This is an updated version of our classic microwave that lasted almost twenty years! It’s nice and large, and powerful enough to fulfill our needs. We were happy to see this nice looking, easy to operate microwave oven. The upgraded dial timer is easy to operate. Just turn it to the number of minutes and push Start. I like the white interior and that it’s easy to see into while running. Can’t think of a thing that would improve this.

Easy to clean, large cabinet size. This is a replacement for a unit we had for 7-9 years and they both had the same power level however this unit cooks a lot faster. The noise level is also lower then the last unit.

We love this microwave !! No pads to push , easy to use , quiet , easy to clean. The sensor settings make shortcuts easy and very useful. Would highly recommend ! Replaced a high end micro that didn’t even last 2 years , the pads just stopped working. Has all the power plus that is needed to complete a meal quickly.

Our other Panasonic only lasted two years. Since I don't think anyone could do without a Microwave, I was "forced" to buy another one the next day. I search Best Buy and noticed one on sale for a great discount. I drove to Best Buy in Alexandria to buy the one that I had seen, but first wanted a little bit information on it. The female I spoke with, had an answer to every question I asked. After her review and recommendation, I bought the one I had seen. An excellent microwave that does everything I need. The one unique thing I love about it is that you don't have to punch a keypad to get it to work. You just simply "DIAL" the time you want and push ONE button. That is all that is needed. Of course there are the other buttons on most microwaves, but the main one - where you have to punch in the amount of time you wanted - is replaced by a dialing button and I LOVE that!!!!!

My 35-1/2 year old big microwave died!!!! Did not have time to research a replacement and how can you live without a microwave? Went into store with measurements and power levels needed and the sales person pulled up 4 to compare. Decided on this one, for power, size and of course looks (it sits in a cubby above our kitchen aid wall oven). And it was in stock! So pleasantly surprised with all the features it has, how well it heats and de frosts, as well as what I have yet to try. So $200 later they loaded it in my car and the world was good.

This microwave is a good size and looks good with other stainless appliances. Quiet and easy to use. Haven't had it very long but so far so good!

This microwave is easy to use and large enough to accommodate large dishes. It looks great, too. My only complaint would be the fingerprints that I have to continually wipe off.

So, this is the best microwave I have ever used! I love the dial feature among many other useful functions. Defrosts like a dream, nice and big inside. Also the design is beautiful, well worth the purchase. Fyi- do read manual instructions for cooking times/power levels. This microwave heats quickly and more thorough than the ordinary microwave.

This was purchased to replace a 15 yo Sharp unit that suddenly decided to retire itself. Our previous unit was a counter top that was built into our cabinets. This model had most of the features needed and was almost the same size. Only missing feature was a convection oven feature but to be truthful we only used it when we needed a second oven for a party. Only "bad" feature is that the finish is stainless steel but not fingerprint proof. So just be prepared to have to clean the door and control panel or ignore the finger smudges. Also, if you need a trim kit, the one sold by Panasonic is too expensive and it is one size fits all. Suggest contacting Micro-trim in Santa Ana CA 1-800-338-8746. They will make a custom made trim kit and at less cost than the Panasonic trim kit. I have used them for both the old unit and the new one. Their trim kits are easy to install, and look great. After 15 years our old one still looks new.

I bought a countertop since I moved to a new home. And the reviews on this stood out. And its definitely a great buy. Looks very neat, modern and the dial is pretty cool. Heats up food and cooks really well. Not very heavy or noisy.

The Panasonic NN-SD987SA is a full sized 2.2 cu.ft. microwave, that looks and works great. We have been Panasonic microwave fans for decades, and this one was a replacement for a 27 year old model that was going strong, but didn't match our kitchen remodel. The NN-SD987SA is very spacious, you can cook a roast or even a small turkey in it, and it fits most pans or casseroles that might not otherwise fit in smaller microwaves. The inverter technology isn't a gimmick and really does heat more quickly and evenly, and at 1250 watts, it doesn't take forever to heat things. I've had no issues with the door yet, although I am dreading the day when it fails... Our old microwave door had no button to press to open the door, but I've had other models at work fail when the little plastic piece inside the latch broke, rendering the entire microwave unusable. The digital dial is smooth and easy to use, and the buttons have a nice feel to them that seems sturdy. Overall an excellent deal for the price ($150), and we are happy although we've only had it for 2 months. We were without a stove for three weeks, and having this large capacity microwave was a lifesaver. It is very deep, and it is the largest countertop microwave that we could find, that was shorter than an undermount model, and fit the space we needed it to fit. Overall, very pleased.

