If you think you need it get it. But not to use full. It's more like a joystick. And not a remote. It does not have the feel of a remote at all.

Not made by Sony. Controlled the PS4 ok, but couldnt get it to control my receiver. Had to take it back.

More and more I use my PlayStation for watching tv and internet. This remote makes it better and now my controller batteries aren't constantly dying. A bonus was that it easily works as universal remote for all of my a/v equipment.

Works well and the learning feature is a plus. Batteries drain rather quickly though.

Since I’m not a gamer but like to use the PS4 to watch movies, I find it difficult to use the controller to fast forward, rewind and pause while watching movies and shows. This remote makes it very easy.

It does the job just like the PsS 2.0 remote did. You can set it up to control the TV and the PS4.

Set up is a little tricky, but once you figure that out it worked with all of my AV equipment and TV.

The remote works well easy to use if you are not a gamer. Works well to play movies and your apps.

This controller works well for what it is suppose to do. It controls my PS4 without any problems, and makes playing movies so much easier for other family members who can't remember what keys do what on the PS4 when watching a movie.

Like that it can act as a universal. Wish it would auto turn on when you select a button.

The remote is good, but is overly complicated for what I need it to do: start/shut down the PS4, play Blu Ray or Netflix, and that's it. There are a LOT of buttons, and it's easy to get confused. The remote doesn't always stay connected, since the PS4 auto-shuts off devices when they're not in use, and I have to start it up a few times to get it to reconnect.

When it works, it's terrific. However, it occasionally has some trouble connecting to the PS4.

Initially I had trouble syncing it with my PS4 but once it connected, controller worked flawlessly and set up with my tv was even easier. Definitely easier to watch a movie with a normal remote than the game controller.

Much easier to use than traditional controller when using PS4 to play movies. Easy to program.

The PS4 remote was easy to set up, and makes controlling PSVue much easier.

An EXCELLENT remote and a far more versatile option than the newer "media remote." It all feels very sturdy, not cheap in the least. Buttons have a great "click" to them. The universal functionality allows me to control my Samsung TV, Yamaha receiver, and PS4 without any problems! It does go to sleep after about 30 minutes, so if you're watching a movie it has to "wake up," which only takes a second and is by no means a dealbreaker. The battery life has an advertised 25% increase, and while I have no basis for comparison, I can say that I haven't been disappointed by the battery life. My only regret is not buying it sooner - it is SOOOO much nicer to use than a controller and juggling 2 other remotes.

Needed a remote that allowed my daughters to use apps and watch streaming services without using my controlling and constantly having to charge it. This is perfect.
