Philips BT7670: Revolutionizing Beard Trimming

The Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer 7000 is a modern wireless metal trimmer that's not only precise but innovative. It stays sharp, it's precise with over 40 length settings, it catches hair as you trim (leaving your sink as clean as when you started), and it gives you the power you need no matter what hair type you have. The features that stand out to me are the hair catcher that helps prevent a mess at the sink, the self sharpening metal blades that help keep the blades from going dull, and the exceptional battery life, lasting up to 2 hours. There's also beard sense technology that helps detect when to tackle the denser areas of your beard.
-Unboxing-
The Beard Trimmer series 7000 comes with fading combs, a hair collector, charging stand & cable, a full metal blade, a wide metal trimmer, a detail trimmer, and multiple adjustable combs that help capture hair efficiently. The boxing is basic and it's fairly easy to get setup quickly. There's nothing luxurious about the packaging but it's organized and everything has its place. It's got a good grip pattern and it's easy to hold weighing in around half a pound. There's a stand that uses a USB-A cable for charging, (wall adapter needed.) I do wish it was USB-C but I still have a few USB-A blocks lying around the house so I used one of them.
-Specs & Features- One critical feature is that it's 100% waterproof. This also means it can be cleaned easily by running water over it, or you can get a quick shave in the shower if necessary. There are 40 length settings in .2mm increments from .4mm to 20mm. The battery holds a charge for approximately 120 minutes, plenty of time for a weeks worth of shaves. Charging time is about an hour, but you can charge 5 minutes and it will get you through your next shave if you need it.
-Performance-
The motor provides enough power for all of my beard trimming tasks. I have fine hair and it had no problem trimming. I do have some areas that are more dense than others and the motor had no problems with the beard sense technology. The smaller blade is convenient for shaping and it works well. I actually used the wider blade for close trimming and it was smooth and sharp. The medium blade is perfect for all of your add-on combs. The BT7670 is Philips' attempt to clean up the mess we often leave behind at the sink and it does a good job. The attachment clips over the trimmer head and creates a small area to catch hairs. There will be a few that escape but I'm happy with how it works. The grip is good wet or dry. I've had trimmers in the past that once they get wet they will slip right out of your hand, this isn't one of them. The precision dial feels good and has good tactile feedback. It's great for dialing in the exact length of your beard in small increments. The charging stand is a good weight and sits on the counter nicely. The blades felt sharp after a week and don't require oil. The lift and trim system is pretty clever. It helps reduce the amount of passes needed for a trim. The blade is sharp but smooth and accurate. Cleaning is easy. After a couple of uses I remove the attachments, run it under the sink and gently dry it. The strength of this trimmer is its versatility. It has an attachment or setting for every kind of beard. Changing out the blades is quick and easy too.
-App-
The app is creative. The most useful tools I got out of it were the guides on different beard styles, and the ability to use your camera to see what styles might look good on your face. There are a ton of useful guides and resources to learn and get tips on everything from skincare to mustache styles. I like what the app has to offer. I do wish it had a few more specific model tips, resources, and advice. You can also register your device. The warranty is exceptional, expiring in 5 years.
-Pros & Cons-
*Pros*
*40 Length settings
*Multiple attachments for every type of beard style
*Excellent battery life
*100% waterproof
*Quiet
*5 minute charge will get you through a session
*Travel Pouch holds everything together
*Hair catcher
*Outstanding trimming performance
*Suggestions/Needs Improvement*
*No wall adapter
*USB-A Cable
*Fading combs have a bit of a learning curve
After using the Philips Norelco BT7670 for almost a week, I can confidently say they have made an excellent product. There are a host of innovative features like the hair catcher, the length settings dial, and the app is a good attempt at providing extra resources to the consumer. This beard trimmer will become a standard part of my morning routine. Highly recommended.

