I am so glad that I found out about this product! I am finally free from Directv contracts and with a low monthly fee that I can cancel anytime that I want or skip a month or two if I am not at home.

I have an Orby TV DVR and two Orby TV receivers. It's great to have control of a clear monthly package price. Just $50 for all of the basic cable channels available on Orby TV. Taxes and fees are included - just $50. And when I plan to go out of town, I can pause my subscription. I can restart it anytime from my mobile phone. Very happy I switched from DIRECTV. Realized I don't watch ESPN much - and happy to save $100+/mo on subscription, fees, and taxes.

Great alternative to high priced satellite providers. A few things that will take some getting use to, but the price difference makes those things more bearable!!! Cut satellite cost by over $100 per month!! No sports channels, but that's fine by me!

Hard to hold the remote control with one hand and operate. Remote to narrow and can use bigger numbers, so that makes it easier to operate with one hand

Have been without service for 5 to 6 weeks. Orby tv keeps scheduling service with a third part installation sub contractor from Memphis Tn. They have been out 2 times and have not fixed the unit. Even at that they were a couple of weeks apart in checking the sattelite. The installer will and has not come to fix my unit yet. If your within a hundred mile of Memphis you should think long and hard before purchasing an Orby tv unit if you want it installed or repaired in a timely manner. I have called at least 8 times with no results. The installer came out and said i dont have a dish to fix it with. Again why don't you keep everything in your van to repair a unit with. I'm now waiting on another reschedule to repair my unit. Sometimes the savings is not worth the hassle.

Installed everything my self 3 DVRs and one receiver . Was a dish customer for 17 years and switched to Orby. The picture quality on the local channels is easily interfaced with the DVR and the cost is half of Dish with no issues. The system is simple and works, picture quality is also better .

The only thing with the DVR box I have to reboot it like every 3 days

I got rid of my expensive DirecTV and had this installed at much less per month. Everything comes in great and I have more channels for a lot less expense per month.

This DVR is, to put it mildly, a piece of junk. After experiencing advancements in DVR technology for the last 20 years, this is a big disappointment: two programs-at-a-time recording limit, no search function, little or no program info in guide listings, no on-demand available, badly designed remote that freezes in fast-forward mode off and on again, etc. I should have opted for the rental instead of buying because after the one year warranty expires, I'll probably own a doorstop. Even at half-price, I invested $365 including installation.

Loved this system but unfortunately they went out of business.

great value easy to use great picture would buy again

I purchased the ORBY TV satellite DVR receiver from Best Buy curbside pick-up on 02/13/21. It was clearance priced at $100 plus tax. When I was able to self-install the ORBY TV satellite dish outside, I connected the DVR satellite receiver to my ORBY TV dish, and I found the ORBY TV satellite without much difficulty. I was able to lock on good SQ (99) and good SS (81) on screen six; however, scanning the satellite would not get past screen seven. Upon further investigation, I discovered that ORBY TV had closed its doors on 03/01/21. So I have this DVR Satellite receiver that cannot be activated, and will not receive any channels, not even local TV broadcast channels. Obviously, the DVR functionality is not working, either.

The Orby DVR comes with a great package of programming at a price that is way, way less than either cable or the other satellite providers. The only thing I don't like about it is that my Sony receiver and TV remotes won't talk to it - I need to keep two remotes nearby instead of one.

We purchased this at Best Buy. We called Orby. Set an appointment for a technician to come and install it for us. We like the idea that you can watch any show while a show is being DVR’d, unlike our last satellite system. The remote buttons are easy to use.

Receiver / DVR channel guide lacks information (IE. NEW, DATES) DVR lacks the ability to record only NEW episodes. You can only record 1 episode or (ALL) episodes. Very low line equipment (DVR) If you are looking for a higher level of equipment, it’s not at orby. I was looking at switching from DISH, but I will pay about $90 more per month to have higher end equipment that does more of what I want it to do. I Wish ORBY had better equipment ! I would have paid more for the DVR

So glad to have a reasonable TV choice. I bought 2 dvr receivers and a self install package which came with everything including another receiver. In 3 months I will have recovered all my cost over Dish Network, plus I have twice the channels.

Okay cannot get local channels like fox and abc when you call them they said we would get call local channels

I am so happy that I got Orby TV---was sick and tired of paying crazy mounts of money for cable. Install was super easy, and got all the channels I wanted. I got the recorder, and it works awesome. They just added HBO too so, I jumped on that. You gotta check it out.

Love the dvr capabilities of locals and networks love the 54.00 per month price point for having 3 tvs with all my channels. Was pricey to get three dvrs and service installed but well worth it.
