The Battery life is very good so far, 8+ hrs a day for a week and only at 73% battery! Size and build is nearly identical to v3 as well. There are many options to toggle through for DPI but realistically you would stick to one to maintain consistency in FPS games so personally I stick to using just one setting. Since this mouse just came out recently, the price is kind of on the high end for my taste so maybe wait for a sale if you can, but you can’t go wrong with this mouse if you’re looking for a comfortable smooth mouse for work or gaming!

In the popular world of PC gaming, mice are plentiful, with several competitors vying to win the crown. Among gaming mice, the Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro Lightweight mouse is a strong candidate for the crown. The first thing you notice when you take it in your hand is the incredible lightweight; it’s the lightest of all my gaming mice, and yet that light chassis is solidly built. For me, the simple look devoid of RGB lighting is a welcoming change. On top of the absence of weight , it’s quite comfortable and the buttons well placed to make the finger movements natural. Once connected and updated through the Razer Synapse app, I was ready to go and try my new toy. It’s immediately responsive and the clear cut clicks of the buttons make its presence felt. I chose the wireless ‘Razer HyperSpeed’ option with the dongle that has three indicator LEDs that can also be customized to show different functions. The Synapse app lets you customize the buttons and so much more. For performance, I used the ‘sensitivity matcher’ in the Synapse app to match the Razer mouse to my previous favorite gaming mouse sensitivity. It’s an easy process with the app and it took no time at all. Once the optimal polling rate was established, I customized it through the ‘dynamic sensitivity’ that automatically adjusts it depending on the speed of the mouse movements. My favorite is the ‘jump’ setting when playing my favorite FPS games. You can customize it to your exact preference but, in my case, it’s a work in progress. My favorite customization in the Synapse app is the ‘mat surface calibration’ with ‘asymmetric cutoff’ enabled. Basically, this function allows the sensor to adjust tracking when lifted and when it lands back on the mat. In some games, a millisecond is the difference between winning or losing, and this calibration when properly set-up can give a gamer an advantage. Another favorite is the mouse rotation set-up that allows me to keep my natural angled grip style and still achieve straight vertical and horizontal movements; it improved my performance with games requiring precision. After a full day of long plays, the Razer DeathAdder V4 has become my favorite gaming mouse. The battery life is on par with the best gaming mice out there. After too many hours of gaming, its charge is still over 70%. After the latest firmware update, Razer claims over 150 hours of gaming with a 1000 polling rate. I believe it’s a realistic goal. The Razer DeathAdder V4 gaming mouse is a strong contender for serious gamers looking for performance and a competitive edge. It’s very comfortable, super light and responsive, and the customization provided by the Synapse app is endless. In my opinion, it is among the best gaming mice in the market today. If you get one, you made an excellent choice.

The Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro is billed by Razer as the “Fastest Gaming Mouse.” The mouse has high polling and low latency dongle, an excellent grip, is ultralight weight, and is infinitely customizable and tweaked thanks to Razer’s Synapse software. I am not entirely sure how well some of these claims will truly translate into winning the next gaming session, but it is an impressive mouse. Unboxing: Razer includes the USB-A to USB-C cable, the new spherical dongle, and the mouse. Users should know that Razer’s Synapse software will tell users that they need to download the latest firmware updates from Razer’s website. So, in addition to Razer’s Synapse, expect a firmware update out of the box. Experience: This is an ultra-light mouse with a great grip. It fits my hand very well. The scroll wheel is elevated and precise. The mouse clicks register well. Razer implies that this is the most advanced mouse, and it may very well be, but in terms of gaming performance, the war for performance supremacy is apparently won in inches rather than miles. The leaps may be big, but they never seemed that big to me during my gaming sessions. This mouse feels great, but the shape and weight are not a drastic departure from what has come before. I think the thing that caught my eye the most out of the box was the new spherical dongle