BACKGROUND: For the past 35+ years I have sported a fully trimmed beard. Have been using a competitor’s rechargeable trimmer that has served me well over those many years. But currently this trimmer is no longer able to hold a sufficient charge. Time to move on to newer technology.
BOTTOM LINE: The Philips Norelco - Beard Trimmer Series 7000 is a full featured beard groomer that includes most everything required to keep your beard in GQ condition. Feels substantial holding in your hand and is easy to control when using. Clean cuts that collect the majority of trimmed hairs, but not all as I somewhat expected. The only negative is the use of a USB-A charging cable with a proprietary end for the stand or when used directly at the base of this trimmer (see pics).
RATING: After using for a few days, I believe the Philips Norelco - Beard Trimmer Series 7000 earned itself a solid 5-Star rating. Add another Star if you are able to pick up while on sale. And yes, I will retire my current trimmer and use the 7000 exclusively.
TL;DR
ATTACHMENTS: Well, this 7000 Bear Trimmer includes options that can replace a few dedicated trimmers you may own. I will probably just use the default blades with the default short-comb. Plus, will also use the included Full Metal wide trimmer for the back of my neck when I cut my hair (yep, I use a Flowbee...). Note that the three cutting attachments are really easy to remove and replace by snapping in/out.
HEIGHT ADJUSTMENTS: With the precision step micro-adjuster, most all users should be able to find an acceptable cutting height. It took a very short time to match my old trimmer height to the 7000 trimmer. And for those who want longer beard growth, you can replace the default short comb (0.4 to 10mm) with the long comb (10.4 to 20mm).
PLASTIC COMBS: Here is what I believe will be this trimmer’s “Achillies Heal”. The primary combs have dual long plastic adjusting tabs/post that may break over time or if you accidently drop this trimmer. Therefore, one must be extremely careful when removing the comb to empty the clip-on hair collector.
CHARGING: I had no issues when using this 7000 trimmer regarding battery life. It’s new, it has more than sufficient Lithium-Ion battery capacity (120 mins advertised), and it appease to charge quickly. Being able to charge by either using the self-standing base, or with the charging cable connected directly to the bottom of the trimmer, is a nice touch.
USB-CABLE: My only negative, as mentioned in my “Over Assessment”, is the use of a USB-A cable with a proprietary “polarized” connecting end. A standard USB-C to USB-C cable would in my mind have been a better option that would allow for a quick and easy cable replacement if misplaced or if/when damaged.
BLADES: All three provided blades are “quick-release” and very easy to replace one for another. Note that only the default “Full Metal” blade will accommodate the numerous comb attachments. While the “Wide” and “Trimmer” blades are dedicated special use without combs.
HAIR COLLECTOR: This is a unique feature that I believe has merit collecting the lion-share of cuttings. Recognize that some loose cut hairs will still fall to the floor or counter top. While other stray cut hairs did end up being inadvertently collected between the metal blades and the rotary motor assembly. Therefore, you will need to remove the comb, then the blade, use the include small brush, and clear out those straggler hairs that tend to work their way in that confined area.
5-YEAR WARRANTY: Inside the packaging is a QR code that states 5-Year Warranty. But using my mobile phone to access the QR code guided me to downloading a phone application. Well, I don’t need, or want, an app on my phone to use a beard trimmer. So sadly, I will have to pass on that option...

A good, solid trimmer...

Background:
I have a thick beard (sometimes it’s long, sometimes it’s short and sometimes I shave it off.) Because of this, I’ve used a professional grade, plug-in type trimmer for many years. That trimmer is heavy and a bit difficult to maneuver due to its weight and the power cord. I wanted to try something lighter & battery powered so I got this Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer Series 7000 to try out.
The Good:
This is a light weight, battery powered beard timer that fits nicely in the hands and has easy to use controls. It comes with a few attachments for trimming different areas. It also comes with a narrower blade and a wider one. It basically comes with what you need and not a bunch of attachments that you won’t use. The best one is the hair collector. It works way better than I expected.
Being cordless and light, this trimmer is much easier to maneuver than my old one. The trim guard is easily adjustable via a dial in the body and offers a decent level of adjustment. The battery charges quickly in the included stand and seems to last quite a while. I’ve done over an hour's worth of trimming without recharging. There is a clear charge status light on the trimmer. The kit comes with a bag that easily holds the trimmer and all the accessories, including the charging base. The charging cable plugs into a USB A Charger and not a wall outlet. Because of this, there is no bulky plug, just a thin cable.
The Bad:
The worst thing for me is it doesn’t trim my heavy beard very well with the adjustable guard on. I have to make multiple passes to get a noticeable trim. Without the guard, it trims very well but it is difficult to control to get a smooth cut. It's easy to get a divot without the guard. Additionally, the hair collector attachment can be difficult to get off to empty and clean. It requires removing the trim guard first. It would be better if it could be removed in one step. Finally, the charging cable plugs into a USB port on one side, but the other side is a proprietary 2 prong plug. I don’t understand why this can’t be a USB C port. It would be much more convenient and easier to replace if lost
Conclusion:
It's good but not perfect. At least for me. I’m giving it 4 stars because the deficiencies are minor but they are still there. It will make a great travel trimmer or to use for a quick cleanup. However, I think I will stick with the old plug-in trimmer for my major cleanups.

