This subwoofer definitely thumps. I put it in my office for the computer and it works perfectly for that.

I bought this to supplement the bottom end performance of my TV audio. Thus far, it works quite well. I've got a couple of REALLY old (I bought them in 1965) Altec-Lansing bi-axial 15" speakers in bass reflex cabinets. I felt a sub-woofer would enhance the performance and, at the same time, protect the old speakers from bass overdrive. I am extremely pleased with the combination, the bottom end of the sound spectrum with movies is a real enhancement to performance as compared to without the sub-woofer. Also, the fact that the sub-woofer could accept the speaker outputs from the amplifier is a terrific plus since the one I am using does not have a sub-woofer pre-amp output. It works flawlessly.

This speaker is a replacement unit for a 26 year old subwoofer that became less powerful. So far, the Polk unit is performing as expected, thoroughly enjoying my music again, with the windows rattling.

Got this product during a black friday sale to supplement tower speakers in my living room, hooked up to a 1200 watt 7.2 receiver. I did not expect huge sound from the 10" woofer, but it surprisingly fills the 20'x18' living room and another 20' into the kitchen. If you're an audiophile looking to complete your THX theater surround, this is not it. Anything less, this product more than gets the job done.

Subwoofers are interesting to review.. They just make low frequency noise. Some are obviously better than others. This unit is different than some others in the bass port is forward firing rather than out the bottom or back. I am not sure of the impact on performance, but in my configuration (3.1) the unit performs well and provides excellent presence in movies and music. For its relatively low price, the unit is a great value.

I purchased this sub with the intentions to try it at home and take it back if it did not perform as well as the "high end" subs. To my surprise it not only held it's own when added to my 6 Def. Tech. speakers but shook the floor and seats. Making my 7.1 THX setup rival larger format theaters.

I have this sub paired with a Onkyo Dolby Atmos Receiver which is calibrated at 100hz. The sub is set at 100hz with the volume just a hair past 1/2. The phase switch is at zero. When watching a 4K Ultra HD Dolby Atmos movie it blows you away. Even if you don't have Atmos it will still spin your top. I have a separate volume control on the amp for the sub woofer so if it needs a little tweaking I can do it remotely. I wasn't sure about purchasing it at first but hearing that Polk made quality speakers I took a chance. Definitely top drawer and will not disappoint even the pickiest audiophiles. 5 *****'s only because there aren't 6. Highly recommended.

Can’t beat this sub for the price. Easy to hook up and really adds to a sound system - action movies really come alive! House shaking thunder if you’d like.

Replaced a 12 year old sub that I had been using as the foundation for 3 different home systems. It finally gave up and wasn't worth the repairs. This sub does an outstanding job for being only a 10.

I bought this sub for my garage, I just wanted a little bass. This isn't a super hard hitting sub but it's only a 10" 100w sub. I did use it on my home theater system at first until I got a Klipsch 12" and it sounded good on that, a good bass but it can bottom out if turned all the way up. It's now sounds great back in my garage and for the money you can't go wrong. Works great, way better than those home theater in a box. You can get a real home theater system with front, rear, surround and center speakers on a budget and this sub, and not spend a whole lot more than a sound bar and weak subwoofer and get a way better more powerful sound

    Best Speaker System There Is!

These Polk speakers are IMO the absolute best-buy if you want a good, classic home theater system. I have the center, 4 bookshelf (wall mounted them), 2 floor speakers, and sub. This system is so clear and so loud that it became unbearable (probably for the neighbors too) at mid-to-high volume on my Sony STR DH770 playing Spotify. Best speakers for the money by far. Wonderful!
