    Great universal remote for PS4

This remote is great, I needed a new one for my tv as well as wanted something to control my PS4. You can use it to get around on the PS4, like through the store and main menu, turn the system on, and it also works with most streaming services. I say most because Hulu doesn't have full support yet. You can open the app and pick a show or movie, but once it's selected you can go back. All in all, if you own a PS4 and need a new remote it's a good choice.

Reliable. Just have to get used to remote going to sleep so you have to click the Playstation button and then the pause button if watching a BluRay.

Much easier using this remote than the controller to watch a movie on the PS4. Bluetooth connection is nice doesn't need to be pointing at the PS4.

Ok, but PS3 remote was better

This remote is just ok. Unfortunately, other than the controllers or maybe a universal remote, I don't know of any other options. The PS4 remote is smaller and sleeker, but it is also missing some features that I appreciated on the PS3 remote. The one I really miss is the Input button for when I want to switch from satellite to the PS4. Now I have to find my tv remote to do that, so that is not as convenient. The controls to run the TV, amp and cable are still there. There are a lot fewer buttons to control DVD playback (no more slow/step forward or backward) and there are no longer buttons for audio, subtitle, angle, or display. Finally the remote apparently goes into sleep mode to save energy, so it's pretty annoying to have to wake it up after it has sat for a bit. All in all, it makes it somewhat easier when I am watching DVDs, but for an upgraded machine, the remote seems to be a step backward, and for more money to boot. I would reluctantly recommend this to a friend.

I owned the similar controller for the PS3 and was disappointed to learn that it wouldn't work with the ps4 when I purchased it a year ago...I was even more disappointed when I found out Sony didn't make a controller for the ps4...so thank you Sony for finally putting this out there...it works great

You can run you PS4 as a content streaming device using a game controller but it is not easy (and you look dorky doing it). With the remote, you have all the same functionality as any other piece of your entertainment center. If you are going to use your PS4 to stream content, you should get this.

I like the remote, it is better than using the controller, but there are a few things I thought they could have improved. It is a bit small, I liked the layout of the PS3 remote better. Also the power button you have to hold down for a bit to use it, which is good and bad. The good, you do not accidentally turn on your system anymore. The bad, the remote shuts off so often in its default power save modes so when you go an pause the show it doesn't until you hold the button down and turn the remote back on. Overall it is a good product.

Honestly I liked the PS3 remote a lot better than this one for the PS4, but it serves the purpose. I was sick of using the controller when I was not playing a game so the remote was finally needed so I could navigate around apps and movies, etc, much easier. I waited for the sale on this. Def worth it though if you hate using the big game controller.

How they don't release this when the PS4 debuts, I have no idea. There is nothing fancy about this version of the remote but it does the job.

Nice remote, does what it's supposed to. Only grip is oddly it doesn't work with Vudu so if you use that a lot, you'll be disappointed.

We upgraded from a PS3 system to a PS4 system, including bluetooth remotes. The PS3 remote was overly sensitive and would turn on the PS3 system if it was just bumped accidentally. This was annoying, but I'd rather have that than an unresponsive PS4 remote that we have to "wake up" to use. The PS4 remote doesn't respond unless the PS4 button, PS4 power button, or a combination of both are pressed many times, and sometimes we have to take the batteries out and put them back in to wake up the remote. All to pause a show or open the PS4 menu that should be a one-button press. However, once it is awake, the remote works just fine. It's just GETTING it to wake up that is extremely aggravating. Half the time we end up just using the PS4 controller instead.

Works great with my Samsung TV but was not able to associate with my Samsung sound bar. Luckily my TV integrates with my sound bar. So I'm able to control my volume of my sound bar through my TV, but I can't power on the sound bar with the PS4 remote. It does power it off though.

With so many devices already owned at home (Chromecast, Roku, Amazon fire stick) I tried not to use my PS4 as a media device but there's just too many options available on this console. This remote is perfect as it doubles as a universal remote and can control what I want on PSN

I was looking all over to find a DVD remote for my PS4. I could not understand why Sony did not have one available for it. I did some research and found this was coming out in October. So I bought it and love it, it works great. Just as well as the one for my PS3 did for it.

The main reason I bought this was because Hulu is completely useless with my Logitech Harmony Companion, and I don't like leaving a controller sitting on the coffee table. With my expectations set by the second-gen PS3 remote, however, I was rather disappointed. PS4 Remote Pros: * It kind of works with Hulu (can't go back - circle doesn't work, stop works in some situations) * When it hasn't gone to sleep, more responsive than the Harmony * Can turn on the PS4 Cons: * No L/R buttons * No proper FF/RW * Goes to sleep after 30 minutes, takes several seconds to reconnect to the PS4 * Feels kind of cheap Sony should have taken the PS3 remote (CECH-ZRC1U model), swapped out select/start for share/options, and upgraded it to Bluetooth 4.1. That's all they would have needed for a near-perfect remote. Why they didn't is baffling. Kind of recommended, I guess, since there's no other real alternatives.

This remote does exactly what it is supposed to. It functions the same way the Sony PlayStation 3 Blu-ray Disc Remote worked, and is so much better for watching videos that the Dualshock controller. If you watch a lot of movies on your PS4, this will make your life easier.