I shave my beard and head (bald) a couple times a week. I got the Norelco beard trimmer to replace 2 older trimmers (a larger one that is corded and a nearly dead battery powered detail trimmer). My old setup was a pain to carry around on trips and I was always looking for a plug to shave. I really like that the Norelco includes a variety of heads and combs, can charge via USB, and it all fits in the included carrying case. Unfortunately, I find myself missing my old trimmer's fixed length combs, because the adjustable ones on the Norelco just don't perform as well as I had hoped.
Norelco includes an optional charging stand (the same cord can also connect directly to the shaver). There is no USB power adapter included, but I installed a few USB outlets around my house and I can just borrow my phone charger on trips (just remember the supplied cable). The battery life is good, enough for at least 4 complete shaves for me (120min. is the spec. provided by Norelco).
The Norelco is very quiet and lightweight with a good fit in my hand (especially compared to my old trimmer) . It as plenty of power and the blades cut smoothly with no pinching or grabbing. There is a hair collector that can be snapped on below the blades to reduce the amount of hair you get on the counter (it catches around 70% of the trimmings).
There are 3 heads: wide for shaving with no guard, full size for use with the adjustable guards, and a small head for detail. It is pretty easy to swap between them; they just snap in and out. I would suggest keeping them in a plastic bag in the carrying case, because they do have a little grease on the bottom from where they connect to the trimmer motor. The detail head worked really well for trimming around my mustache, but the wide trimming head doesn't get as close as I was hoping (not a deal breaker for me because I typically finish my head using a razor).
You get two adjustable combs (short and long) and a set of fixed length fading combs for edges. For the adjustable combs, it is very easy to set the length using a wheel on the trimmer and the length settings are clearly marked for the two different guards. My biggest dislike is the gap between the adjustable combs and the blades is too large at some length settings. It may just be my hair type, but the extended comb does not lift all of my hair into the blades because of the gap between the comb and blade (it is especially noticeable on the short combo at the full length of ~10mm). I also don't really like how the combs snap in and out (it feels like they will eventually break from fatigue). It still gets the job done, but it is not as precise as I was hoping.

Cleans Up My Beard and Keeps the Floor Clean

Having a beard while working in nursing sometimes a challenge because of face masks. There are times when I just clean shave it off and start again, mostly due to the time and mess of keeping it at the right length. This trimmer is a game changer because of how easy it is to adjust the length and the fact that it catches the bulk of the mess. I keep the wife happy with a clean bathroom and save myself time.
Everything included feels well-made with quality material. The body is easy to grip and maneuver and has a wheel that allows for precise length adjustment at 0.2mm increments with 40 length options total. It can be charged by placing it on the provided stand or directly connecting the cable.
The main feature that makes this trimmer stand out compared to my current and previous ones is the built-in adjustment knob. With other ones I have to spend time stopping, turning the trimmer off, and switching out guards to adjust the length as I trim different areas. With this, I stop just to turn the knob and continue. Moreover, the hair collector attachment catches most of the trimming inside, greatly reducing the mess. My wife kept saying she was going to buy me an apron that sticks to the mirror and wraps around my neck because she finds hairs even after I clean but now that’s no longer necessary. The blade and trimmers snap out with a simple thumb push and snap on just as easily. All of the accessories are similarly simple to interchange, making the entire process quick. Once done, I just empty out the hair collector and rinse off the whole body. It is worthwhile noting is that the wide trimmer is not compatible with the hair collector.
The blades worked exceptionally, clean cutting in one go with no snagging. I was able to completely shave areas, contour and fade where I wanted the length, and even trim my beard nicely.
The charge is supposed to last up to two hours, which based on my usage would last me weeks. It includes fast charging, and the base is great not just for charging, but also for keeping it stored upright while I let it dry.
Overall, I found this bead trimmer to be just what I’ve been looking for in managing my beard without completely just shaving it. It simplifies the process, makes cleanup easier, and really gets the job done well.

Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer Series 7000 is a good minimalist package for us beardos. The kit packs pretty much everything you need into a small carry bag, making it welcome at home and in your backpack, or luggage.
The trimmer package includes three various width metal blade attachments that are easy to snap on and off the trimmer base. You simply lift up on the teeth part of the blade and it will unsnap, allowing you to make blade changes in seconds. The middle width blade allows for the attachments to be used for various hair lengths, whereas the wide and narrow blades are for precision trimming. I have found that all of the blades cut well with no snagging, even when using the middle width blade and its attachments. While using the middle width blade, you have the option of using two attachments that click up and down, using the length dial, in 0.2mm increments. This is a really cool feature that allows only two blade attachments to be used at a wide range of lengths, eliminating the need for a giant bag of plastic attachments. Less plastic = GOOD.
Other noteworthy features are that the blades are designed to be self sharpening, so no messy oil is needed. The entire base and all attachments / blades are waterproof, so you can use this in the shower, and clean it under the sink with very minimal effort. I have not had it long enough to comment on the battery life, but Philips Norelco boasts up to a two hour runtime, which when I think about it, is a really long time, and should last on weekend trips without the need to bring the charger.
All in all, this beard trimmer package includes everything a beardo needs to keep himself looking his best with little to no effort. The blades are sharp and tackle trimming, edging, and detailing with ease. Even if you have a ZZ Top style beard, you can find great use with this trimmer in tidying up your edges and detail spots. Philips Norelco has been in the electric shaving game for a very long time, and as innovation in the shaving market progresses, look no further.

The Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer Series 7000 is a meticulously designed grooming tool, crafted with both durability and efficiency in mind. Its robust build and ergonomic design set it apart from disposable options, indicating a product meant for prolonged use. A notable feature of the trimmer is its Lift&Trim comb system, which directs hairs towards the blades for a cleaner and more precise cut. These combs improve efficiency, minimizing the need for multiple passes and providing a level of control that appeals to those who prioritize accuracy in grooming. Additionally, the inclusion of fading combs allows for subtle variations and customized shaping—an aspect that enhances the trimmer's functionality beyond the basics. The battery performance is also commendable, offering up to 120 minutes of runtime per charge, ensuring prolonged use without the necessity for frequent recharging. The multi-length trimming comb adds versatility, easily accommodating styles ranging from close stubble to fuller beards. Convenience is further highlighted by the Hair collector, which reduces mess by capturing trimmed hairs during use. This feature makes grooming a cleaner and more efficient process. However, not all design elements are flawless. The updated charging port differs from previous Philips models, requiring USB-A for charging and no adapter included. While this is a minor inconvenience, it is disappointing for users accustomed to standardized accessories. Overall, the Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer Series 7000 – Dark Silver stands out as a sophisticated and reliable grooming tool. Its combination of precision, durability, and careful design positions makes it a solid competitor in the high-end trimmer market. For individuals with beards wanting a blend of accuracy and ease of use, it serves as a dependable option.