that Razer includes. Gone are the days of a nano dongle that you can easily slide into a USB-A port on the side of your laptop gaming PC. This sticks out. The three light indicators are super helpful and are customizable. It is at its best connecting to a desktop on the floor. The weighted dongle has a decent grip on it and will stay well on the desk. It seems a lot of the boosts to the mouse’s performance come down to this new dongle. The dongle is what allows for lower latency and higher polling. Polling is how frequently the mouse updates its positions and reports clicks to the computer. Personally, I noticed improvements at 2,000hz over the 1,000hz default, but I could not say that I noticed any gains after that. In addition, the higher the polling rate, the quicker the mouse’s battery will drain. So, this was, in my experience, a mixed bag of features. I did notice gains, but I am not sure it was enough to call it a “must-have” feature. Rather, the feature that I liked the most was the dynamic sensitivity toggles. How a mouse's cursor movement speed changes based on how quickly you move the mouse is the sensitivity curve. There is a traditional linear acceleration curve, a natural curve, and a jump curve. Or you could create your own. The “Natural” curve worked well in RTS strategy games while the “Jump” curve worked great for FPS twitch fests like Doom: Eternal. The jump curve provides the right amount of instant acceleration yet proved more stable once I was fine tuning my aim. I loved this feature. Battery Life: Battery life has been good, but again your mileage will vary depending on polling rate and usage. Averaging my usage out over five hours, I lost about one percent of charge every hour of use. Now if I turn polling back down, the numbers could improve. Conclusion: I have had many gaming mice over the years, but I keep coming back to Razer’s mice in part because Razer’s software is familiar and effective. It is rare that I ever have a problem with Synapse conflicting with drivers or software from other hardware manufacturers. In the case of the DeathAdder V4 Pro, Razer’s Synapse offers a lot of customization options for the mouse. The options are easy to cycle, and everything works just as I would expect for a mouse of this quality. I am not sure that the DeathAdder V4 Pro is the leap in performance that Razer claims it to be. It is good. It is my favorite Razer mouse to date. It is the mouse that I will use on my gaming desktop going forward. But the polling speed increases felt like a double-edged sword without much benefit. The new spherical dongle looks cool but is less convenient than the prior nano receivers. This is a great mouse. It is the best gaming mouse I have ever used. I do not know if all its features are truly going to be of much benefit to me, but I would still recommend the mouse to gamers demanding the latest and greatest gaming mouse features. I currently own quite a few wireless gaming mice and have been amazed with the improvements with regards to weight, skates, and mouse settings (sensitivity, DPI, polling rates, and lift-off/landing distance). I have been a fan of Razer’s DeathAdder line and wanted to give the DeathAdder V4 Pro a try. The DeathAdder V4 Pro is listed as weighing 56 grams and I couldn't image any additional benefit from it weighing less. The mouse is very comfortable in my medium sized hand, but may be too large for small hands. The best thing about this mouse is the software. Razer Synapse 4 allows programing each setting for every game. It is nice to be able to change the settings for sensitivity and polling rates and save them. I do not play a lot of games which require polling rates higher than 2K Hz, so I can't speak for the added benefit of 8K Hz. I believe the 8K polling rate will only be significant for pro-gamers where a split second matters for combat games. As expected, there are multiple settings for DPI which can be important depending on the monitor and mouse pad used. I have found the lift-off/landing distance settings helpful when I am gaming in my recliner and do not have much room to move the mouse without lifting it up. I like the update Razer had for the HyperSpeed Wireless device. The 3 programable lights provide helpful information such as connection strength, battery, and polling rates. Since many gaming laptops lack many USB-A ports, however minor, I was surprised to find an included USB-A to USB-C instead of a USB-C to USB-C cable. If you are looking for an edge to help win, this is a great mouse. The battery life and lightweight of this mouse will allow gaming for hours. The ability to customize the settings and save them for each game is amazing and this mouse will not disappoint.

