Purchased this for my husband as an Anniversary gift. He absolutely loved it. I was worried about getting if paired with his Samsung Note but it was a breeze. Download the Pebble app and it walks you through. Takes a little to get used to the buttons but a definite great investment. Well worth the price. He works in a TV studio and its hard for him to get to his phone but now he can view texts and see incoming calls on his wrist. He loves it. Very happy with this purchase.

I like it. Stays charged. Waterproof ( doesn't say it on box but Google it, or watch you tube. It is) notifications are super handy for txt and calls. Apps are ok. More gimmicky than handy. Stays charged about 4 full days. Much longer than a Fitbit. Fitness apps work well. Good little modern watch!

Good intro into the world of Pebble

I initially bought this Pebble Classic(PC) to try out their smart watches if it really works with Google fit. I already had a Samsung Gear Fit and pretty familiar with the world of Smart Watches.
When it comes to watches, here are the main essential things I am looking for:
* Act like a watch - which provide me time without pushing multiple buttons.
* Notification of a text and appointments. I am usually in meetings most of my days. I rely on this feature to notify me what is next on my schedule. Furthermore, when my watch beeps, I can pull away from my clients without looking rude via using a phone.
* Work with my health eco-system: i.e. Google Fit.
* The watch is supposed to help me - not something I need to ‘babysit’:i.e. thousand clicks and constant worries of running out of juice.
The PC does this seamlessly what I have indicated above. Here are few other positives that make this watch desirable:
* No touch screen. I am glad it is this way for its preciseness and there are NO accidental clicks.
* Pebble's vast amount of apps/watch faces.
* Always on.
Extremely battery proficient. It holds a charge like 6-7 days.
Here are few negatives that you need to considered:
* It's not exactly water proof. Hence if you are an outdoor/athletic person consider getting a Garmin Vivosmart instead. Most smart watches are NOT waterproof. Hence this is NOT a huge deal breaker for me.
* It is not as bright/vibrant as the Samsung Gear Fit.
* Majority of the adjustment must be done on the watch vs on the phone - part of the pebble environment.
* The sleep/step count is extremely inconsistent especially try it to update Google fit.
* It is considered outdated by now, especially in the style department. There is no doubt people will notice you are wearing it. This thing is huge and don’t look very appealing on a wrist. My teen would love it, especially the white version.
Overall, I enjoyed it and love the Pebble’s app store. In the end, I upgrade this watch to the Pebble Time Round. That review will be out shortly . Hope this review was helpful.

This smartwatch is a great starter into the tech. The price point is attractive, the battery life on it amazing, and it does everything I personally need. I'm notorious for not responding to texts or answering calls for the fact that I would not carry my phone on me while I would be doing things around the house, or if i'm at the office with headphones in. Having my phone on vibrate for some reason would not register with me on my leg. (I could personalize the vibrate and have it do multiple blips enough to catch my attention, but i'm not trying to burn out my phone's battery all because a SMS has to vibrate 10 times a text) The Pebble with it's soft vibrate on the wrist catches my attention perfectly! Everything on the screen is readable (yes even in sunlight), the look has a nice modern feel to it, and come on it's water proof. Only downside is you can only carry 8 apps at a time on it. Watch faces are considered an app. The upside caused from that downside is that the Pebble itself is lightweight. It's light like a plastic kids watch. Another downside is, some of the apps available in the Pebble App area need you to download another app from your phone's app market place. Those apps can end up being $2.99 or more. Personally for me, the apps I needed were all free. All in all, i would highly recommend this watch...even my boyfriend is liking it so much he's getting the Pebble Steel :)

Just a day after bought it came the 2.9.0 firmware and is incredible what you can do with this watch. Get it now in offer.
Easy to learn and use, you will not miss the touch screen and the battery life is near 7 days if not using a second by second watchface.
Very pleased with it and the wait I did got me what I wanted for a good price.

This watch is just great. The best thing about it is the long battery life (5-6 days). I really like the classic 8bit look although a color screen would be nice. The functionality is just great: the watch vibrates whenever I get an email, a text or a call.
I recommend this over the apple watch for it's great price.

Great Affordable Smartwatch

Great affordable smart watch. Has all the necessities wanted in a smart watch- such as text/email notifications, call (accept/decline), and a million different watch faces and apps. I enjoy the ESPN app and fitness tracker to keep track of my scores on the go (or subtly while out for dinner) and also to keep track of how far I've ran, etc while working out.
Major plus is the ability to use any 22mm watch band. One of the few smart watches that openly advertises and supports changing out the bands to suit your needs and outfit. Another being the e-paper display--a blessing and a curse. Blessing bc it's simple and the battery life is awesome due to it. I have mine paired and in use all day, every day and I can go 5-7 days on one charge. A curse bc it can be a little strain on the eyes and also doesn't have the flair a nice amoled display would. Also love the ability to add and drop apps and watch faces on the go from the app. Holds 8 slots (slots for watch faces or apps). Extremely quick to do and easy to use. You can even design your own watch faces and apps.
At under $100 it's an affordable buy and great watch that even a techie like myself can enjoy. Personally got one to test out and I love it. Will be getting the pebble time steel when it's released due to my great experience with this watch.

