RAYCOP - RN UV+ Handheld Allergen Vacuum I used this on my couch and was very pleased with the ease of use. It is not heavy and glided smoothly across the cushions. There seemed to be a slight difference in the freshness of it-color a little brighter, some odors but it is 7 years old. Continuous use will help with that after a good cleaning. I also did the throw pillows and it was just as easy to use with them. The bed was super easy to vacuum and it felt good knowing the dust mites are gone. The cord is a decent length to reach around the furniture. The filters come out easy and clean up nicely. I would definitely recommend this product.

The solution to pet hair we've been searching for!

As a person who loves animals but abhors pet fur left all throughout my house I have constantly been on the lookout for something that can remove pet hair from our furniture. We found our Shark floor vacuum to be quite effective and that has solved our problem with pet hair on the carpet but the furniture is another story. Enter the Raycop handheld vacuum. While handhelds that run on battery power are convenient they simply do not have the suction power that a vacuum that is running off of electric. This Raycop has a very nice long cord so you can vacuum throughout about 2 rooms, depending upon the size of course, without having to search for a plug. Setup is easy, I read the manual, basically just plug and go and sweep. Most of the manual is dedicated to explaining the filters and how the UV light works but the aspect to just trying this out is pretty much uncoil the cord and start sweeping. This sweeper is, hands down, amazing at pulling up pet hair from furniture, even hair that is stubborn to other methods, this thing pulls up and out. I believe the secret here is the pulsation which moves the hair and allows it to be sucked out. No more hiding! If you're a pet owner let me make it really simple for you: BUY THIS. It may look like an alien spaceship (which is not a bad thing, I think it looks ultra cool) but when it comes time to get down to business, this thing will do what you need it to do fast and effectively. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED!!

    Vacuum with Limitations

The Raycop RN UV Handheld Vacuum does an adequate job cleaning flat bedding and flat upholstery. Sadly, many of the things I would like to clean with this vacuum like some of my bedding, chairs and sofa are not flat. After using the vacuum on several beds and pieces of furniture I have come to the conclusion that this is a very unique product but it has some shortcomings that limit its overall value. Overall: The build quality of the vacuum seems to be solid with easy access to the primary filter, the dust box and the HEPA filter. The cord is slightly over 16 feet long so I had no cord length issues vacuuming a king size bed or a long sofa. The pulsating brush and UV light can be accessed and removed when necessary with minimal effort. The instruction manual recommends using the vacuum on a flat surface and compares the required effort to “ironing”. I don’t know too many people who like to iron but luckily using this vacuum isn’t quite as tedious. The downside is that the vacuum and UV light lose their effectiveness if the surface is not perfectly flat and many upholstered chairs and sofas and some pillow top beds can never be flattened enough to meet that recommendation. The UV light is automatically turned off for safety reasons if the vacuum believes it is not in full contact with the surface. I don’t know if the vacuum is actually picking up dust mites since I can’t see them nor do I know if the light is strong enough or exposed long enough to kill bacteria and viruses so I have to trust Raycom on that claim. Shape: The shape of the vacuum and the handle make it very convenient to clean the surface of a bed but to clean the sides of the bedding you may need to reposition the bedding so the sides are on top of the bed and sitting flat. Chairs and sofas are even more difficult to clean. Due to its odd shape you can never vacuum into the corners or close to where two surfaces meet. There are no attachments to reach into the corners or crevices. At my house that is usually where everything settles including the dust. When you try to vacuum any curved surface the UV light turns off due to the vacuum not being in full contact with the surface. So when I tried to vacuum the upper sections of the sofa and chairs the light would come on and go off regularly. My couch and chair backs are not flat surfaces, there are hills and valleys where there is decorative pillowing. When I used the vacuum over those areas only the areas in direct contact with the vacuum were cleaned. When I tried to clean some decorative pillows I could vacuum the middle of the pillow but the edges were difficult to manage as they became more curved. Filter: The primary filter and dust box are extremely small. This is fine for picking up dust and small particles but anyone with a pet that sheds will have to empty the dust box and clean the filter often. The filter is made up of small squares and the vacuumed particles start to clog these squares which affects the vacuum effectiveness. The plus side is this filter is plastic and reusable, the downside is Raycom recommends emptying the filter and cleaning it in water which is not convenient. The vacuum also has a replaceable HEPA filter that filters the exhausted air from the vacuum. The filter is easy to replace and the vacuum does give you an indication when it needs to be replaced.

