I’ve used multiple electric shavers trying to replace and stop using traditional ones. This one finally did it, clean shave, smooth and fast. The cleaning station is awesome and everything looks stylish.

Not bad, but still pretty bad. It gives a great close shave but it doesn’t treat sensitive skin well and makes it more course which just makes it harder to use the razor and pretty painful.

We regret to learn about the discomfort you've experienced with our product. To enhance your shaving experience, consider the following tips: Ensure your hair is the right length for dry shaving, as electric shavers work best on shorter hair. Stretching the skin while shaving can create a smoother surface for the shaver, reducing the likelihood of hair pulling. Regularly clean your shaver to prevent the accumulation of hair, which can affect performance. It's important to note that individual differences in skin and hair may require some experimentation to find the best approach for you. Whether you opt for wet or dry shaving, applying these tips may contribute to a more comfortable and effective shave. - S Panasonic

Spent some time researching for latest best new electric razors before purchasing the Arc 6. Decided on The Panasonic Arc 6 because it offers 6 sharp premium razors and charging deck with option to fully clean or dry only as well. It does offer as close as smooth close shave both wet/dry when compared to razor shaving. It’s easy to clean with premium feel and the razor cartridge lasts up to 18 months before replacing. Great investment.

    Best electric shaver

I have been a Braun Series 9 Pro user for the past year, and a Series 7 user for well over a decade before that. I had tried rotary Norelco shavers, but found they gave my too many in-grown hairs and issues. Over the years, Braun has steadily removed features and functions in their shaver/cleaning base combo, even in their top line model. So while the Arc 6 is certainly more expensive, it goes on sale all the time for same/similar price to the Braun Series 9 that in my opinion, it is better to wait for a deal and get the Panasonic over the Braun. And after using the Series 9 Pro over the last year and now the Arc 6 over the past month, the higher price is justified. There are so many things, big and small, in the Arc 6 - the 6 blades with the cleaning base that makes it a better overall shaver than the Series 9. So everything stated below is in comparison of the Arc 6 to the Braun 9477 CC that comes with a charging case. There are actual 6 blades compared to 4 blades and a “shaving element” that Braun advertises. Actually, the Arc 6 has a similar “shaving element” as well. I get a noticeably closer shave. The blade base is actually stainless steel in the Arc 6 compared to primarily -lactic in the series 9. The pop up trimmer actually pops up and out, making it much easier to see where you are trimming. In the Series 9, the trimmer barely rises over the shaver foil. The buttons for both the trimmer and shaver are better placed - my thumb naturally rests above the Panasonic logo when shaving and above the three metal charge contacts when trimming. In the Braun, I was always accidentally hitting the shaving switch, or worse, sliding up the trimmer. The battery life is about the same or similar. However, the Arc 6 is much more comprehensive about communicating status - the battery life is shown in 5% increments (100% to 95%) compared to a single digit in the Series 9 (where a “9” would indicate charge level anywhere between fully charged 100% and 90%, an “8” would be charge level between 89% to 80%, and so on). There are indicators on the Arc 6 that match with the Series 9 (travel lock, charging, cleaning, replace blade). I don’t have to do anything to actually engage the travel lock on the Arc 6 - it is smart enough with the sensors to know when it is being held for a shave and when it is jostled and to say locked. The leather travel case is much slimmer and smaller compared to the Braun charging case - while a neat idea, it makes the case heavy and bulky - last thing you want when traveling. The Arc 6 also comes with a plastic cap to protect the foils when traveling, something Braun stopped offering a long time ago. Though not a big deal, Braun also no longer includes mineral oil to lubricate the blades. The Arc 6 is superior when it comes to cleaning as well. First, there is an ultrasonic cleaning mode that can be used with just water, or soap and water, and does not require the charging station at all. The cleaning solution is cheaper (I purchased 12 packets for $37, compared to Braun 10 pack of cleaning cartridges for $50). The cleaning station design is superior - it has a fan for both cleaning and dryer, as well as a heating element. The fan is vertical and angled slightly down, so it first slowly blows loose hair clippings from both the blade and trimmer downwards, then the cleaning solution collects it while the shaver is activated. Then during the drying portion, the heating element coupled with the fan running at a higher speed properly dries the shaver. Braun removed the heating function on their charging base long time ago. Plus the fan in the Braun is horizontal at the bottom below where the shaver rests, so it blows air up as part of other drying cycle, only after the cleaning portion. The result is a much better cleaning on the Arc 6. Cleaning time on the series 9 runs around 45-60 mins, but in the Arc 6 is much longer, closer to 1.5 hours if you do Botha clean and dry session. Plus the base station on the Panasonic has a little magnet (almost like MagSafe) that ensures proper contact every time you put the shaver in the base. The Braun does not have this feature and many times the shaver is not placed in the base at the proper angle for cleaning, where after a cleaning cycle one edge of the shaver will be wet from the cleaning solution while the other edge is not properly cleaned. The Panasonic base also gives you the option to just clean, or just dry the shaver, with the default option to do both a clean and dry cycle. No such option on the Braun. All the other indicators are the same between the two cleaning bases (low cleaning solution, replace cleaning solution. One very annoying change Braun made to the Series 9 base station is that you now have to remove the cleaning cartridge from the back, instead of from the front - this becomes an issue if you have tight or no counter space on your bathroom sink since you have to slide out the cleaning cartridges and it’s much easier to do it pulling out front. So, for me, the Arc 6 and accessories is totally a better shaving solution compared to what Braun Series 9 offers. I can see where the extra money goes - both in terms of product features as well as quality. While both a plastic, compared to the Series 9, the Arc 6 has a much more premium feel when holding it, as well as the smooth movement of the shaver head. The head also has a much larger range of motion, and I have noticed that I don’t have to press down as much on my face while shaving compared to the Series 9. Using an electric pre shave gel, I get a shave comparable to a manual razor. Never got that with the Series 9. So is the higher price worth it? For me, YES! Right now, as I write this review, the Arc 6 is priced the same as the top line Series 9. At the same price, it’s a no-brainer.