Look, I've used pretty much every top mouse out there, and I loved my Deathadder V3 Pro. But let's be clear: the V4 Pro isn't just a minor refresh. Razer took every piece of feedback, cranked it to 11, and created what is, without a doubt, the new best mouse on the market. This is the kind of meaningful upgrade Logitech should have made with their Superlight 2. If you're wondering if it's worth the upgrade from the V3 Pro, the answer is an emphatic YES. The V4 Pro is lighter (56g vs 63g) yet has a noticeably stiffer and more solid build. The new smooth-touch coating is a massive improvement, offering fantastic grip that resists oils. The Gen-4 optical switches are lighter and crisper, and the new Gen-2 sensor and wireless tech deliver the lowest latency and most flawless tracking I have ever experienced. Two standout upgrades are the true 8,000 Hz polling, which now works both wired AND wirelessly, and the brand-new Optical Scroll Wheel. The scroll wheel is a game-changer; it's incredibly precise, consistent, and built to last, making it perfect for crucial in-game actions without fear of mis-scrolls. It feels both lighter and more solid, with perfect weight balancing. • Finally, a Perfect Coating: They nailed it. It's a fantastic smooth-touch material, similar to the GPX, that offers incredible grip and doesn't get slick with oils. Much improved from past models. • New hemisphere dongle is awesome. Heavier so holds it ground wherever you place it. The three LED lights can tell you your choice of battery level, connection quality, polling rate, and DPI stage. CONS: • The Price Tag: You're paying for the best, and it has a price tag to match. • Pingy Clicks: The clicks feel incredible (light, crisp, no wobble), but the right click has a distinct metallic "ping" sound. This is purely an acoustic issue and doesn't affect performance at all, but it might annoy some.

The Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro is an update to the super popular V3 Pro. I used the V3 ever since release so I’m quite familiar with the shape and its various pros and cons. The new V4 is mainly helping to address and fix those complaints all while packing even more powerful hardware! Here is everything that was updated in the V4 compared to the V3 - - 56g weight ( -7g) - Gen 4 optical switches - Optical scroll wheel encoder - Side buttons - Bigger skates - New sensor (45K DPI) - 8000Hz Polling rate as standard - More software features More details and specifics - Design and weight: This is an ergonomic right-hand only mouse coming in at a very lightweight 56g. The shape is identical to the V3 Pro, but obviously differs a lot if you’re coming from the V2 or any other older classic DeathAdder. I personally much prefer the newer shape as it's much better for claw-grip. The coating now has a smooth-touch all around and is generally much more pleasant to the touch compared to the old coating which was a bit chalky. Performance: A shining point for Razer gaming mice is the performance you get as they are pretty much the first in the game to feature new optical sensors. The V4 Pro is packing a 45K DPI sensor which has a max IPS of 900 and 85G of acceleration. Pair all that with an 8000Hz polling rate and you get the most responsive gaming mouse on the market. I personally only use 2K polling as it's good enough for me and also saves on battery life. Latency all around felt really on point even with multiple wireless devices around me. This is truly an e-Sports ready mouse that I have no doubt many pros will use. Buttons: Two very important upgrades over the V3 come with the addition of gen-4 optical main switches and even more importantly an optical scroll wheel encoder. For the main switches they now feel a lot more crispy with a lot less pre-travel and less overall sponginess on the rebound. In terms of sound they also have a different signature that almost sounds mechanical so overall I’m super happy with them. For the scroll wheel the huge upgrade is that it's now optical just like the main switches! That means you will no longer have to worry about its reliability and any dust causing false inputs. Lastly for the side buttons they are now more spaced out and are slightly smaller which means they are easier to differentiate if you use them a lot in-game. Skates: The skates are now much bigger and out the box have a much nicer glide that is no longer rough. I always had to swap out the stock feet on my V3 as on most mousepads the experience was not that good. The V4 skates are on point though and everything felt great! (tested on cloth pads) Battery life: This will depend on what polling rate you’re using but expect about ~120 hours in normal operation. It’s also very good for standby. Software: You will want to use the new Synapse 4 which is overall much