I bought this for a kitchen remodel. I’ve used various Philips Hue lights extensively before and find them easy to install and connect to the Hue app and Alexa. This slim 6” downlight is 5/8” thick around the edge but then steps up to around 3/4” in the middle. See photo for how it changes thickness. If your ceiling sheetrock is 5/8” then you have more flexibility in the placement of the downlight - e.g. you can install it right up against, or slightly overlapping a ceiling joist, provided your building code allows it. That’s impossible with the can type of downlight. If you’re using solid wire connections and need to remove them for whatever reason, there’s a trick to it if you don’t want to destroy the connector block. The solid wire can be removed by rotating it counter clockwise, like a screw. I don’t think this is mention in the installation instructions.

These are the perfect lights for your home. I even installed them myself. They’re great the kids love to change the colors guests love it and it can connect to Spotify for spontaneous dance parties. Or you can connect them to Alexa n setup routines for Christmas birthdays or when you say “Alexa I’m Batman” and the lights turn red n rain sounds play while you look at the window thinking how to save Gotham. They’re really great lights.

Great lights, really easy to fix by ourselves if there are no cans installed in the ceiling, you may have to cut the drywall a bit to accommodate the 6” diameter lights, these are very sleek and beautiful after installation.

I bought this product to replace my old, recessed lights in the master bathroom. I was impressed by how easy it was to install and connect to the Hue app. The light quality is excellent, and the color options are endless. I love being able to set different scenes and moods with the lights. They are also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, which makes them even more convenient. The only downside is that they are a bit pricey, but I think they are worth it for the features and durability. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for smart lighting solutions.

My installation was a retrofit from surface mounted LED fixtures. Even for a more involved install like mine these were relatively simple to install and I had all four in and operating within 30 mins. They looks clean and are easy to set up.

These are expensive, but they are worth it if you already own a bunch of hue products. If you don't then this really doesn't make any sense unless you plan on building out a hue ecosystem. As far as functionality goes they work as advertised and I've had zero issues with them.

Purchased multiple and one was faulty. It was disappointing to not have good customer service.

Purchased new but received refurb, smashed box. Will consider Amazon for my purchases from now on. I don’t see how this is acceptable to ship to a customer purchasing product that is listed as new.

If you have 4" cans (most people I know have 6, so double check), these are perfect drop in replacement lights. The color is great, they dim well, and they were easy to install. For a long time I did not like Hue lights because I didn't want to control my lights from my phone, I wanted to use a switch. Nowadays you can get zigbee switches that can be paired to these lights to control the lights (on/off, dim) as well as smart control with your app. When you have it setup this way it's very family friendly. Hue lights have become one of my new go to lights, and while they are not the cheapest, they are some of the best lights out there.

These were quite slim, so much nicer than the other Hue lamps that fit in a former installed “can” housing. Since this was a new installation in our standard plasterboard ceiling, replacing a chandelier fixture, it was an easy installation and provided us a much more modern appearance with full “smart light” benefits. A definite upgrade over the ugly fixture that we have been trying to ignore for 20 years

The setup was super easy, especially with the compatibility for Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. I had it up and running within minutes! They are easy to install. They are quite bright and look elegant.

From their sleek design to their exceptional performance, they have truly exceeded my expectations. But my problem is that all lights wont sync together and bridge is useless

These worked out wonderfully. They install perfectly in a 6 inch cutout. The installation process was super easy too. The light out of them is very diffuse. I installed 6 in a black room and there is plenty of light.

I love these lights. My living and dining rooms had nowhere near enough light in them. Now, I can see! I love the way they look in the rooms and that I can use Alexa to control them.
