WARNING DO NOT BUY IF YOU’RE A CURRENT QUICKEN USER aka SUBSCRIBER! Best Buy Needs to Add this to the title for the product listing and not just in the picture or overview for the product. Recommend that Best Buy Change: “Quicken Premier (1-Year Subscription) - Mac, Windows [Digital]” To: “Quicken Premier (1-Year Subscription) NEW CUSTOMERS ONLY NOT FOR CURRENT QUICKEN USERS OR SUBSCRIBERS - Mac, Windows [Digital]” Why you ask! Because Quicken has decided that you must renew through them directly at their full retail rate. When you enter the activation code from the digital purchase from Best Buy in Quicken the following message appears: “The product you purchased is for New Subscribers only, and you are an existing subscriber. You can request a refund for this product by going here. In your Quicken software, go to the help menu and select My Quicken Account to review your renewal options.” Your renewal options are only at the full retail rate through Quicken. Since this is a digital purchase from Best Buy you cannot request a refund directly from Best Buy and must from Quicken and wait 3 – 4 weeks for a paper check. Note: Another user in the deluxe version review said they had to request a refund from Quicken for the digital purchase, and purchased the boxed version from Best Buy and that the key code in the boxed version worked for them to renew. Since I have not tried that yet I can not endorse it as a workaround. Every year up to this year I have purchased my Quicken key from Best Buy using the digital purchase option without any issues. I did not notice the picture for the product now has “New Subscribers Only” as I did not pay attention to the picture. I was just looking at the title in the product listing and figured I would do digital since I would not have to pick it up in the store (like I have done in prior years to avoid having to go to the store). This year Quicken has changed it and the DIGITAL PURCHASE WILL ONLY WORK FOR VERY BRAND-NEW SUBSCRIBERS. I even waited until my subscription expired and it still will not let me use the key even though my subscription is expired, and I am technically no longer an existing subscriber and should be considered a new subscriber. Additionally, I would like to note in their own “Quicken Subscription Membership FAQs” last updated on “12/10/2020” that they do not state anything about “New Subscribers Only” anywhere in this FAQ and under the section “Activating a retail purchase” they state the following which, makes it appear that I should be able to use a key purchased from a retailer to extend my Quicken membership: “Can I use a retail copy of the Subscription Release of Quicken to extend my membership? Yes, but you can only redeem the activation code in the retail copy to extend your subscription in the last six months of your current subscription term. Note: Activation codes expire 24 months after being generated.” I feel as a consumer that I should be able to purchase the key from any retailer of my choosing and not just forced to renew directly through Quicken if Quicken sells their product via retail channels. I can renew my Microsoft Office 365 subscription by turning off auto renewal and purchasing it from my desired retailer at a discount without any issues. The same should be true of Quicken. If Quicken does not want to allow people to renew through retail channels, then they should stop selling their product at any retailer and just do direct sales only online. If I were Best Buy, I would tell Quicken that we will not sell any of their products going forward if they will not allow people to buy their renewal keys from Best Buy. At the very least I feel Best Buy should pull from being sold the digital version of Quicken.

Don't buy this if you're trying to renew your subscription. You need to order SKU 6366592 instead. If you do this buy this it will only activate a new subscription and you'll spend hours on the phone to have Best Buy tell you they won't exchange or refund the subscription. You're only recourse is to ask Quicken for a Refund which I've done and hope to receive a check in 4-6 weeks. I think Best Buy needs to emphasis this is the wrong SKU much better. As for quicken... if there is ever a replacement product available that is lower cost I'll be done with Quicken for good. It's expensive... slow (I have 20 years of data in it) and support sucks.

I don't know why this product even exists, since it's only for new subscribers - no different than standard version other than you can download this. Quicken punishes existing users by not letting them download a new version - must get physical disk, unless you want to pay their ridiculous annual fee.

Accidental Purchase. I thought I was buying the regular Quicken at a reduced price. In actuality, this was only for new subscribers, and I was a long-time subscriber, so it didn't work for me. Unfortunately, since this was a digital download, Best Buy couldn't help me and I had to go to Quicken for the refund. It was ultimately my fault, which I admit, the irony is that the version for everyone, including existing subscribers, was the same price, so why even have this version?!?

User friendly, however, it cost extra monthly fees to connect certain bank accounts such as checking or savings for updated transactions through quicken. You do pay for the convenience of having all your bank accounts with just quicken access.

Be careful buying this. When it ride to extend my existing subscription I was informed that this is for new subscriptions only and this was not valid.

It has some issues connecting to other financial institutions. It helped me understand my students loans and helped to save me thousands.

BEWARE. This subscription is only valid for new users. Quicken will not honor the subscription for existing Quicken users. And even worse Best Buy will not refund the purchase so you're out $80 for an unusable purchase.

Bought this to renew subscription. Got message in Quicken software that this is for new subscribers only.

Update the listing title to state this is for new subscription only.

Good product but seemingly less good updates for the price.

Not worth it. Not intuitive. A waste of money. Would not buy again and wish I didn't. Go with one of the newer apps.

I tried to renew my Quicken subscription through the program but got error after error. So I came to Best buy to buy a subscription but Quicken will not take the activation code because I am an existing member. So you get stuck with no way to renew. Quicken has done a very poor job rolling out subscription renewals and doesnt honor what you bought at Best Buy.