I previously tried out the raycon hand held portable rechargeable vacuum and it met the specifications. This item is the same. It did what it said it would. The suction was really good. I used it on my bed and you can literally see the dust and probably all the dust mites get sucked into the clear viewing window. UV light activated while in contact with a surface. Brush was activated all through out. Disgusting how much dust in in our beds. Easy plug the electrical cord in the wall and push 1 single button to use. Fairly lightweight to push around surfaces and use. Not meant for small items. More like linen or beds or chairs or pillows. Clean up was a snap. Pull the canister out and dump and clean and you are all set and ready to go again. This is not meant to clean an entire floor. I guess you can try to do that but you would need to empty this thing out multiple times because the canister is about 1/2 the size of a canned food item at most. Push the back button to expose the HEPA filter to clean as well. Which is easy and quick to do. Anyway, for the intended purposes this vacuum meets what it advertises and does what it says. I would recommend this product.

I was searching for an easy way to clean my mattresses and decided to try out this product. It may look like something out of Aliens movie however it cleans very well and very easy to maintain. I like how you can view the capture container to watch when it gets full. I also like there lights indicating the UV light is on underneath. Overall it feels like a great product , easy to use on mattresses with a great long cord that stretches across the entire mattress

    Handy Little Disinfecting Vacuum

We have the Raycop Omni Power stick vacuum and my wife loves it, one reason because she loves using the UV disinfecting head. With a house full of pets and small kids, there's certainly a need to keep the couches, bedding, and cars clean. That's where the handheld RN UV+ comes in. As a corded vacuum, the RN UV+ maintains a good amount of suction and cleaning performance. My wife enjoys using it as well. Her comments were: "I like it. Easy to use, fairly light weight. I was able to get into the crevices of the couch." I used it to clean out dog hair from our van, it's the car that our dog rides in and he sheds A LOT. If you're familiar with the UV head on the Raycop Omni, then you'll know how to handle the RN UV+. Because the beater brush design, this is not meant to be used on hard surfaces, just carpet, fabric furniture, or bedding. Emptying the debris cup is simple, just pull up on the debris cup and empty it. Returning the debris cup to it's place is as simple as placing it back in the top socket.

I feel like I got my money's worth. My eyes don't itch like before and my daughter can come into my room now without her allergies going crazy, in fact she has started using it for her own bed/linen. The first time I used it I had to clean the filter 4 times, now with regular use I only have to clean once during use. I love it. If you have pets this is a must have! I only gave 4 Stars because I have nothing to compare it with.

Love this. It has the brush roller that helps with clean up. I had a UV light to sterilize my masks and trust that this UV light is operating as advertised. It's not heavy and easy to glide across the mattress and pillows. I feel like I'm getting a better nights sleep.

This Raycom vacuum serves two purposes. First, it’s a simple vacuum cleaner. Second, it’s supposed to kill and vacuum up unseen allergens like dust mites, which are too small to see easily with the naked eye. The first is easy to evaluate, but the second is not. The vacuum couldn’t be easier to use. There are only two items in the box, the vacuum itself and the instruction booklet. There are no attachments or anything like that. Everything the vacuum comes with in terms of filters and so forth are already attached to the machine. It’s a matter of seconds to plug it in and start vacuuming. One of its strengths is supposed to be vacuuming up pet hair. We have two cats who sleep everywhere and who shed plenty of hair. On the sofas on which they sleep, this vacuum does a good job of removing their hair as well as lint and anything else. It’s easy to see how much hair is removed as it collects in the filter which can be seen through transparent plastic. When full of hair, it is a simple matter to open the filter trap and clean it out. The vacuum also has UV lights that are aimed at the surface being cleaned with the idea that this light kills dust mites and other allergens. The instructions say to move the vacuum over surfaces much as you would an electric iron—not too fast and with long, smooth strokes. It is not possible to evaluate the efficacy of the vacuum in removing dust mites because they can’t be seen. But they do contribute to allergic reactions, so, over time, if the vacuum is effective in this regard, and if you suffer from sniffles and sneezes when asleep or simply resting on the sofa, you should notice a decrease in these symptoms. Only time will tell how effective it is in this regard. But as simply a vacuum cleaner, this device is very handy for cleaning non-floor surfaces. It’s small, lightweight, and easy to manipulate. It has a lengthy (over 15 feet) cord, which means that you can cover a lot of ground between episodes of moving the cord from outlet to outlet. As a vacuum cleaner alone, this device’s size and convenience make it worth the cost. The added benefit of cleaning out allergens is a bonus.

