the PS4 Media remote is exactly what you would expect from a sony remote. Connects easily. Functions as intended. The only "annoyance" star deduction is that that if you are using it to watch a movie/netflix etc. as a battery saving feature it powers down after 30 min and you have to Reconnect it before you can use to stop or pause etc...

I purchased this remote with low expectations due to past experience with the PS3 remote that I never was able to get to work. I am very happy with this remote as it has worked correctly right out of the box. Much easier for use with the video apps than using the game controller.

This remote looks high quality but doesn't quite feel like high quality; the directional buttons for example feel not too responsive. It can control your PS4 as well as your TV, AMP and Cable Box. The device buttons at the top (2nd row) are too small, especially for PS4. The green TV button on the very top turns on and off your TV after you program it. The other power button is for your active device (ps4, amp or cable box). The instruction booklet has little info since it's for like a gazillion languages; although it does get you going. I was able to program the TV button with ease with my Sony 4k TV.

Beat universal remote i have ever owned! Long have I waited for a remote that would control my PS4, both my TVs AND my cable box! And here it is. 5 stars once an update is released for the pause/ff/rr to qork kn YouTube

I bought the PDP remote because so far it's the only remote fully compatible with the PS4. I was hesitant because I don't usually buy "aftermarket" products. It's been my experience that they don't usually work the way I want, or start to fail sooner than "original" products. However, this remote works surprisingly well. It's designed to match the PS4 and feels well built. I can honestly say it seems very similar to the Sony Remote for the PS3. One complaint though is that it can't control my cable box. It's not the remote's fault, it's more my cable providers' brand of box (Technicolor, I think). If it only could control my cable box, it would be the perfect universal remote.

I got this remote because i was draining the battery too much on my PS4 controller. I do like to play games on my ps4 but i also love watching my Anime on Funimation on the PS4 and thats where this remote came in handy. Not only does it properly control my apps on the ps4 like my ps4 controller but it also controls the volume on my yamaha RX-A740 receiver and even controls my Dish Hopper with sling by allowing me to change the channels and even access my Guide menu as well as my samsung UN65JS8500 4K SUHD tv. Its been doing its job fairly well. What it does to conserve battery vs the ps4 game controller is that after 30 minutes of no use the remote power's it self off and you have press the ps4 blue button right at the top of the remote below the eject button and wait for a solid red light to appear for a few seconds and then once it disapears, you can press whatever command button you want to access, like play, pause, stop or the main PS button to go back to the home screen. You cant play games with the remote control just incase you are wondering lol and if you try, it will ask you to connect a ps4 game controller. With that said i would recommend it. I gave it a 4 star rating because it does take some time or a few pushes to the ps4 button on the remote to get it to work again with the ps4 and if you want to access the tv or home theater receiver volume you have to press the tv or aux button to change the volume up or down and then press the ps4 button to utilize the ps4 again but its still a great alternative so you wont waste your battery on your ps4 game controller.

This remote controll worked on everything for my entertainment devices. It controlled my tv, cable box, sound bar, and ps4. And it has extra buttons so u can program them to be a button that one of ur other devices had and this one didn't. It even has the buttons for yhe smart tv. I went from using four remotes to only using one.

Works for most functions the on ps4 but not everything. Some apps use the arrow keys and some use the ff and rr skip keys can be a little confusing. You always have to hit the ps4 or TV button if you want to do anything with the other. Most remotes will still let you control the volume while another device input is active. While these are my complaints its still much easier then having a PlayStation remote and TV remote to watch Netflix hulu or Blu rays. So I'm still enjoying my purchase.

The reason that I give a 3 star is because the remote works great while you are surfing on the home screen and to play any movies but went you are inside of an app like me to stream movies online the arrow buttons are not working, so I have to turn on one of my dualshock remotes to surf to the apps..... I didn't find out after I throw away the package, otherwise I would return it, I hope Sony fix this problem with some update, if not.... Well I guess I'll have to deal with this

I bought the PS4 DVD remote expecting it to be the same experience as I had with the PS3 version (PS3 version worked flawlessly). The PS4 version seems to go to sleep when not in use, like when watching a movie, requiring me to push buttons several times before acknowledging I want to pause the movie. Not always, but sometimes. I don't use the remote to control multiple devices, just the PS4 when watching a blu-ray or when watching Netflix. Otherwise, it works great. I'll look into the "sleep" thing more to see ifor it is a thing, or if I can adjust the setting (doubt that).

Great Ps4 remote. Took some time to find the right code for my Vizio tv but it controls everything and my TV is a smart tv. Works with almost all apps on the Ps4 (not YouTube, but hopefully in the future). Dosent come with batteries for some reason tho. Very convenient having one remote to control all of my things.

I purchased this remote for the PS4 mainly to watch TV via PlayStation Vue. Having it helps immensely to navigate. Pros: Easy to setup and use. It works well for the price. Cons: Noisy buttons and the Bluetooth interface drains the remote batteries quickly. Have to re-reconnect after a period of inactivity in order to control the PlayStation.

This is a halfway decent remote. I was able to configure it to control my needed devices. The price tag makes this a great deal.

Separate PS4 and tv signals means you need to switch device signal just to turn up volume. Eats batteries: this remote goes through batteries very quickly. Needs replacements in about a month (usually less. Otherwise works great, and is an affordable alternative to the few options available to me at the time of purchase

What a great surprise. We looked online but couldn't find this product like we had for our PS3. I really prefer it to using the controller and it doesn't wear the battery down. We really find that it is easier to navigate BR disks, DVDs and Amazon Prime Video with this.

This remote works entirely as expected and overall i am completely satisfied. Really nice UX for those using their PS4's for streaming media (e.g. Plex, Amazon, Netflix, etc.) and navigating those type of apps. The only tricky things at all is making sure it remains connected. I periodically lose connection and need to hit the PS4 button to reconnect but seriously, first world problems. All in all, I recommend this product and I am happy with it.

Works great! Love to use it over the traditional remote! Works well when using the PS4 as a blu-ray!

Maybe it's just me (or perhaps a bad item) but it seems to 'shut down', or go into some sort of 'sleep' mode if it sits idle for a while. I'll watch something for perhaps an hour, pick up the remote, and have to press the PS4 device selector in order to get it to control the console's functions. And not using it for any other function during that time. Otherwise it does exactly what it is supposed to do, and what PS4 users have been asking for since day one.

I needed a remote control for HBO Go, Netflix, and playing Blu-rays and this worked perfectly. I especially like the volume punch through feature which lets you choose which device will control the volume even when the remote is in other modes.

Even if it takes some time to properly configure it, reality is that it's easy enough: trying combinations is not a brain burner task but you don't always get ALL the functions of the device you're trying (I happened with my Denon AV receiver, but I should give a try again and see what happens). Anyway, the device is perfectly ok to handle the most common tasks with my TV, AV receiver, set top box and of course my PS4 (including Netflix, like a charm).
