I submitted a review on this months ago when I first got the machine with my initial thoughts. I liked the fact that it had cleaning functionality, but that's way more of a fatal flaw at this point. I was concerned that my old single-serve coffee maker was more convenient, but I've really grown fond of using the scoop and permanent filter, I like the ability to brew a whole pot, and it's also great that I can get hot water from it without having to trick the pods. The real bonus with this rig is the integrated frother! Wow, now I can make my own lattes and cappuccinos. It's easy to use, and it removes for easy cleaning. I'm very happy with this! After a month of use, the "clean" light came on, and it continues to come on very frequently. At some point, the display actually says "CLN" rather than the time, so while it goes through its cleaning cycle, if we want coffee, I have to use the Keurig. I've used descaling solution and white vinegar, and the "clean" light just comes back on after 2-3 uses. It doesn't have an automatic shut-off, so it's wasting energy and generating heat all day long :( I love the convenience of the frother, that's still quite fun to use and easy to clean. That cleaning light is really annoying, so at this point I wouldn't really recommend the machine.

This is a very high quality and quick coffee maker. I got tasty coffee that I used to get from Starbucks and I enjoy the taste and richness. Different modes make it possible to brew different kinds of beverage. However, the measurements are not accurate. For instance, there is a mode called Specialty which should give you 4oz which is enough for a cup of Latte/Cappucino but it always gives about 5 or 5.5oz. On the side, there is a frother & integrated spoon for measuring the right amount of coffee. Very convenient and it's all about the little things. Frother works quietly and gives a great amount of froth in about 20 seconds or less (45 seconds is recommended though). I mostly use Cup and Cup 2X and have never used it for a full carafe. I use CUP mode for filling my Contigo 16oz which leaves enough room for frothed milk at the end. I highly recommend this. The high price worth the quality.

    Goodbye Keurig..Hello Ninja Coffee Bar

I have had a Keurig individual pod system for the past 3-4 years. It has served its purpose - but the two things that bothered me the most were the price of the individual pods and that I could only make one cup at a time (not cool when you have company). Well, the Ninja Coffee bar can do everything that my Keurig could do (cheaper) plus so much more. The Ninja Coffee Bar is able to make a cup, a travel mug or a carafe of coffee. It has it's own coffee scoop that attaches to the side of the machine so you don't have to dig in the coffee grinds to get it. You can set the carafe on a warning plate to keep the coffee warm. You can set it to brew a 4 ounce specialty drink or an 8 ounce cafe forte. You can also brew your coffee over ice! It also has a built in frother to do hot or cold frothing (really couldn't get easier). Pros: -Clean and nice design -Easy to clean up -So many different brewing options -Very quick brew. Just as quick or quicker than my Keurig. -No pods to buy! -Can use any coffee grounds. -Built in filter -No more trips to Starbucks! Cons -It recommends running (2) clean cycles before your first use - each clean cycle is 1 hour long. That's a long time to wait when you are excited for a cup of coffee from your new machine. -Haven't found any recipes for anything other than coffee. My kid liked to use the Keurig for hot chocolate or tea. I am loving my new Ninja Coffee Bar and I can't wait to show it off over the holidays! There are so many delicious recipes included with the machine - I look forward to trying the all!

Decided to get this to eventually replace my Keurig pod. My kitchen has a black and gray look to it so the appearance of this blends well with the rest of the appliances. It has a plastic case with silver finish that makes it look sharp. I have never owned a coffee maker like this which feels overwhelming with all the settings. Read the instructions and I have to admit I did watch you tube videos on how to get things started. After that, those settings became very familiar and come to think of it, self explanatory. As a newbie to the art of making above average cup of joe, it handily came with a small booklet on 20 coffee house styled recipe and what setting to use. I can’t wait to try them out albeit I am lacking the ingredients. Like who has molasses in their pantry anymore? For the on the go type, i think you are better suited for the pod type maker. This do have a timer that can be pre-programmed so you can set it up when you need it to brew. But if you want to channel your inner barista. This is the perfect machine to show off that creative taste. Overall I like this machine.

Close call between this and Keurig

Got this at Christmas time. Excited to unpack it and try out a fresh cup of joe. However, despite being very easy to assemble out of the box, before the first use you are recommended to put it through 2 cleaning cycles. Each cycle takes 1 hour. Takes a good bit longer to preheat than the Keurig 450 that we had previously. The water chamber is also smaller. With this Ninja there are no special pods to buy which is probably a big plus. You can use any brand of coffee. However, if you use a fine ground coffee you will need to use an additional filter. The frother is flimsy plastic but does seem to do its job, but DOES NOT HEAT THE MILK you have to do that in the microwave. Not sure how long that part of the machine will hold up. It detaches easily for clean up. Several washable parts are NOT dishwasher safe so it must be hand cleaned which is another negative of this product. The only other drawback versus the Keurig is the limited variety of beverages available for this machine. Keurig has some excellent ciders and hot chocolates that you can make with it. This does not offer that. If you are just a plain joe (or jane) coffee drinker I would go with the Keurig. If you like the fancy coffee drinks, this nifty machine will help you make them.

