I purchased my Z50. I’m so glad I did since I probably would have pre-ordered the zfc and regretted the fact I didn’t buy the z50 for the very nice grip it has and just the overall “modern mirrorless” look. The zfc is pretty much a Z50 in a retro body minus the grip, but I think the body limits it to only properly using small compact lenses (16-50 kit-28mm f2.8) unlike the Z50 that has a PROPER grip for using big and small lenses alike. On another note, one thing I didn’t expect from the Z50 is how solid it feels and just how much ”quality” heft it has for its fairly small size. It feels great in the hand and it honestly makes you want to go out and take photos of everything. Previously I was using a Nikon D3200 with the 35mm and 50mm which was a solid package to take pics but I just got to the point like many photographers nowadays that felt it was time to make the mirrorless switch after many years of using a dslr. Needless to say this camera has all the bells and whistles you can ever expect from a top of the line APSC camera of today, I hope to build my Z mount glass arsenal in the future and beyond. Picture quality is beyond great even with this dinky 16-50mm lens it came with. Video quality is very good as well but not as great as the photographs this thing pumps out. If you’re on the fence about purchasing one do yourself a favor and just throw down the cash and get one. Period.

Waited a long time for a Nikon mirrorless camera after using various other brands over the years. Got into digital photography with a Nikon D90 back in the day, and have always been most comfortable with the Nikon system. I bought this camera with the 16-50 lens and the FTZ adapter. Using both the kit lens and a 70-300mm zoom I've been able to get great photos. I do a lot of bird photography, and this camera has been perfect for that with the lenses that can be adapted to this camera. It is easy to use, the ergonomics are great, and with the kit lens attached it makes a super light camera great for travel. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a great mirrorless camera. Don't be fooled by the megapixel count as 20.9 MP is plenty (see my pictures for evidence!).

I purchased this camera for my family and internship with college (more so college). I have taken pictures since roughly 2006 and this camera after all of the videos seemed to be the best. It was ready in an hour and promised and checkout was easy. Also the staff and Best Buy was able to assist me in finding the best carry case for my new device. I plan to get me a new lense soon to add to my collection because I only have the one that came with the camera.

This camera is great. For me it adjust well with the lighting on what I'm taking a picture of, I like the camera lens that you can turn it to where it will be in enough and not sticking out and I love the screen where you move it at an angle that you need it at and if you tap on it you are also able to take a picture. I have taken so many pictures since I got it to see where it works better and it takes amazing pictures both inside and outside a building or home. The only thing that I can't do is taking picture really far away but it would make sense for the size of the lens and with that I can always buy a bigger one depending on what I need to take a picture of.

This camera fits in the hand very well, takes amazing pictures and 4k video look impressive, also works extremely well with my previous 18-140mm lens using the adapter... however the adapter will add about an inch to the length of the lens... but the results are outstanding... loving my Z-50 !
The attached pictures illustrate the Z-50 with adapter and 18-140mm /67mm lens, and compared in size to the Nikon D7000

First of all, I have owned many mirrorless cameras (APS-C and M4/3) and this one is by far my favorite. I purchased the camera open box satisfactory (16-50mm lens included) with very low shutter count. Camera was flawless. The only thing was that it didn't come with a battery or charger (bought them on another for cheap). I purchased a 50-250 Z lens and I am very happy with the results. We live close to a Zoo and we have taken a few pictures with both lenses. Pictures came out very sharp. I am going to try shooting video this weekend (Let's see how it goes).

This was an open box. Although it did not come with a battery, nor the battery cover on the bottom of the camera, it takes great pictures.

The Z50 is an awesome little camera. For the size and price, can’t beat it. I purchased the FTZ adapter too and I can use all my F mount glass.

This camera is a bang for the price!! I have not stop using this camera since day one, the 4K video is outstanding, also is constantly getting updates in Nikon.com, if you want to start with mirrorless and you don't mind that is crop sensor, this is the camera.

I bought this as a second camera to my full frame Nikon. I love it!! Great camera, amazing features, battery life good, and pictures are amazing and exactly what you'd expect from a Nikon!! My only regret was I didn't get the 2 lens kit!

Great camera, EXCEPT it doesn't have a 5:4 ratio image size setting, as required for Instagram posts. Huge disappointment there, since IG is so popular. The camera only has 1:1 (square), 24:14 and 24:16 ratio settings, requiring manual cropping afterwards to post on IG (results in lost image areas or black bars at top and bottom.) Huge mistake by Nikon IMHO.