Overall, the watch is very cool and it is nice to be able to get caller id, texts, email, and the current temps outside right on my wrist. The display is easy to read. Setting up was a pain at first because the phone wouldn't recognize the Pebble's Bluetooth, not the Pebble's fault though, discovered the HTC phone had to be updated. After, I had to download and install the Pebble app to complete setup. In the future I would like to see a Pebble with a color screen and WiFi built-in. I suggest WiFi because it would be nice if this could more of a stand alone device instead of being dependent on being connected to a cell phone.

After having this for almost 3 months, I've had absolutely no issues. My messages come through instantly and are perfectly legible. Emails are the same. You can't always read an entire email, but usually you don't want to anyway. Of course there's no images in emails or other messages, as the watch is small, but that's not really an issue.
I use this so that I can receive messages quickly and read them easily. I can keep my phone on complete silence and not miss a message. Perfect! I am yet to change the watch band, but as far as I can tell, it will be easy to do, with the right tools!!
I have managed to upload a couple of watch faces and a couple of apps. I generally don't use any apps or games, as they drain the battery much quicker than standard use. Usually the watch lasts around 5 days before needing a recharge, with standard use.
The watch is comfortable and fits to my wrist nicely. It does become an annoyance to wear while typing on my laptop (which is my main job, writing my Master's thesis!) so I have to take it off from time to time.
All in all, a wonderful smartwatch, if a little outdated (with the new, color version out soon!). The Apple watch may be more desirable, but if you don't have a ridiculous amount of money, this is well worth your time.

I think this is the sweet spot for a smart watch these days. It's great at simple notifications for anything that your phone would alert you for. I can leave my phone no vibrate and not miss a notification because the watch vibrating is much more apparent to me than my phone in my pocket.
This watch is also fully waterproof, so I swim with it and even use a free swim app that counts my strokes per lap and how many laps I swim with metrics on all of that. This is the main reason I bought this watch, but I've also found the basic notification capabilities really nice.

I bought this watch because it was on sale for $79.99, plus my son has one. After getting some apps setup and getting SMS msgs and email msgs to display on the watch. I really started to realize that this watch is a great accessory to your phone. I have my phone on a holster and when I receive an alert through my bluetooth headset I would have to take my phone out to see what it is. With this watch I just look at my wrist and if it's important then I respond to the messages. I liked it so much that I ordered 2 of the new Pebble Time watches from the Kickstarter site. Can't wait to receive my watch with the color screen. Hope this helps, my preference of this vs the other smart watches is that I only need to be alerted or have the capability to use an app without taking out my phone. I didn't need another phone on my wrist.

Best smart watch option, but...

Wanting to dip my toe into the smart watch scene, I surveyed all options and concluded that Pebble was the best out there. After owning one for a couple of months, I still conclude Pebble is the best option. I really wanted to like the Samsung and Sony offerings but those have so many shortcomings that would eventually cause me to leave them at home instead of wear them.
For notifications, Pebble is great and just what I expected. I am able to turn off all sound on my phone ad let Pebble tell me when I have an appointment, text message, email, phone call, etc. It's also nice to be able to design your own watchface to customize information, e.g., time, date and next appointment is one I created that I really like. However, notifications is about all it does. I had high hopes for Pebble Locker which in theory automatically locks your phone lockscreen whenever the watch strays too far from the phone (or vice versa), however, performance is unreliable and not something I feel comfortable using.
After wearing the Pebble for a few weeks I ordered a new band on Amazon and it was easy to replace it and ended up with a very nice looking wrist piece.
Overall I'm confident that Pebble is the best smart watch that is available today, but I just can't give it more than 3 stars due to the limited functionality provided by available apps. However, if you want to try a smart watch, I highly recommend the Pebble.

The Pebble is a notifier watch that lets you see your incoming messages and emails, as well as caller identification, at a glance. I use mine for seeing at a glance who is calling, or messaging me, while I'm driving, rather than having my phone out on the seat next to me and grabbing it, putting in my unlock code, and navigating to either email or messaging. The battery lasts me 2-3 days easily, I charge it in about an hour in the morning before work. If it's really down, I have an extra cable in my car and charge it there, too (another 45 minutes). The only thing I don't like is the font- my aging eyes sometimes have a hard time distiguishing the letters. I have it on large font, but it's a little bitty screen, sometimes the bold fonts tend to cram together. If I have my glasses on, it's no problem. All in all, it's great, I really like being able to get messages with my phone pocketed, in meetings, with my phone on silent...just checking the time....lol...