A Great Upgrade From My Old Trimmer

I was ready to upgrade from my old cordless beard trimmer, and the Philips Norelco 7000 has been a solid step up. My experience with it has been great so far. I’ve tested all the accessories to get a feel for how versatile and easy to use it is. Here are my thoughts.
The Philips Norelco 7000 is a sleek, well-built trimmer that feels comfortable in the hand. It comes with a charging stand, power cord, and a compact fabric case that holds the trimmer and all its accessories. It’s a thoughtful addition that makes the package feel complete.
The short comb comes pre-attached, along with the beard catcher. The catcher works well for quick trims but fills up fast, so you’ll need to remove it when trimming longer beards or other areas with more hair.
Adjusting the length is simple thanks to the built-in dial. You just spin it to raise or lower the cutting length. If you don’t want to use the short comb, there’s a longer beard comb attachment, though I haven’t needed it since I keep my beard short.
You also get right and left fading attachments, a wide trimmer blade, and a precision trimming blade. Swapping out the main blade for these is quick and easy. I didn’t use the fading attachments because of my short beard.
Most people will probably stick with the short comb and use the dial to fine-tune their trim. The extra blades and attachments are useful, but unless you’re maintaining a highly styled beard, which many leave to a barber, you may not use them often.
Trimming has been comfortable and noticeably less messy with the beard catcher. The battery life seems solid, and the unit is lightweight, making it easy to handle. The Philips Norelco 7000 does everything a beard trimmer should and does it well. It’s a precise, reliable upgrade that’s easy to recommend.

For starters, I am typically a huge fan of everything Philips NORELCO, but this trimmer was bundled with several annoyances and unfortunate trends I've seen in a few products across their lineup.
CONS:
1) Promises to catch "up to" 80% of trimmed hairs - after using this for a week, I can confidently say the realistic number is closer to 30-40%.
2) The charger is proprietary - this absolutely drives me nuts. There's no reason why their shavers can't be charged via USB-C or, at the very least, have the Norelco line-up use the same chargers. My snapping point came when I realized the Beard Trimmer Series 7000 would not work with the charger from my Norelco Oneblade. I use both on a regular basis but now I have to occupy two outlets to keep them charged?
3) Cleanup is not a breeze - when the Beard Trimmer Series manages to catch 40-50% of your hair clippings you still have to rinse the guard and the trimmer to get all the hair out. This makes getting all of the clippings in the trash incredibly difficult. You end up rinsing it off in the sink anyway, which defeats the point of catching the trimmings in the first place.
PROS:
1) 120 minutes of runtime and 5-minute quick charge - we all have those mornings when we are running behind only to find our trimmer is dead and needs to be charged because we had a different Philips Norelco product plugged in. Being able to get a quick charge in that situation is sometimes the difference between getting a quick trim in before work or showing up looking like a mess.
2) Precision Dial with 40 length settings - Do you struggle to decide between 3.5mm and 4mm like I do? Fret not, Philips has you covered with 0.2mm steps. In all seriousness, the dial action is rather satisfying to use and it can be easily adjusted with your thumb - not having to constantly swap guards is a massive time saver.
3) Clean cut - The Series 7000 is incredibly sharp and precise. I appreciate the variety of blades included and they all perform as expected.
Final Thoughts:
I wanted to like this trimmer more and I had much higher expectations after using the Oneblade for several years. The Series 7000 Beard Trimmer fell short on the hair collection and non-standard charging cord for me. I picked this up in hopes it would make my mornings easier but I still found myself cleaning up a mess.

Great beard system

I'm one of those individuals that likes a thick beard. I like it well groomed and not straggly like some folks. It maintain that grooming, I need a very capable system for trimming and shaping. I have been using another system from Philips for the past year or two. It works for what I need and is very portable, but it takes some effort. It also chews through blades pretty quickly. This was getting expensive. When I saw the Philips Beard Trimmer 7000, I figured it couldn't hurt to give it a try. After a few week, it's been a great system.
There are several variations of the 7000 available. I got the package that includes the trimmer, 3 blades (normal, wide, and detail), 2 size guards, 2 fade guards, a debris catching hood, and a bag to carry it all in. I have to admit I haven't used all the attachments. The fade guards aren't much use for what I need although they look like they would get the job done just fine. I also haven't used the detail blade yet. The need just hasn't been there. The rest of the items work really well. The size guards fall into two ranges- for shorter areas and longer areas. Each can be dialed within a set range using the dial built into the trimmer. This moves the head up and down within the guard. Once you find your particular setting, it stays in place. I've experienced no drift like I have with other trimmers. The blades are sharp and cut well. Being solid metal, they should last a LOT longer than my previous system that had replaceable blades. I've been extremely happy with the purchase.
There are only a few downsides I've come across that made me drop it to 4 stars. The instruction manual is paper that folds out like a map. It's huge with tiny print that is impossible to read. They need a booklet that is earlier to read or a QR code to a website. What is there now is frustrating. The other issue I had was the trimmer has an attachable debris collection bin that snaps on/off. It's supposed to catch the hairs as you trim. In reality, it captures maybe 10% of the hairs, adds bulk to the trimmer, and really is a waste of space. I used it for the first 2-3 times I used the trimmer then took it off. It's not going back on.
If you're looking for. solid beard trimmer, you really can't go wrong with the Philips 7000. The downsides are minor and the upsides are large.

