Customers highly value the camera's picture quality and ease of use, with many praising its simple installation. However, some users express concerns regarding battery life and motion detection reliability. The availability of a solar panel is also a plus for many. While some appreciate the wireless functionality and affordable price, others find the night vision and cloud storage options lacking.

We do not have easy access to see who is at our front door and our peephole is an old and blurred. After an occasion where a stranger came up to our front door and made us feel uneasy, we decided to give the Ring-Stick Up camera a try.
We were easily able to install it above our front door and placed it at an angle so we can see our car parked on the street. All you need to do is download the Ring app to your phone and connect it to your WiFi. You can set it up based on your preferences and it will alert you if someone approaches the location of your Stick Up camera (up to 30 feet). Your phone will ring and you have an option to watch the video live, as well as an option to speak to the person approaching your door. As an example; while I was at work a UPS driver was dropping off a package. It alerted me and I was able to ask him to leave it in a spot where the package will be hidden. Your videos will stay on the Cloud service free for 30 days. After that, you have to pay for the Cloud service. However, its a pretty reasonable fee ($3 a month or $30 for the year).

This was super easy to set up and use with both my MAC and my iphone. The only thing I can't seem to correct is the way the camera perceives every tiny wind-induced movement as activity. I have to turn the audio on my phone off when at work because on a windy day it goes off every few minutes. Also, you HAVE to purchase the cloud account or the thing is useless after 30 days. Happily it isn't too expensive but I would have liked to have this explained to me up front.

It is a little expensive however for what it does it is a great Unit! Now there are some bugs like the unit some times dosent sence things only about <5% of time or over triggers with bugs flying close to the camera and sensors and then if you have it set overly sensitive the battery runs out quick. Also there is no live on demand feed, even if you have a way to keep it plugged in or purchase their solar panel. Also the other big issue is the cloud recording, its great however , buyer beware , it is$30/ year now that may not seem like much BUT if you have the door bell and this camera it is still $30 / year EACH! NO Discount!! I feel to stay competitive then need to offer a discount for multiple devices or offer a local storage option to forgot the yearly fee.

Installation is very easy. Very important to fully charge before installation and keep in mind that location must be easy to get to for taking it down to charge with supplied usb charge cord. If you can locate to keep plugged in that is best yet or with solar panel. Everything is in the box, including the tools/wire you need. Good picture but like Ring doorbell, motion detection needs to be refined. But still very good, glad I bought it.

So we had been having some weird and disconcerting activity in the front of our house, we are the last house on a dead end street with only one house next to us, no one across from us but a small hill with a fence and at the time the media was hammering the "Porch Pirate" story with things being stolen from porches. We had some landscaping pieces stolen and we do receive a lot of packages delivered on any given week. I ordered this on line for next day pick up. I ordered two stick up cameras and the Video Doorbell Pro.
Before going in I read some negative reviews on BestBuy.com, and suddenly I was wondering if I had made a bad impulsive purchase. None of the "complaints" proved to be true! Installation was incredibly easy. The video and audio are impressive in all levels of lighting. The software interface is easy and efficient to navigate and use. After having them up for a couple of weeks I moved the cameras just a touch to get between coverage. They are incredibly easy to put up.
One of the complaints was battery capacity length of time holding a charge. My experience was that a full charge lasted about a month. And like any new toy I played with them a lot doing remote viewing etc.
In all fairness I now have these cameras on the solar panel as I received them as a Christmas gift from my children. The battery stays fully charged! As before, installation was a snap and simple. I would have given them a five star review as well but I had received them as a gift. The construction on all of these Ring products seem to be solid and robust.

Well first off so easy to set up and install. The price for what you get is worth it. Paid 199 and the 720p quality is very good. Has a bit of issues with picking up movement, but working with Ring support which by the way are very good. They are so nice and helpfull. As with any electronic device, you need to learn it and the best way to work with it. Not everyone's home, yard and street view are the same. I could go on and on about the device, ring support and the cool online/phone apps stuff but I will let you all find that out yourself. Get the Ring. You will a few challenges and give it a 4 out 5 but will be glad you got it in the long run.