Coffee Maker with Every Feature You Want

So I really want to get straight into what makes this coffee maker amazing. It actually comes with a guide book on various types of coffee that you can make. It really sends me back to when I was younger and you could go into gas stations and treat yourself to a cappachino. You can make so many types of coffee with it and make so many types of iced coffee too. Coming from a guy who is normally a tea drinker it really makes me want to try all of the types of coffee in there if you don't mind drinking coffee in the evening. Setup of the coffee machine is easy too, but it does take a while because you need to let the machine have two self-cleaning cycles that both take a while so if you are quickly wanting a cup of coffee then prepared to be disappointed or have your old coffee maker prepared, but once you get going you are really going to fall in love with how many features it has and how awesome it looks in a nice kitchen. Would recommend for anyone wanting to try coffee or already loves coffee.

Add in a Ninja Blender and you can make anything you would be paying premium prices for at a chain coffee bar without standing in line or waiting in a drive thru. The menu book is greatly improved over the previous version. If you have the older version, see if you can find a download of this Recipe book. This maker does everything a high grade maker should do...and froth! This will use #4 filters, but they are not required due to the reusable built in filter. A word to the wise, read the book and pay attention to the concept of not using a filter with the permanent filter. Unless you drink your coffee without a cup straight off the counter. Grab a blender or food processor. Invite some friends over. See what great creations you all can make.

What can't this thing do? I already have the single serve Ninja Coffee Bar but needed a multi brew for when more than a couple of cups were needed. Since I am in love with the single serve, i figured why not go with the multi brew system... just as i imagined, its better! not only does it have all the settings of from the single brew, but it adds half pot and full pot and comes with a glass carafe. the i usually stick the originals, with the help of the recipe book that came with it and the built in, i can now make any coffee drink i please. my favorite thing about the whole system is the lifetime filter! I have already recommended this to many family and friends and will continue to do so.. if you have the means and are in the market for a new coffee machine, you will not regret getting this one! Good job, Ninja!

    The BEST drip coffee maker

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Hurry up and ditch your old, worn out auto drip coffee maker and get a Ninja Coffee Bar. We have had this coffee maker for a couple of months and I LOVE it. Our old machine was so bad I entirely gave up on using it. My boyfriend likes extremely strong coffee, which I cannot drink, so he sets up the maker at night on delayed brew. This coffee maker is so fast that I can go ahead and brew using the "classic" settings in the morning while I get ready for work. Or, on the weekends I can take some extra time to make a latte or play around with other drink recipes. The instructions that come with the machine are fantastic, they tell you exactly what to do for each brewing size. I love the coffee scoop that attaches to the side of the machine and the frother which flips out of the way when you don't want to use it. In our experience, the reusable filter is only good to use if you buy or grind your own coffee on a course setting. Regular coffee tends to run through, a paper filter easily solves this problem. I can't say enough how much I love the Ninja Coffee Bar. I haven't tried brewing iced coffee yet, but with summer coming soon I hope to try it out. With the Ninja gone are the days of having company over and wondering what type and what strength coffee will be most pleasing for all of your guests. Everyone can have exactly what they want and it won't take hours to achieve. There are two things to watch out for. First, as others have said, you need to run a couple of cleaning cycles before you use it for the first time. This takes a couple of hours so don't plan on making coffee immediately. Second, the machine does tend to drip for a while after it has beeped to tell you it is done brewing. If you have time I recommend leaving your cup/carafe in position for a few minutes. If not, I just put a rag or paper towel under the drip so I don't have to constantly clean off the heating pad.

Received our shipment from Best Buy and I will say, this Ninja Coffee Bar is loaded with features and I love how hot the coffee is and the flavor it extracts from coffee beans. We are K-cup users and love our machine for the convenience factor. However, the Ninja Coffee Bar is easy to maintain and it does give you the extra kicks if you are a coffee connoisseur. We also love the cafe forte option and the coffee is not bitter nor over extracted. The frother is a very nice to have when it comes to enjoyment of a nice rich café latte. But with the cold froth, we like to make a small amount of sweetened whipped cream and we don’t have to whip out our blender for this. You certain get a lot of use and enjoyment out of this.