better laid out and less buggy compared to the old 3. There’s also some cool new software features like dynamic sensitivity and sensor rotation. - Dynamic sensitivity: This basically mimics mouse acceleration but is much more customizable so you can set exactly when you want your sensitivity to speed up. Now I usually play FPS games and the popular sentiment is that mouse accel is a big “no”. I would still experiment with this feature and see if you like it. For me it makes clearing angles in games much easier and effortless while still maintaining control for those fine movements. - Sensor rotation: I personally didn’t find much use for this but it's handy if you ever found the combination of the mouse and your grip style to cause the cursor to not go as straight as you wanted, so this can basically correct that. Build quality/QC: My unit is built very well. No creaking or rattles. While it may not seem like a big upgrade at first glance I can highly recommend the Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro - it should be a great mouse for years to come! As someone who is on computers daily for work and leisure, I use quite a few mice because I use various computers. I have heard a lot of good things about the Razer DeathAdder line and this newest addition lives up to the hype. It is incredibly ergonomic, ultra-light, and highly customizable. Along with the mouse, the package comes with a wireless dongle, a 6ft USB-A to USB-C cable, mouse grip tape, and a guidebook. The mouse is made of smooth plastic with a rubbery grip scrolling wheel. I am so glad Razer included grip tape because I feel like I need the tactile textured grip. They can be easily repositioned upon initial installation but stay firmly on afterwards. Additionally, they help me keep a stable grip plus they have a soft, appealing rubbery feel to them. I used four of the five grip tapes because I did not know where the last one was supposed to go and the mouse seems perfectly fine without it. The mouse includes the two main buttons, the scrolling wheel that can also pressed like a button, two left-side buttons, and a power button underneath that doubles as a DPI stage cycle button. The buttons are clicky with a quick response. The ergonomic design of this mouse is well thought out because when I look at the shape my hand makes while using a different almost-flat mouse, it is the exact same shape Razer designed for the DeathAdder V4 Pro, except it’s just floating in the air. Thus, when I use this mouse, it does not cause tension or agitate my carpal-tunnel prone wrist. This mouse can be used either wired or wireless with the HyperSpeed Gen-2 dongle. The dongle includes 3 LED indicator lights, which indicate connection status, battery level, and polling rate by changing in color. I like that Razer included this because I am able to easily note if the polling rate is in the wrong setting and go back and switch it before I’m already in a game, as well as knowing when to charge the mouse so it does not die midgame. The Razer Synapse 4 is a great software and allows for almost every function of the mouse to be customized. Some of the many things that can be customized are sensitivity, rotation, DPI, polling rate, LOD, and button mapping. I tend to use my mouse slightly rotated to the left, so having the ability to calibrate my pointer to that is life changing. I am so used to compensating for this for so long though, that I have yet to adjust to the calibration. The Razer Synapse has the option to automatically adjust polling rates based on game by using custom-made presets, plus it has the option to switch it up whenever the computer goes on full-screen game mode. I like this because my family uses this computer for non-game purposes as well and I do not need a 1000+ polling rate during such usage, but I forget to change it back more often than not. The DPI is true to number; I tested it thoroughly. I have toggled through it during gameplay as well. It is a bit tricky to switch it midgame because it’s at the bottom, but I still love that I can change it at all using the mouse because I did not have this option with my last gaming mouse. The sensor is fantastic, tracking exceptionally well with the mouse hovering above the surface. Personally, I prefer a low LOD but those who prefer it high should place this mouse on their consideration list. Overall, the DeathAdder V4 Pro is a great way to maximize a gaming setup. It is almost completely customizable, has astronomical polling rates, can be used wire or wireless, is perfect for easing hand fatigue during long hours of usage, and so much more. I am kind of frustrated with my other mice at this moment, this one has spoiled me and I’m not sure how to deal with it because I do not need a gaming mouse for my other computers.

