Before the controller, I use to watch Netflix or Hulu and the ds4 would burn through it's battery. By the time I wanted to use it for hamming it would be dead. This works with my tv, receiver and the ps4. All I need it for.

Everything works as expected, except the volume passthrough. It does not work for the AMP input. Initial responses from the manufacturer is that the manual is wrong and it's not supported. I asked on Facebook and they said they're looking into it. For now, you have to switch inputs to adjust the volume, if you're using an "AMP" or sound bar as it is in my case.

Not a lot of complain from here. I only wish they made the buttons for selecting different devices(TV, Cable, PS4, etc) as big as the power buttons. Aside from that, remote works fine

I wish Sony would have made you be able to pair their sturdy PS3 remote to the PS4. This remote will have to do. Small buttons, very light feel, and no batteries included! Looks good though, and does the job if you want to watch blu-rays and don;t want to fiddle with the controller instead.

works flawlessly with my ps4 did had some difficulty connecting at first but after that it was a breeze

Great remote, but the price was a little steep. Still it beats using the controller to watch a movie.

If you watch any video streaming applications on your ps4, and you like the feel of a tv remote versus a game controller, this remote will make you happy. It works as intended and has all the functions the average user would expect.

This is the third PlayStation 4 remote that I have tried and by far the best one. I can actually turn off and on the PlayStation with this remote which is very important, play and pause and everything works great highly recommended!

Works well as a universal remote. Some times when watching Hulu it's difficult to back out of a menu.

Well it took what like 2 years for Sony to license and release an official PS4 remote. I see zero reason why the previous ps3 media remote could not be supported as they are both Bluetooth remotes. At any rate this is a nice remote, slim, works well with most media playing apps on PS4 but is not currently supported by YouTube app which is a downer.

The PS4 controller is great but i want to make sure that my controller stays fully charged when im ready to play games. Whats nice is that i can also use this remote to replace my tv remote since it acts as a universal controller

I picked this up for my PS4 so I could stop using my controller for the fact that I like to watch movies a lot and the constant turning it on to select the menu, pick the function I want, then close it again was sometimes a hassle. Might seem strange but I do like having everything flow smoothly for me so this remote definitely gets the job done and it stays on for a good while like 20-30min before you have to turn it on again. you can tell when its on when the upper right corner of the remote flashes red when you push a button on it. I don't use the full feature of it like tv stuff but im sure it works just as well. I have other remotes for my soundbar/TV so the universal part of this, I don't use it nor have I ever had a problem with connectivity issues regarding universal features such as TV spazzing out while using this remote for PS4. The quality feels good and smooth w/ an extremely soft textured feel (feels smooth), the buttons themselves are soft rubber but firm and no receiver is needed for this. you turn it on and connect it to the PS4 via the controller screen under settings. I forgot exactly how since its been awhile since I bought this but I wanted to try it out a couple "months" (2 years; I forgot) and make a good review on what the pros and cons were. I have to say that there really is no cons to this. It does what its supposed to, it helps me do the functions I want to by having instant access to pause/play/fast forward etc functions without having to turn on the controller. Works great!

Great controller for watching movies/Netflix. You won't have to worry about accidentally hitting the L2/R2 button and rewinding/fast forwarding through something. I haven't had a chance to link it to my tv but plan on doing soon.

I was really excited to get this remote because we also own a Sony TV and I was hoping it would make it so we only need 1 remote when watching movies on the PS4. While it synced fine, you have to press the TV button to even just adjust the volume which is terribly annoying. If you forget to press it, then it does nothing. It works great for the PS4, it just wasn’t quite everything we were hoping for.

Works as good as I expected. A few things not compatible yet but hopefully that will change later.

...got less, bought the remote for basic media purpose , Netflix, Hulu, etc... On anything I play through the "media player" app works fine.. While on Netflix/Hulu, fast foreword, pause, play, rewind, skip, etc. does not work, also volume doesn't work for my Samsung surround sound, but does for Samsung tv.. Guide does not work for cable provider..

I watch movies and shows on the ps4 often and I was tired of dealing with a controller. This payed for itself the first night I used it. It controls the cable box, the TV and of course the PlayStation. It makes watching easy.

Great remote, functions just like the PS3 remote so no need to learn new buttons and functions. The only part I don't like is there is a new "power save" function–it goes to sleep. It's frustrating if I'm watching a movie and I want to pause it quickly, I have to "wake it up" by pressing the PS button then wait a few seconds until it blinks red and then I can pause. Not the worst thing in the world, but can be frustrating.

It may have taken a year, but PlayStation finally made a great remote to use as a functional device. It does everything as advertised and allows me to not have to use my PS4 remotes to play movies. Great job and easy to use