Trimming beards is a precision game and you need a device that keeps up with an everyday usage. The Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer 7000 offers a lot in its premium packaging, elegant stand design and accessories to get the perfect length.
Note: It comes with a cord to charge, but not a wall adapter to plug in. So I had to go buy one of those.
Overall usage, with five days of using it to keep the goatee trimmed and edged perfectly, this handled pretty well. In my pic I have add to this revie you can see I decided to take my goatee all the way down. It was flawless on that aspect. I did notice at first it acted like it wasn't going to cut but it went to town and fixed itself.
The varying guards are excellent I haven't had to worry about it or its battery life as it charge on the nice stand after I use it. The quick change cutter are a nice feature and for this product it was very nice to have. Easy to swap everything out as needed.
Overall: I'm happy with this premium product, the power life is great, the sharpness was great to me just that one hiccup i never had an issue afterward.

This beard trimmer is very precise and practical. It comes with additional attachments and clippers. It comes with a nose hair or ear hair trimmer. It also has a roll dial to make adjustments to the clipper. This dial can raise or lower the clipper for trimming beards or mustaches. There's also a compartment to catch hair as you're trimming your beard or mustache. This is a wireless unit that can be charged with a charge port that comes with package. The manufacturer also provides an app to register the product and extended warranty. The app also has how to videos and guides on how to use the machine to get a better result. The unit also has a fast charge where if you charge for 5 minutes it can be used to provide a full beard cut. The unit can also be used in the shower. The unit itself feels great in your hand and made with quality materials. Overall this beard trimming unit is very precise and worth the value. I recommend this beard trimming machine for anyone in the market to buy one. This would make a great gift.

The Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer Series 7000 is a fantastic men's grooming product that offers all of the options that a man could want for beard trimming but doesn't forget the basic job of trimming well. Out of the box there is the trimmer with the full metal blades, hair collector, and short comb attached. Also in the box is a wide trimmer, a detail trimmer, a long comb, a couple of fading combs, a charging stand, a travel pouch, and a USB-A charging cable. It is important to note that there is no power adaptor included. The first thing that I did was to charge the trimmer, which can be charged via the charging stand or charged directly. I used the stand and I appreciated the slight weighted feel to the bottom of the stand which helps it to not be easily moved. After the initial charge was done, I used the trimmer on my beard and was impressed the options and precision offered by it. There is a horizontal wheel that is turned to adjust the trimming length of the unit and it clearly indicates the length that is selected. Each click of the wheel changes the trimming length 0.2 mm and there are over 40 lengths from which to choose. I selected a length for my beard and used the trimmer with the short comb. I was very pleased with how it performed, as it cut my hair on the first pass. I also used the detail trimmer on my moustache and cheek areas, and it allowed me to cut those areas with precision. It is waterproof so it can be used in the shower or at the bathroom counter. It felt great in my hand; it never felt like it would slip, and it wasn't bulky. I thought it was fairly quiet compared to the trimmer I was using before. I've used it for a couple days, and it is still going strong. Each charge is supposed to last many hours. Overall, I am very pleased with the Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer Series 7000. I retired my old beard trimmer which I had used for years. It cuts well the first time, and with all the cutting options that are offered I am confident that anyone would find their optimal trimming length.

Nice product, easy to use. Just take the hair catcher off, it’s a little pointless.
