I loved this coffee maker for about 8-9 months, then it began, what is generally referred to as, "the 5 beeps of death". I was able to get it working again for a short time by taking it apart and thoroughly cleaning it, but it began again about 2 months later. It last just about a year before completely dying.

Purchased this product in August ‘19. The coffee maker quit working little over a year later. The maker will only dispense about 1-2 ounces then shut off. Disappointed for the price and expected quality. I was offered 30% off by Ninja for a new maker but it is not worth it if it doesn’t last.

This is the second time I have tried this product. The first time it worked great but after a 9 months stopped making coffee. Finally had enough and returned for a new model. Guess what? After 10 months, same issues (not making coffee, no matter how many times I cleaned it). I’m done with this product. Looks flashy, but doesn’t last long.

Fantastic for about a year, then the coffee pot would sporadically stop brewing before the amount you chose. No amount of cleaning or descaling would help. Ninja website was ridiculously unhelpful and only has a 1 year extended warranty.

We were so hopeful for this machine but only after 2 weeks, and 6 cycles, it failed to brew, pull water and heat. Tried everything research could suggest without voiding the warranty. Returned it to the store without issue, Thanks Best Buy for an easy return +1 star for the in-store return for an online purchase.

Very nice but still can't pull me from my Keurig

I've had this for about a month now and have made several types and pots of coffee. I had forgotten about the aroma a freshly brewed pot fills the kitchen with. I've been spoiled by Keurig machines for the past 7 or so years and it wasn't going to be an easy task to walk away from them and start brewing pots again. I still can't do it every time, but there is room for both on my countertop so they both will stay. It's perfect for weekends while I'll be home and having more than 1 cup or when friends come by. I'll stick to my Keurig for mornings before work when I just want one cup. I know the Ninja can make single cups as well but the cleanup is the same as a pot and it's just not as quick. I started using the built in filter but quickly switched to the paper filters once I realized how many grounds were going down the sink when trying to clean it. Similar to the "brew your own" filters for the Keurig. Kind of defeats the purpose of quick when it takes longer to get it clean than to make the cup with it. It's winter time so ice coffee will have to wait a few more months but I am looking forward to brewing some coffee specifically for ice. I have no doubts it'll do a great job at it. Overall, I do really like the Ninja. It looks classy on the counter, makes a nice cup of coffee and is simple to set up and use. It's just cumbersome making coffee this way again after so many years of the K-cups. Perhaps I'll get used to it when my Keurig finally gives out and I don't get another one.

The coffee pot does a lot, just doesn't do a lot well. The frother was weak, the coffee never tasted right. After just a couple weeks it suggested a cleaning. We did what the manual said exactly, after that the coffee tasted so bad and burnt it was undrinkable. So I don't suggest it.

    Unreliable & Horrible Customer Service

We've had our Ninja Coffee Bar for 2 months now, and a couple weeks ago it started telling us that it needed to be cleaned after every use. If we didn't clean it, it would not brew. I called customer service, and the will replace the base unit, however, I have to pay $20 S&H, and it'll take 4-6 weeks. When I complained, they said it's stated in the user manual. Yes, the user manual I don't get to see until after I've purchased it. And, surprise surprise, there was no supervisor available to speak to. And there's no guarantee the replacement works either.

This is the second Ninja Coffee Bar I own. This one offers the same flexibility as the prior model, it can brew in many different sizes and brew strengths. This model includes its own built-in milk frother. The frother is just a motorized whisk that just spins the milk. No heat and just spins the milk rapidly until it froths a bit. What is the point? I found this option to be completely useless and just another thing to break. The build quality is similar to earlier models – plastic and cheap looking. It does have a retro 80’s look withs large buttons that are easy to read and nice LED lights but I just do not like it. There are far better built coffee makers in the same price range . As with prior models, it does have a removable water reservoir . That is one feature I love on coffee makers – it is easy to fill and clean. There is a little lever below the coffee grinds container called "drip stop." It does what it sounds like- it stops drips of coffee after the brewing cycle. If you do not flip the level, the machine will drip coffee onto the heating element when you remove the carafe. It is a handy feature. So let’s talk about how well it makes coffee. If you read reviews online you will see everything from it makes undrinkable to absolutely delicious coffee. Those statements are totally accurate because it takes practice to get this machine to make a good cup of coffee. Like the prior model, you really have to vary how much coffee you use , the brew intensity and even change it up when you make larger amounts of coffee. I would suggest using more coffee grinds than what the manufacturer recommends and start with “Rich Brew.” It does take a while to find the correct amount and settings but if you keep trying, you will get a good cup of coffee. One note on the filter, it does come with a built in metal mesh filter. I personally found that grains get through and the coffee tends to be a bit bitter so I would suggest using paper filters. In summary - Likes - Single coffee setting Flexibility of brews Brew directly into a cup Intense flavor once you get it right. Removable water reservoir Dislikes - Some inconsistency in intensity of coffee. Takes practice to make a good cup of coffee. Cheap looking. Enormous counter space needed – 15 inches tall, 12 inches wide and 7 inches deep. Overall , this is not a bad coffee machine but it is not for everyone. There are better machines at the same or even less money. If this was under $150, I would recommend it, but at $200 I cannot. I think if Ninja would increase the build quality, stop trying to make a machine that is all things and get back to basics they would be more successful.

    Brilliant Design

I was so skeptical about giving up my Keurig. The Ninja takes up about the same counter space as the Keurig. The Ninja Coffee Bar is such a brilliant design, however, that the only thing I miss is the convenience of various coffee and tea flavors readily available. The Ninja has a built in scoop which is extremely handy and a built in milk frother, also very handy. It comes with a permanent filter, or can be used with paper filters. They thought of everything including a handle built into the water reservoir for easy grasping, a brew basket that easily swings out with a removable filter basket for quick cleanup, a drip stop, and it cleans itself! It can fit a variety of container sizes from a regular size cup to an extra large travel mug or you can brew a half or full carafe. There are different brew strengths built in as well. The set up was easy - although the cleaning takes over an hour so plan ahead for that first time use. The Ninja also comes with a book of various hot and cold coffee recipes. Brilliant! I did have a lot of Keurig pods left but I found I can open them (even the Cappuccino cups) and use them in the brew basket.

This coffeemaker never made coffee that tasted right. Always too strong or just plain gross. I just used it as an espresso maker for the most part. Now, it has quit working. Only had it 1 year! So disappointed.

I am not very impressed with the Ninja. To me it is a coffee maker with a frother attachment. If you want to make specialty drinks and have a good coffee maker now, I would purchase a stand alone frother.

The Ninja Coffee Bar System claims to be more than a coffeemaker. I'll admit that while we had a "gourmet" coffeemaker years ago, we've been drinking K-Cups for some time now because of the convenience. The Ninja Coffee Bar System has us re-thinking that. What Ninja has done is put together a versatile coffeemaking system that seems to do everything right. First, it has a water reservoir that it draws from, based on drink sizes you specify each time. Second, it has multiple brew settings that really do make a noticeable difference taste-wise. Third, it has a frother that is not steam-based so you can froth both hot and cold. Add to that little touches such as a drip stopper, a platform to hold mugs closer, an included permanent brew filter, and we find coffee making actually fun and rewarding. Hopefully it will continue working faithfully for years to come, but the 3-year warranty does inspire confidence.

Bought this coffee maker in April 2019. In August 2019, started having problems with the coffee maker. It kept stopping in the middle of brewing. The problem got worse and now in November 2019, it is totally non responsive. Don't buy this coffee maker. Very unreliable.