While it looks just about identical to the V3, so many improvements have been made under the hood to put this squarely at/near the top of the list in both specs and thoughtful design. __ Design Improvements __ It’s been a while since I had an ergo mouse - most have been ambidextrous, and returning to this fairly large, comfortable right-handed mouse, I can feel what I’ve been missing. Its soft touch finish feels good, not rubbery or likely to degrade over time, but silky and just grippy enough. Somehow Razer squeezed a larger battery into this model, giving it an incredible 150 hours on a charge, yet clocking in at a lighter weight than the last model. Another nice surprise is its new dongle/emitter that includes 3 status lights that provide a quick glance at remaining battery or connection quality - and can be customized via Razer’s Synapse software. The improved click wheel is great, with an updated texture that should prevent slipping to either side better than the last model. All buttons feel solid, though the new optical sensors in the primary left and right buttons do emit a fairly loud, crisp and pingy sound that may annoy others in a quiet room. That’s probably my least favorite aspect to these, but it’s a small price to pay for literally everything inside being improved, above and beyond. __ Performance __ This may very well be the most advanced mouse I’ve ever seen or used. It checks all the boxes, with incredible low-latency, a slew of new accuracy features that are all customizable, extended battery life, and a solid chassis. First latency and precision: with the ability to go all the way up to 8000hz polling rate and 45k DPI, it’s likely well more speed and precision than you could ever want. These settings can be applied individually by title, allowing you to fine tune how your mouse responds in each game. Next, Lift-off sensitivity adjustments let you control how your mouse behaves when lifting and dropping back to a surface, with a new feature called ‘Asymmetric Cut-off’ that allows Razer to adapt to various surfaces while keep your preferred feel consistent. Lastly, Rotation Calibration compensates your swipe angle to create better horizontal movement precision without having to change your natural, preferred hand movements. Razer’s online tool will help you choose the best angle adjustment for you after a short 5 sec test. __ Summary __ All of these technologies, performance upgrades, and easy settings create a truly powerful mouse that could actually improve how you play. The level of speed and precision is amazing and it’s clear that Razer learned from their past products to improve the design and feel of this mouse in incredible ways. The price is a bit higher now, but you get a lot for it. Many people may not need a mouse this advanced and quite possibly wouldn’t be able to tell the difference with some of the other options out there, but for those who play at high speeds regularly and want amazing performance, this is for them.

The Razer Deathadder is a very fitting name as this mouse definitely brings your gaming to the next level. With multiple settings and customizations to chose from all via the Synapse app, you are almost guaranteed a cut above the rest. So out of the box you get your mouse, USB cable and domed wireless dongle. The first thing i noticed was the weight of the mouse. This mouse is very light weight which i am not a personal fan of. Light weight mice for me always tend to cause tracking issues as my heavy hands sometimes cause the mouse to lift up. Luckily the connection between the mouse and wireless dongle is insanely precise and accurate. Full charge on the mouse took about 30 mins and so far has yielded me about 40 hours, give or take, of run time. The mouse does work in wireless or wired mode as well. Some things to note, no this has no rgb lighting and yes the buttons can be mapped. One thing i have to gripe about with this mouse is the positioning of the dpi button. It is placed underneath the mouse next to its optical sensor. I prefer having it up top near the scroll wheel as i am constantly switching between settings on the fly while gaming. Now the wireless dongle has really cool noteworthy things that need to be mentioned. First and foremost its wireless signal is a absolute power house. I say this simply because i like to test wireless components by placing their base next to my monster of a wifi router that has 8 big antennas coming out of it. The weaker components always drop out while the mediocre ones will have random hiccups here and there. The dongle has three lights that can be customized for different settings but the factory settings it comes with are as follows. The first light represents your connection status, the second light battery life and the third light your current polling rate. Never once did i experience any lag or drop outs and my status light never changed off the green color. While on the subject this unit comes with a 8000hz polling rate which is insanely good at picking up current position and tracking. This makes FPS games or games like Fortnite help give you a more competitive edge. One thing to take note of is the load the polling rate can potentially have on your PC. I run a 12th gen intel I-9 and changing the polling rate from the standard 1000hz to 8000hz took my load from 3% up to 12%. Not a note worthy thing for me to be concerned about but just something to note in case your PC is not up to par. Over all this is an insanely good mouse to have if you are big in to games such as COD or Counterstrike. If your looking to get every ounce of an advantage regardless of the increase amount then this is a must have. If your more of a casual gamer and play more MMO or Sandbox games then i'd advise you to go a different route. There is really nothing bad to complain about except the DPI button position. But that's more of a personal preference than anything

The Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro Gaming Mouse is the ultimate wireless gaming mouse. You have so much control of nearly every aspect of the mouse's performance. The DeathAdder V4 is very light weight, weighing in a only 57 grams. It's also very ergonomic and all the buttons are in the perfect location for my big hand. The Razer Synapse V4 software unlocks tons of options for the DeathAdder V4, and is easy to navigate. You can also setup macros and settings for specific games. You can set individual polling rates for games, from 125 - 8000Hz. I have mine set normally to 1000Hz when doing normal everyday stuff, and it jumps to 8000Hz when getting into FPS games like Call of Duty or other games like that. Sensitivity Matcher allows you to mimic the sensitivity of a different mouse. Let's say your previous mouse was setup perfectly for sensitivity, and you want the DeathAdder V4 to match that performance, you can calibrate it through the Synapse V4 software to be identical. You can also customize the mouse lift off points and how it reacts with the Mouse Surface Calibration option for more precision. I played around with the setting a little bit, but found the default options work of great for me. You also get access to Dynamic Sensitivity, which to me is an enhanced version of Windows "Enhance Pointer Precision". You get three preset options and a custom option for you to fine tune your preference. I found it to be useful in the small area I have next to my keyboard. It allows me to make bigger moves in a smaller space, and still have precision when you need it most. The wireless dongle has a very unique feature. It has three LED lights that can be customized to give you at a glance access to your mouse settings and battery life. I really like this feature, because I don't have to guess what DPI setting, how much battery, or what polling rate I'm at while gaming. Battery life is phenomenal at 150 hours with the recent firmware update. The only thing that would make this mouse any better in my opinion would little bit of RGB.

I’ve been using the Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro for about a week, and I must say it’s been one of the best mouse experiences I’ve ever had. I’m moving to the mouse from the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro, which is heavier and chunkier. Even though the Basilisk is better suited for hybrid gaming situations due to its thumb rest, I’ve found the DeathAdder to be a wonderful work companion as well as a gaming mouse. The first thing I noticed was how lightweight it is. It’s only half of what the Basilisk is, and it’s classified as ‘ultralight’ by Razer. It’s a little different than what I’m used to in terms of connection. The mouse comes with a Razer Hyperspeed Wireless dongle, which is the bridge between the mouse and the host computer. Once you plug that into your computer and power on the mouse, the DeathAdder is connected. There is no hassle with Bluetooth or a 2.4GHz USB dongle. It just works. I haven’t had any connection issues and have found the responsiveness of the mouse remarkable. The mouse is the perfect size and travels well. Since either a wired connection or the dongle are the only two ways to connect it, you might be stuck with hauling a cable around for remote work. I think the only thing I’m not a huge fan of is that the DPI button is on the bottom of the mouse. While that keeps you from accidentally pressing it, it’s much harder to change mouse settings on the way. As far as battery life goes, it seems to hold up to its specs. Since I’ve only had the mouse for a short time, I don’t know that I’ve met the 90-hour threshold yet, but I haven’t had to charge it yet. I really love the simplicity and smoothness of this mouse. The design is ideal for someone who wants high performance in a pro-level device. With its lightweight design, high performance, and long battery life, this gaming mouse is a great choice for both casual and serious gamers. The Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro is one of the most feature rich and customizable mice I’ve ever had the pleasure of gaming with. The shear amount of tweaking you can do with this thing is out of this world. The polling rate is extremely responsive. The clicks are extremely satisfying. Movement feels fantastic during faster paced games. Adjusting sensitivity on the fly is easy with dynamic sensitivity, and the sensitivity matcher ensures my settings remain consistent across different games and surfaces. These are settings I never even knew I wanted, let alone have ever had the luxury of leveraging. I love the ability to tune the DPI in single step increments and dial in the perfect sensitivity for whatever game I am playing. Mouse rotation is another feature I did not know I needed. It helps keep my aim steady, even when my grip changes. The Asymmetric Cut off settings are new technology for me. Being able to calibrate both lift off and landing distances with so many levels of precision is limitless when it comes to getting the perfect feel. It's not like I love a heavy mouse, but the V4 is ridiculously light. It might be one of the lightest I’ve used. It was almost shocking at first. It took a few hours to get used to, but it became very comfortable and reactive to the touch. Overall, the V4 Pro is for gamers all day. If you want customization and top notch hardware in a mouse, look no further.