Got this with a .edu email address with further discounts. Using it with an Iphone, not bad at all, set up is easy, you will need some apps from Pebble to really get great use out of it. Lots of faces and useful apps available.Happy to be able to get all my notifications and alerts by just looking at my wrist, can even see who is calling and can chose to reject or answer. Battey life is awesome, goes days without needing recharge.

I bought my pebble after the recent discount. I'd been thinking about getting one for a long time. I previously had a first version galaxy gear and was overall disappointed with the battery life and felt the final product was half baked. I also previously had fitness trackers from fitbit ( the One and the Flex). I wanted something that could track activity level, give me notifications and let me control my media devices.
Once pebble was updated to add fitness tracking, I was sold given the discount.
I got the jet black original model. The first one I got had some yellow discoloring visible along the borders when the backlight was turned on. It was not very noticeable but annoyed me. I RMAd it back to pebble which has pretty quick service and got my replacement in 3 or 4 days.
Unfortunately the replacement had the same issue and one of the buttons was permanently depressed. RMA 2 was likewise quickly handled and I got my replacement in another 3 or 4 days. This one has the discoloring when back lit but is barely visible. I'm not totally sure I'm not imagining it. I'm keeping this one because I think it a common issue and not bothered by the almost unnoticeable issue.
Overall very pleased with their customer service as to RMA process. Love the watch. Great features. There was recently an issue where people who upgraded or reset their phones couldn't access their apps on pebble's server, and their server support team did NOT do a good job providing an update even though there was a workaround.
Ultimately I am very happy with the watch. If I had to do over I would probably get the steel as I am a professional and the watch isn't suited to more formal business settings. That is somewhat alleviated by the customization that can be done to fancy up its appearance (any 22mm band will fit it and many skins and covers are available on the aftermarket).

This is a great, light weight watch that holds a charge for a long time. I got it for bike ride tracking, and that used my nexus 5 GPS. For some reason the two devices never played well together. Notifications worked great, but bike app never synced up. Shame too, since this is so affordable. Ended up getting a Microsoft Band. Not nearly as light or as many apps, but handles bike rides like a champ.

Bought this watch for my brother in law. My sister in law bought him a Go Pro for Christmas so we went to Best Buy to purchase a remote for his new camera... $80 for a remote? Crazy!! One of the employes at the Best Buy in Grossmont.... Excellent customer service by the way!! Had mentioned his Pebble Smart Watch has an app for a remote. So for a little more than the remote my brother can now be 007 and control his Go Pro with his Watch!! I have the Pebble Steel and I love them both. The Pebble is a great way to get into the smart watch world. Just like a Iphone it's easy to operate. It doesn't do every thing the $300 watches do but I have a Smart Phone to do what the watch doesn't. It's a great purchase but you should read all the things it does! I recommend it for sure!!

I bought this to pair with an iPhone5. It took a bit to sync, but once the Pebble and the iPhone were synced via Bluetooth, I am now able to receive texts and e-mail notifications on the Pebble. The watch sends a subtle but distinct vibration to let you know you have something to check. That is the main advantage...the ability to know that there is something I need (or DON'T need) to take care of without having to get my iPhone out.
You can choose which e-mail accounts and apps send a notification. There is a bit of a learning curve for that, but once you know the process, even getting ESPN and NFL notifications is seamless.
There are hundreds of available watch faces, and it seems every sports team (both pro and college) has a fan who has made a watch face. Similarly, fans of TV shows and sci-fi have created their own faces, too.
One very nice feature is the ability to play music (stored / Pandora / Spotify) through my car stereo, as the watch allows me to pause, skip forward or skip backward. I don't have to be a distracted drive...I just press one button on my wrist to make it happen.
I have had less success with watch faces that are supposed to display additional information (such as scores or weather), despite installing the httpebble app on the iPhone.
One unexpected surprise was that RunKeeper (a workout app for the iPhone) automatically synced to the Pebble, so now it displays time / miles / pace on my wrist with the iPhone in the pocket when I am out walking or running.
A new Pebble app store is due to launch soon, so even more surprises await!

I have been watching the Pebble smart watch development since it first came out on Kickstarter. I liked the idea, but I didn't think that I really needed one. A few weeks ago, I realized that I was missing many calls and texts because I could not feel my phone vibrate in my pocket as I walked. I noticed that Best Buy had a student discount for $20 off this watch. I decided to buy it as I thought it would be worth it for that price. It has solved my issue of not receiving calls or texts, and the watch is overall amazing. It works great, and I look forward the new timeline software that Pebble just announced.
