I use this purely for watching DVDs and Blu-Ray movies on my PS4, and for basic functions, it performs as advertised. Simple and intuitive, as any basic remote should be. If you're looking for the basics (play, pause, fast forward, rewind, menu, etc.) you'll be pleased. I haven't attempted utilizing it for anything beyond, so I can't speak for those features, but if you're like me and just want to control simple and typical commands in a familiar form factor, it fits the bill. Much more appropriate than using a game controller, and the price is right. Setup was quick and painless.

Not as good as the PS3 one, since this one goes to sleep automatically, but gets the job done. Doesn't come with battery's so make sure u have some on hand.

Volume punch through to your soundbar doesn't work, but that's okay, since I could never get it to pair with my Samsung soundbar anyway. I contacted both Samsung and pdp to no avail. But hey... It can turn on your ps4, so if that's enough for you, rock on.

I basically got this remote so I didn't have to constantly take my PS4 controller off the charger to watch Netflix. This remote is perfect for that purpose!

Love these remotes... in fact this is my second one (for my second console). They save battery life of your controller when you just want to watch movies or shows, or just not play games. All the buttons needed for the PS4 are on it and easy to navigate. It also can be used "universally" with a few other devices, and it's very easy to sync up and use with your console

Bought for my son and his new PS4. He loves it because he can control everything from this remote and no longer needs to bring his PS4 controller to bed

Has more buttons than I think I'll ever need for a PS4 controller, but it works great and battery life so far is great. I'd probably buy the smaller PS4 controller instead if I had to buy one again. You have to wake up the controller after maybe 10-15 minutes of no use. It's not a big deal and if it helps save battery life, then that annoyance is a good trade-off. I use my PS4 to play movies, stream, and watch YouTube far more than actually play video games. Using this over a controller is a far better option and I don't regretting buying this.

If you use your PS4 as a total entertainment center (movies, youtube, netflix, etc), then we highly recommend the Media Remote. Functionality is good.

This remote is not as good as the one used to be for the PS3. The PS3 one would recognize when you were doing function on the console or the television. This one does not. Its not a huge pain to click PS4 or TV or cable, when you are using multiple things, but the old one doing it automatically was nice.

This is more straightforward, and easy to use than the Dual Shock 4 when trying to watch a movie on PS4. Also controls TV and components with ease.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do. I used to use my ps4 controller to do everything and this bad boy helps tremendously. Highly recommended.

I bought the remote so i wouldn't have to use the game pad to control the movies and such. It does a very good job for that purpose

Works greate, has all the features I was looking for and some extras I was not expecting which made it even better. Would have given it five stars but I was not able to get it to fully work with my soundbar I was only able to program the soft keys to my soundbar but other than that it's a great remote.

I bought this remote only because my PS4 PRO isn't compatible with my PS3 remote which is a bummer considering that I have to go about purchasing a brand new remote. Luckily I had some reward member points available & was able to get the new PS4 remote basically for free. The remote works fine & does exactly what ti suppose to do. The setup was fairly easy & was ready to go. My only gripe is that it goes into this "sleep mode" where all the button functions stops & so you have to pick up the remote, press the PS button, wait for the response on the tv screen to appear & then they start to work. Other than that it works just fine.

My summary cannot say it any better. I use my PS4 to watch blu ray movies and the VUDU app where I have a lot of digital movies, and Netflix from time to time. Basically, I watch a lot of videos on my PS4. The problem was that whenever I was watching movies I would have to use my gaming controller to control everything and by the end of the movie the battery would be less than halfway charged, which would get pretty annoying, plus my girlfriend doesn't know what buttons to press to operate it. I searched Best Buy just hoping there was some kind of remote and found this. I saw mostly good reviews, but some negative, but I gave it a shot. This thing is WELL worth it! First off, the fact it is a universal remote is amazing because I don't even need to get the TV remote out at all anymore, and the battery lasts so long and it automatically turns off if it is not being used, and then turns back on really quickly if need be. You can navigate everything on the playstation with the remote, maybe even play some games, as long as you don't need to use the joystick. It works so well and is definitely worth the price! I would honestly pay double the listed price for the product I am enjoying so much!

Is much easier to use than a controller and you don't have to worry about draining a controller battery. Wish I had bought it a long time ago.

Really like this remote. Works very well in PS Vue as compared to the PS 3 remote. Seems to go to sleep or get disconnected from the PS 4 quickly and takes too long to reconnect.

I bought this remote in hopes that it would save me money and the recharging hassle of constantly using my controller and it definitely does that. But I'm still having to use another remote for the TV and sound system because the PS remote won't communicate with either. Also when powering up the PS4 it takes considerably longer to perform that task compare to the controller, not sure if it's a communication thing or the remote taking longer to wake up than the controller. All in all don't expect too much.

This universal PS4 remote simplified my entertainment center. I got my cable, surround sound, TV and PS4 all under control with one remote!

Brought this remote three weeks ago and mainly used for watching Blu-ray during the holidays. The remote works as designed.