    A Curious And Well-Designed Concept

RAYCOP's handheld allergen vacuum is a device that is designed to be used sort of like a large and oddly shaped iron on surfaces like beds and upholstery - except instead of removing wrinkles from fabrics, it removes dust mite debris and other physical allergens and exposes the fabric surfaces to strong enough UV light to reduce the amount of bacteria and viruses present. It is very simple to use - you press a button to turn it on, then you slowly move it back and forth over areas of fabric that might be holding allergens. The vacuum action is quite strong and is assisted by a pulsating beater-bar type brush. Debris is collected in a small dust box with a fine filter - you can see the amount of collected debris from the top of the vacuum. Air is then filtered through a small HEPA filter before being channeled out the sides of the vacuum. The path of suction (about 6.5" wide) is then exposed to a germicidal 8 watt UV-C light. Note: the UV light cycles off when the vacuum is not travelling along a surface as a safety feature to prevent exposure to skin and eyes. The debris collection chamber and filter, the pulsating brush, the HEPA filter, and the UV lamp (and protective tube) are easy to remove and clean or replace. Because it is light and moves easily across the surfaces of fabrics, it doesn't feel like it is doing much work. Before trying this out on my old mattress, I aggressively used a standard vacuum first. What the RAYCOP vacuum was able to extract behind that initial vacuum was staggering (and kind of disturbing). There is no doubt that this vacuum is well tailored to extracting physical allergens from the fabrics closest to your respiratory tract (and, again, it's really going for dust mites here). People with severe allergies might still require additional interventions, but this little tool is a gem. Enthusiastically recommended.

This Raycop vacuum is especially designed to trap and remove allergens, pollen, dust mites, pet dander, etc. and it sure seems to do just that. It’s unlike any handheld vacuum I’ve ever seen. It looks more like a science fiction spaceship, but it’s that flat shape which makes it so easy to use. It works best on a long flat surface, like a bed, which is perfect because that’s where most of your problems with dust mites would be. You use it just like an iron, It’s easy to maneuver. Just glide over your bed’s surface, the UV light turns on which is supposed to kill viruses and their DNA. I can’t comment on its effectiveness with viruses, but I sure can talk about its cleaning efficiency. Even after putting on fresh bedding, the Raycop finds and removes an amazing amount of dust from sheets and blankets. I feel good with that dust gone from my pillows, realizing without the cleaner I’d be sleeping on it. It has a feature I like called “Air Redirect Technology” which allows it to glide over your sheets and blankets without the cleaner sucking up the fabric. I don’t know how they do it, but the vacuum sure removes the dust and any pet hair. It’s not cordless (I guess it needs full voltage for the UV light) but the cord is very long, so there shouldn’t be lots of plugging and unplugging required As far as any “cons” are concerned. With its flat shape the cleaner is best on longer flat surfaces such as beds and sofas. It’s a little more unwieldly on most chairs, as its flat shape makes it more difficult to maneuver around smaller surfaces and also the UV light turns off when the cleaner is not making total contact on a surface (probably as a safety feature) so cleaning and disinfecting a small chair is not as easy. Also the reusable filter is small, so that you’ll be cleaning it often, and the instructions suggest cleaning under water and since the filter must then be completely dry before putting back in the vacuum, you won’t be able to do continuous cleaning for any length of time without stopping and letting the filter dry. Bottom line though, this cleaner is unique in its shape and purpose, removing allergens and disinfecting surfaces around your home, and it seems to do it well. I’m very happy with my Raycop cleaner.