I've been using it for a month and it works really well. Set up was easy once I understood that you need to provide credit card for 30-day free trial of cloud service (which is very cheap at $30 per year). Battery won't last 6 months -- not even close. Expect 45-60 days. However if you pair it with the optional solar panel ($50) it stays fully charged. I highly recommend getting the solar panel. That's money well spent vs the annoyance of recharging it. It doesn't record 24/7 -- just 30 secs of video when motion sensor triggers. If you want full 24/7 surveillance go with Nest ($100/yr) or D-Link (which can configured to record wirelessly to hard drive in your house if you get D-Link hub). They do not run on a battery so if you're trying to put this somewhere remote (eg tree) then Ring.com is your better option. Image quality is good. I have 3 Ring cameras + Ring Doorbell and the system works pretty well. Sometimes Ring Doorbell doesn't catch people that dart in front quickly (eg. dropping off package), but the other cameras catch the activity. I put two cameras in trees and faced them back toward entry points which I couldn't do with the Nest or D-Link cameras because I wouldn't be able to get power to the spot.
If you start adding a lot of cameras, the cloud service price advantage of Ring.com starts to add up.

My problem is that on solar power one sometimes does NOT charge. I have to take the camera down, plug it into power and charge it up, then place it back up in its place about twice a year. It’s a pain because it’s up high out of reach.

The camera is easy to install yourself, working off your wifi. The app is good and the customer service is very good. There is a delay in the upload of your picture I assume due to the varying upload speeds of Internet plans. The quality of the picture is very good. This unit allows you to see live pictures and also alert you to motion in the area. I gave it 4 stars for the delay in uploading otherwise this is a very good product that allows many varying uses around your home. I have 5 units covering my office as well as my lake house.

I bought this outdoor camera for use indoors to keep an eye on my puppy while I am away. The camera has great quality and is easy to install. I do not use it, but the available solar panel is a great touch. Only issue is that the sound is not very loud when talking theough it. I expect using it outdoors would be even worse with wind and other environmental noise. Overall a great addition to my Ring doorbell. Will buy another one or two for arou d the house.

I have the ring doorbell which I like so figured I would try the stick up cam. It is a solid product like the doorbell. Do not plan to get anywhere close to 6-12 months of battery if you will be covering a high traffic area. I assumed this would be the deal going in so not disappointed in it - plan to hard wire anyway. I am still hoping that RING will come out with a cloud recording discount for additional devices. I would recommend the RING StickUp Cam.

Hi FunTech,
I'm sorry to hear about your poor experience thus far but I'd like to connect with you to address/resolve these issues and improve your Ring experience. Battery life is contingent on usage so the volume of alerts you receive per day will affect it but we can provide optimal settings to conserve your battery. Would you reach me today at [email protected] so that I can follow up on your CS experience? I'd appreciate your time and this second opportunity!

It works great and is an added plus to home security. I purchased this along with the solar add on..so no batteries needed. The solar panel works great. The camera does take a few seconds to come on and does not record from the second a person walks up, but it does work. As a reminder you will need to purchase $30 annually to see the recordings. If I could make one change, I would want it to start recording a bit faster than it does.

We bought a Ring doorbell awhile back and have come to depend upon it for security and peace of mind. When it became time to add cameras to our place, seeing this camera, we looked no further. We added the solar panel and have not looked back. This camera covers our back yard and allows us to see the dogs when they are back there. We have one more yard that needs coverage, and when ready, Ring will be our pick.

Best investment I’ve ever made for my home! The Ring camera Notifies me of any activity on my property and then allows me to see for myself who or what is near right on my phone. It also allows me to interact with whomever is near each camera through the two-way microphone. Outstanding piece of monitoring equipment at a very affordable price!

Definitely have a safer feeling, especially when I am traveling. Clarity is great and the ability to hear/talk to anyone near the cam is fantastic. Only negative for me is I have it mounted fairly high which takes away from the distance in which motion trips the cam to record.

Market leader in consumer surveillance cameras. I have purchased and installed two of these units. Battery life can be degradated depending on the sensitivity level. However Ring has just released a solar panel that can be added to these so that you don't have the charge every couple of months. Know that Ring does charge $3/mo per device for storage. Not a dealbreaker, but can certainly add up.

The Ring Stick up camera was incredibly easy to install and add on to my existing Ring app. Everything needed to mount the camera was in the box! I used the live view feature when placing it, which runs the battery down a little faster, but the quick release on the mount makes it easy to take the camera down to recharge.

Started right up with decent detection and ok video. Not the fastest response to motion but ok. Had problems with unit after recharging battery. Lost detection. Ring helped by reinstalling software update. Hoping that helps. Battery needs recharging less than month. $30/yr to save video for replay

My family bought this mainly as a way to fee more secure about who was coming to our door. We really like that you can adjust the notification settings and record to the cloud. The picture quality is great. Being able to talk and listen as well is really handy. It even caught the cat on it as she escaped out the front door! It's great when my niece and her friends are home alone because they can see who is at the front door without having to actually look out the window or the peephole on the door, and they can use the talk/listen function. It was easy to install and set up on all of our mobile devices and computers.