My first letdown with a Panasonic ARC shaver

I really wanted the one that's a step above this one, but that is only available in Japan still in 2025. So this was the next best one. I'd used Panasonic Arc shavers for at least a decade. I shave my head as well as my face, so I have always had the best results with them. But recently my Arc 5 model started just getting worn out - I had swapped blades several times over the years, but it was just getting old. I had a Braun series 8 and a Braun series 9, both with cleaning systems, new in boxes that I ended up with over the years, so I started out with the 8, and it was awful. Painful and not nearly as good as the Arc 5. Tried the Braun 9, same thing. Shaving my neck often was as bad as trying to pull whiskers with a tweezer. I never had issues with the ARC series, so I got this one. And it's just disappointing. No, it's not painful like the Braun ones were even doing the same thing with the same length of hair in the same place. But it just doesn't cut WELL. For as many cutting surfaces this has when you move it over hair, you'd think it should do better. My head? This is awesome, as good as any other ARC I've used and love my head after I shave with this. Face isn't bad, clean and smooth, but once you start getting around the jaw and the neck, this performance is just awful. Right under the hinge of the jaw I can have a little bit of growth, and this simply won't get it. No matter how many times I go over it, no matter which direction, it just does NOT do well under the jawline and on the neck. I continuously have to pull out a trimmer and get rid of things that way then come back over it with this to try to make it smooth... For this price point, it should cut at LEAST as well as the Arc 5 did, but it doesn't...

It shaves really well, I have sensitive skin and of all the shavers, and ive tried Phillips 3000, 5000; braun 3000, 9 series pro. this one still gives me some red spots, but it is the least of them all. The charger is nice and the cleaner seems cool, just set up the cleaner so ill update if theres a skin reaction from the cleaner.

    As Good As a Blade

I'm a daily shaver and have been wet shaving with a double edged safety razor, brush and soap for the past several years. My last electric was an Arc 4 and was unimpressive. Dry shaving with the Arc 6 (using Speick pre-electric) takes a quarter of the time as a blade and is often as close or nearly as close as a blade. Wet shaving with the Arc 6 and shaving cream is that much closer. I'll use Speick or Truefitt & Hill, but you can use anything. The difference is rather than lasting totally smooth (BBS) for 8 - 12 hours, it lasts up to three hours. Then you're in BBS- to DFS+ territory for many hours. The Arc 6 easily gets a smooth and comfortable shave under my neck and around the Adams Apple. It shaves through two days of growth without breaking a sweat. I haven't had the opportunity to test it with more yet. I've also tried a Braun S9 pro. That's another great electric, but the Arc 6 produces a closer daily shave. It is expensive for sure, but this is the first electric I've owned that can compete with a blade.

This is by far, the best electric shaver I've ever owned, and it's not even close. This thing gets my face so silky smooth it's amazing what a difference this very expensive shaver can have. I have owned practically every high end electric razor so I know a little about them...this one knocks it out of the park!

    Luxury Worth The Price

Panasonic Arc series razors are gorgeous. They work so well. The biggest problem, they have always been heinously expensive. No razor should cost this much. But darn it, they are worth it - the shave is so smooth and so painless, I love these things. My first was an Arc3 more than fifteen years ago. There is one major issue with these razors - the cleaning / charging station. I've had maybe six of the stations (the Arc5 stations are built exactly the same way, except they won't work with an Arc6), and every single one has died between one and two years old. The pump stops working and, so far, I haven't found a way to replace the motor. And the station is far too expensive (in the case of the Arc5, it's only a few dollars more to buy a whole new razor / station than just buying a new station). For something this amazing, I use the Panasonic cleaning solution, and change it out about once a month. Compared to the cost of a set of foils, the cleaning solution is a good solid investment. Using the cleaning station after every shave will extend the life of the foils by a lot. This one is just a little better than the Arc5. If you are looking for a bargain, an Arc5 is not a bad second choice. The Arc6 does a closer shave, runs more smoothly, feels better in my hand, and I have less shaving rash.

I used this foil shaved to only see a glipse of what I looked like 10 years ago. It was like my face used a time machine to wind back the clock to my youth. This is hands down the best foil shaver in the world. I don't care what these little reviewers show you on some off website trying to get you to use their link to get money. This shaver is hella expensive. Yea and your wondering if its worth the money. But you go back to like holy crap this thing is stupid expensive. Let me tell you it's worth every dang penny.
