I bought this to use with the Playstation Vue service. The remote controls the app just fine. I also have the PS3 remote which works much better. The buttons are bigger, has dedicated L1-L3 and R1-R3 buttons, and responds faster. This remote seems to go to sleep, and takes several seconds to respond after inactivity. That's my biggest gripe about it. It's also pricey at $30. You are able to program it to operate your TV, which is nice. Unfortunately, this seems to be the only remote that works with the PS4. It works, albeit with some minor annoyances. I would have been happier paying around $20 for it.

Sometimes Id just go on to youtube or twitch and watch some videos or streams. Its nice to have on the side, would be cool if you can play games with it.

The functionality of this remote is great. There is one thing I dislike compared to the previous version and that is the fact that you have to wake it up. Thus making it impossible to quickly pause a movie.

Works fine. You can turn the PS4 on/off with it and it basically functions like a controller on the OS. It seems like it has too many features and buttons IMO. An odd complaint perhaps, but it's got a lot going on.

I picked up the remote after signing up for PlayStation Vue. My original TV remote and another Universal Remote could handle most, but not all features of my Home Theater setup. This remote is compatible with my TV and older model stereo. There were a few features that did not work by default, but individual buttons are programmable. I can now control everything with one remote.

This remote is simple to program your TV and audio system. It is effective as a 1 remote setup. The only thing it is missing is a button to change the source of your TV. That's why it gets 4 stars.

We have used our old PS systems as a blueray player for years. Much easier to navigate with the remote as opposed to only using the controller while playing a movie or streaming Netflix or Amazon Prime Video.

Overall I prefer using this remote over the PS4 controller. Takes a bit longer to turn on the system with the remote and it'd be nice if more of the buttons correlated directly with some of the necessary functions.

PS4 is great but it has been missing something, a remote.

Has far more buttons than we will ever use. We use it for the PS4 and tv. Kind of annoying that you have to hit the PS button before using it every time, but otherwise fine.

After suffering with using the controller to watch movies for so long I was excited to see a remote come out for the ps4! No more accidentally hitting the sensitive l2/r2 buttons and interrupting the show. This remote is well made and more polished than the ugly PS3 remote and the functionality is fantastic. All around the build quality feels superior to its last attempts and is really pretty nice.

This remote is a must have for anyone who uses their PS4 to watch Blu Ray movies. Using it simplifies the process of watching a movie instead of using the controller.

Great remote for the price and does everything you will need. Easy programming.

The positives - controls the PS4 without having to use a dual shock or smart device. Quite good, although not designed as well as it could be. However: * does not work in all apps * the button arrangement is non-intuitive * certain buttons are missing - no R1 or R2 * the green Learning key does not function as intended * AMP volume control does not punch through PDP has advised me that the only way to gain the functionality promised is to return the remote to PDP for a replacement. I am still waiting for the authorization paperwork to mail in my remote; the company is not very responsive.

Does everything a universal remote can do. Easy to operate and the price was great!

Best way to watch any movie/Hooloo. It comes in handy.

Easy to set up, only problem is that it doesn't come with batteries lol

If you have PlayStation Vue, this remote is better than using the controller. You can control a PS4, T.V., receiver and cable box, but not a PS3. It works via Bluetooth which turns off after a certain time of non use. This creates a annoying wait time to get the Bluetooth to start up again when you want to do something, i.e. change channel, volume. You have to choose the device you want to use, wait for 3-5 seconds for it to reconnect then you can change the channel or volume. It's a very basic remote, but in my opinion, better than using the game controller. At $15., it's worth it.

This thing really hasn't changed since PS2 DVD days and it would be nice it they made the layout a little easier for non-gamers (my wife) to use. Still far better than having her use a PS4 controller.