A Very Nice Coffee System After You Set It Up

The Ninja Coffee Bar is a very nice coffee system loaded with features. The system comes with the carafe, the milk frother as well as a recipe book to get started right away. The problem is that the instructions say to run two complete cleaning cycles before first use. I didn't have a problem with that until I found out that doing one compete cleaning cycle takes an hour per the integrated timer. I wasn't thrilled with that, but I went through both as well as washing and drying all the parts. The system comes with a double sided coffee scoop which has a convenient storage place on the side of the unit out of the way. The scoop even has the number of recommended scoops you should use for the size coffee you want. That's a great help but I will say that you should be careful the first time you use the recommended scoops because the measurement doesn't take in to account whether or not you may be using a dark roast coffee. I used Folgers Black Silk which is a bold coffee. I was cautious and used a scoop less than what was recommended and my coffee had a bitter taste to it even though I used the same amount of sugar and cream as I normally would. I do like the ability to brew a single cup, a travel mug, a half pot, or a whole pot although brewing a single cup may get a little tedious over time since you should clean the brew basket after each use. I do wish the water heated a little faster and that normal brew cycles were faster but over all this system is very nice. I have friends who come over on occasion and it's nice to be able to brew just the right amount of coffee for them or to make them a specialty drink if they want it. The milk frother is a nice touch and makes drinks look and taste extra special.

Ninja had some stiff competition as my current cup of joe came from a Bunn ( past tense). If you can handle the few extra minutes of brew time you will be rewarded. Basically you no longer need to trek to Starbucks or Dunkin, as Ninja affords you every amenity. Delay timers, single cup or travel size (no more Keurig cups either), frother, over ice and more. This will make you a coffee connoisseur in no time.

Great coffeemaker but 2 minor issues

This coffeemaker has a lot of great features and so far it's been making way better coffee than my last coffee maker and I'm still experimenting to find the perfect cup. The frothier is a wonderful feature and it comes with a recipe book to help you find the brew you're looking for. There are two design features of the coffeemaker that I would definitely change. The first is rather minor but was annoying. The water level indicators are on the side of the pot so if your pouring water into the water reservoir you can't see them if you're in front of the unit and pouring water in from the top. It is removable but if you'r holding it by the very convenient grip area, your hand is covering them. This was an easy fix and I just used a maker to indicate the same levels on the front of the reservoir so I can see when I've added the amount of water I want. The second thing I would change is the shape of the carafe The opening on the carafe is not big enough to fit your hand in for cleaning. I know you can get a sponge on a stick but I don't keep those in my house and I'm not going to start just for this one pot. My husband made the purchase and had I been there, I might not have purchased it for that one reason. But that's just me.....

So far I've only been able to try the full and half carafe as well as the single serving and travel mug serving options. I love the various size options mixed with the delay timer. I also love the fact that there is no need for a paper cone. The mesh cone that comes with it is high quality and easy to clean. I would definitely recommend this to someone who's regular old coffee maker just won't do.

Great replacement for my top of the line maker which after 3 years is really costly. Besides the cost savings and environment, this unit makes a much better cup of coffee. I use 3 tsp. of coffee and the standard brew, & I get a hot tasty cup of coffee. My only complaint is I got sludge in my cup, so I bought filters to alleviate the problem. I love the frother, It adds character to the coffee.

My husband bought this almost two years ago and he has used it consistently every day. He makes a full pot a day, setting it to begin brewing a few minutes before he wakes up. The carafe and filter are very easy to clean...just chuck the grounds into the composter or garbage and rinse. Lately he has been using the "keep warm" function for his days off and he says it still tastes as good as when it was first brewed.

I received the coffee pot and was excited to make all these sweet coffees they say you can make. Well, first off, the cold brew works, tried that right out of the box. The milk frother works great as well. Next I went on to the warm coffee and made a full carafe, but only once. No matter what I do, the coffee maker will only make a half carafe. I have done all the steps per Ninja's website and customer service via telephone. After some more in depth research, this is a common issue. I cannot give a full review on other features because I have stopped using it after 2 days. First it was the half carafe brewing, by the 2nd day, it was the leaking. I am not happy with this Ninja product, I own many others but this is a $60 coffee pot at best. My $35 one works better and keeps the coffee warmer.

My issue is not with the coffee maker but with the misleading of best buys website. I bought the same CF091 model that everyone else is posting that has a clock and plastic stainless trim at the bottom of the unit but mine does not look like everyone else's photos or best buys photos. My unit does have a clock but it is located directly under the reservoir and stainless trim on the bottom is replaced with just black plastic. I do not understand why my machine is different from everyone else's of the same model. Does anyone else have this issue? Is mine an older unit, old style leftover?