We love it. Easy to use. The light inside is bright so I can see what’s happening. For the most part the reheat controls work great- but sometimes I don’t want my leftovers too hot so I wait for visible steam on the dome food cover I use and stop it early. Popcorn is perfect. 2 minutes for the morning coffee to get nice and hot. It’s bigger than I wanted, but in relying on reviews from multiple sites, this was the best microwave to replace my Panasonic of 6 years- it decided to start sparking and then died. This is easy to clean, but I do use a food splatter cover (everyone should use one in a microwave oven) so there’s rarely a mess. Carousel moves smoothly. If you have good vision, buttons are easy to read. My vision is horrible up close so if the location of your microwave isn’t well lit, it is a bit difficult to read the labels. The time display is not a problem at all. Door operation is fine. I warned my boys to be gentle based on other reviews. Don’t slam the door shut. Nothing to complain about.

This is an excellent microwave. I love the way it warms the food with the inverter. It is so easy to set the time, and timer; just turn the knob for how many minutes or seconds you want the food to warm. The increased size is also great too. Glad I selected this one it. I highly recommend this one!

Bought this along with custom-ordered stainless steel frame to fit in a cabinet hole that was designed for early 1990 homes. The stainless steel color is beautiful, hard to describe as in soft yellow light it provides nice 'rainbow'ish' reflected light fragments! The timer knob took time to get used to as we were using a keypad based microwave before. The per minute increment button was actually better than the 30-second increment from previous older microwave. The extra power does mean we make effort to cook a little less time than what frozen food instructions provide (for 1100 watts) I was concerned about the gap in the buttons as typically my hand is oily and stained when heating up food, but so far I haven't had to deal with any stains in the 'gap' which are very narrow. The only negative I have is the door was not fully flushed with the control panel, so upper door panel toward LCD readout was sticking out about 1mm while the bottom door panel edge was flushed. Most people didn't notice until I pointed it out. Bothered me for a while but I did read about their quality control.

Love this Panasonic Microwave! Just what I was looking for. Perfect size to fit spot above my KitchenAid built-in oven. My previous one just died on me---can't do w/o a microwave! This model is loaded with options/features. Clean front panel with touch pad looks sleek and easier to keep clean, Very user friendly. Couldn't beat the price--esp with a 20% coupon I got online. Nice looking. Highly recommend

I bought this to replace an older Panasonic microwave which had a failure of the turntable drive. Unfortunately, as it was 8 or 9 years old, there were no replacement parts available. So I bought this one- it is huge. You could easily fit a good size turkey in there, if that gives you a sense of scale. A full size dinner plate looks small inside. Downsides? The buttons are not very legible unless the room is brightly lit- silver background with small black print doesn't make it the best. Also, the older user interface without the knob is easier to use- I still have no idea how to use the programmed cooking modes- have to break out the manual for that. Upsides? It's huge. Very powerful- full power will blast whatever you put in there, you will make a mess. Inverter turbo defrost works great- thaws your frozen items without overly cooking them. The sensor reheat function also works very well- I use it to reheat leftovers and it works well.

This is an attractive microwave that works well. Fast heating and easy to use controls. We use the sensor cook feature to heat many frozen foods especially vegetables with reliable results. We had a similar Panasonic unit prior to this one that lasted 8 years with daily use. That's the primary reason we got another Panasonic. This one works even better than the last one and Best Buy had the best price and was in stock at our local store.

The Panasonic 2.2 Cu Microwave is a replacement. I purchased this one last month (June 2020). It's a little larger than my last one but still fits in the same space under the cabinets. Like the light inside when the door is open or closed. Very easy to use and very quiet. I have no complaints or problems with this microwave.

This is a larger size microwave, with amazing power. I love and use the sensor function all the time - it knows just how much time is needed for my potato or any other reheated meal - an excellent investment if you like to have even cooked meals without a burn. Easy to use, appreciate the dial for setting my own time.

Wanted a microwave that was simple to operate for seniors as well as large enough to fit serving dishes. The time in brilliant blue is better than most times indicated in black for seniors to read. A little large for on the counter but worth it to our family. Works well.