I’ve been a PC gamer for a long time. I still remember buying the original Razer Boomslang when it first launched. When I had the chance to try the new DeathAdder V4 Pro, I jumped at it, and I don’t regret it one bit. This mouse is incredibly lightweight. It was almost jarring to pick up because it felt like I was holding nothing at all. That’s exactly what I want to help prevent fatigue. Let’s face it, I don’t just game. I’m on a PC all day, and I’m also getting older, with what I’m pretty sure is carpal tunnel starting to creep into my wrists. The design is fantastic for just about anyone. I’m a hybrid claw grip gamer, and I found it surprisingly comfortable to hold that way too. The two side buttons are pretty basic, but they feel good to click, just like the left and right buttons. They’re loud and tactile, as is the scroll wheel. This isn’t a quiet mouse, but that’s not what we want, right? We’re here to frag, not whisper. The USB dongle setup is a bit different. It’s a cable attached to a small pod you place on your desk or keyboard tray. I had no trouble positioning it. The pod includes three lights to indicate battery level, connection quality, and DPI settings. You might wonder why the pod has all the lights. It’s because the DeathAdder itself has nothing extra to weigh it down. There are no LEDs, no special buttons, and no added features. It’s a clean, minimal design that focuses on performance. You can use Razer’s software to tweak settings like lift-off distance, DPI, and more. I left everything at default, and it worked great with my mouse pad and play style. I’m a pretty casual gamer these days, but I tested it with Doom: The Dark Ages and Counter-Strike. I wasn’t particularly good at either, but that’s on me, not the DeathAdder. Overall, this might be the best mouse I’ve ever used. I’ve used a lot of them over the years. The wireless connection is snappy. The Razer software is finally stable, reliable, and light on resources. The mouse just feels fantastic in hand. My only complaint is the dongle pod. It’s fine at a desk, but awkward to use with a laptop on a lap desk or while traveling. A standard USB dongle would have been a smart inclusion for flexibility. For a mouse of this caliber, that’s a surprising oversight. Even so, this is one of the best mice I’ve used in over 30 years. I have to knock off a star for the lack of portability, but everything else is excellent

I have a deathadder v3 pro and have loved it. In some ways this is an even better mouse and in some ways it’s not as good. I think it really depends on what you need. As far as gaming, it has some really good features like the variable DPI in games that change depending on how you move your mouse. For me, this probably isn’t a feature that is amazing as I’m not a top gamer and my hand isn’t the steadiest so a few times it threw me off. The ability to adjust the DPI with the button on the bottom with adjustable presets of the app is far more useful to me as I can have different DPI settings depending on the monitor I happen to be using or not using. I like that you can also switch the polling rate depending on if you are in a game or not. In fact, the app has customization options that are far superior than my gaming ability can truly use. But the difference between the few settings I have played around with to customize for myself have increased my performance. I don’t love the size of the dongle; it really seems to be designed for a desktop instead of a laptop. This and the inability to multipair the dongle with a compatible Razer keyboard takes this from something that is an on-the-go mouse to one that is pretty much exclusive to the desktop, but you don’t want a cord. There is nothing wrong with this and now I’ll have the v4 on the desktop and the v3 in my bag. Lastly I don’t love that there isn’t a separate power switch, If my finger twitches when I am trying to turn it off to put it in my bag I’ll have to cycle through the DPI settings next time I turn it on. But since this is more of a desktop wireless mouse the need to turn it off is much less a thing (the battery lasts quite a long time) and as a back up you can always just plug in the mouse to the keyboard and use it as a wired device. Overall, I love how light the mouse is, it’s weird that I thought the old v3 was light and now it feels heavy when I directly compare them. The scroll wheel is noticeably better on the new v4 as well which I really appreciate. I love the customizability and the clean simple look of the mouse.
