Love the fact that I can place these cameras anywhere in house I have them set on medium setting so they capture only when there is a human presence and the record only for a few seconds, which saves battery life

Having a security camera is peace of mind and it helps you feel secure because of its ability to view our front and back of the house. The notification that we get, ability to go back and review if needed are some of the features that give us relaxation to be away from home to do our job and have fun with friends and family. It was a great idea to have BestBuy as an option when we cannot rely on other sources to their best and it comes with safety and satisfaction when something goes wrong.

The cameras do ok I guess. Not as clear as I thought they would be, especially at night. It’s a hit or a miss picking up motion. I have literally stood in front of it and waved my arms and danced around and it never picked me up until I was almost out of the frame. I’ve tried every setting and it’s still a hit or a miss. They are better than nothing and I got them at a good price so I’m keeping them.

      Hi RuthK.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand how important it is for your Ring Outdoor Cam (Formerly known as the Ring Stick Up Cam) to function consistently and reliably, so you are alerted to any wanted or unwanted activity in or around your home. The features and technology provided by the Ring Outdoor Cam are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We are eager to address the issue you raised in your review and provide you with a resolution today.

It sounds like your Ring Outdoor Cam is not performing as expected. We would love the opportunity to share with you some troubleshooting steps that you can try to get your Ring Outdoor Cam functioning as intended. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This camera uses adjustable motion detection and runs on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is missing some motions, please set the motion frequency to "Frequently."

Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling the "Smart Alerts" feature for people only in your Ring app. To enable "Smart Alerts," please follow these steps:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
      Tap "Devices."
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
      Tap "Motion Settings."
      Tap "Smart Alerts."
      Tap "Enable Feature."
      Tap "Continue."
Select the notification options that you want for "Person" and "Other Motion."
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings, tap "Done.

In the Ring app, you have the option to turn Color Night Vision on or off for select Ring Doorbells and Cameras. Color Night Vision adds color to video in low light for improved clarity and motion detection.

To turn the "Color Night Vision" on or off, follow these instructions:
      Open the Ring app.
      Tap the "Menu" (☰).
      Tap "Devices."
Select the device you want to adjust.
      Tap "Device Settings."
      Tap "Video Settings."
Toggle "Color Night Vision" on or off.

We invite you to reach out to our Community if any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Stick Up Cam. The Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another by sharing their feedback and experiences with each other.

      Sincerely,
      Miyuki from Ring. Ring

I ordered wireless because I live in an apartment. These are great because there is no damage to the apartment or building. I get four stars because I’m still learning how to use all of the settings and functions. Will date my review at a later date.

Bought my ring cameras two months ago everything‘s working fine until one camera keeps saying cannot connect to the Internet called during customer. Service ran through a bunch of different little things to try to get it to work. Does not work still does not work and all Ring said was it’s my Internet. I have six ring cameras. Everything is working except one so how can it be my Internetbe very cautious. I would not buy these. They do not care about customers. They just care about the monry

      Hi UncleEek.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand how important it is for your Ring Outdoor Cam to function consistently and reliably, so you are alerted to any wanted or unwanted activity in or around your home. Having a solid connection ensures you do not miss any activity around your home. We are here today to provide you with education to assist you in finding the best solution for your home’s environment.

It sounds like you experienced some connection issues with the device. Sometimes your router settings can cause a Ring device to fail setup. Your device’s light pattern and corresponding in-app instructions will indicate the reason for the failed setup. If you need to make adjustments to your network and are unfamiliar with how to make changes, consult your internet service provider or network equipment manufacturer for assistance.

When the firewall settings on your router are too strict, it can cause Ring devices to fail setup. If your router has variable firewall settings, try to change the setting from “High” to “Medium” or from “Medium” to “Low.”
      Remove special characters from your wifi network name (e.g. apostrophes, spaces, !, @, #, $, %, &).
Try to connect the Ring device to a guest network or other wifi network.
If your Ring device is far away from your router, you might need to use a wifi extender, such as the Ring Chime Pro, to assist with signal strength.
Unplug all non-Ring devices connected to your router via Ethernet cables. Do NOT unplug the Ethernet cable that connects your router to the modem or wall outlet for internet service.
Check your router security protocol setting. WPA2 is recommended for Ring devices. WPA2 balances strong encryption with broad compatibility. Currently, Ring devices are not compatible with WPA3.
Setup can be blocked if your router is using IPv6. Disable IPv6 and use IPv4 or IPv4v6 instead.

If your networking equipment hasn’t been power cycled in a while, try unplugging it for 30 seconds and plugging it back in. Wireless networks utilize different channels for communication. In the United States, the 2.4 GHz band uses channels 1-11 and the 5 GHz band uses channels 36-165. In some cases, setting up your Ring device(s) can fail due to wireless interference or congestion.

If you still have the Ring Outdoor Cam in your possession, we invite you to reach out to our community. Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another and share their personal feedback and experiences with Ring. We look forward to hearing from you. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance!

      Thank you,
      Amilia from Ring. Ring

I’ve been really impressed with the Ring Stick Up Cams. This 2-pack was perfect for covering both my front and back yard. The wire-free design made installation super easy — no drilling or complicated wiring. Just mount them and connect via the app. The 1080p video quality is clear day and night, and the motion detection is responsive without being too sensitive. I especially like that these can be used indoors or outdoors, giving me flexibility to move them around if needed. The Ring app makes it easy to check live view, get motion alerts, and even talk through the camera with the two-way audio. Battery life is solid, and recharging is quick and painless. Highly recommend for anyone looking to boost home security with a reliable and user-friendly system!

I bought the 2-pack to cover both my laundry room and backyard, and they work exactly as I hoped. I use one indoors to quickly check how much time is left on the washer and dryer without going in and out — super convenient. The second is outside monitoring my backyard through Ring. Both cameras are easy to set up, the video quality is clear, and battery life is solid. I like that they’re wire-free and can be placed almost anywhere. Great value and flexibility. Highly recommend for both indoor and outdoor use.

Ring cameras are truly remarkable! They’re so easy to install, set up and you can view live! We have them all over our house! Inside and out. We can keep an eye on our teenagers when we are away and when they ignore my call or text, I just yell at them through the camera LOL

The quality is good. The blue light that comes on when it starts recording is annoying, but not a deal breaker. It doesn’t seem to have a very far sensor as far as when it starts detecting motion, but that could just be the angle I have it at. Not sure. Definitely have extra batteries or keep it plugged in if you need it on all the time.
