This security camera is perfect for videoing people on my property. I don’t have to worry as much about my property now. It records everything/person that comes under my carport.

Image isn’t the most greatest or better than the last model stick up cam. And had to get an extender as the range from the WiFi was now not strong enough and kept disconnecting whereas the old one had no issues for the price I’d hope it to be better.

      Hi OscarO.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

We understand the importance of your device working consistently and reliably. The features and technology provided by the Ring Stick Up Cam Pro are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We would love the opportunity to work with you and ensure your device is working as intended.

It sounds like your device is not performing as expected. The Ring Stick Up Cam Pro uses advanced features like 3D Motion Detection, 1080p HD video, HDR, and Bird's Eye Zones. If you notice poor video quality or your device continuously falls offline, it could be due to a poor wifi signal. We recommend testing your wifi signal using the following steps:

Turn off your mobile phone’s cellular data and connect to the same wifi network as your Ring device.
      Open the Ring app.
      Tap the menu (☰).
      Tap Devices.
      Select your device.
      Tap Device Health.
Under Tools, tap Test Your Wifi.
Tap Start to run a test that will measure your upload and download speeds.
Both upload and download speeds should be at least 1 Mbps or greater, but 2 Mbps or above is ideal.
Check the numbers on your wifi speed test. If either your upload or download speed is below 1 Mbps, then you might consider replacing your router (especially if it's older than five years). Contact your internet service provider to learn more about getting newer equipment and faster speeds.

This Ring Stick-Up Pro Battery Cam Is Great!

I received the Ring Cam Pro and as I have several of them in use around my home it was a pretty easy setup for me, except I only have wired versions and since this one is battery a little different. It can be used indoors or outdoors (indoors here), has 3D motion detection, HDR video and color night vision. First thing I did was remove the battery and charged it overnight. There is no charger included but they do give you the micro USB to USB-A cord. I simply used one of my Apple 9W chargers and when I got up the next morning it was ready. There is an orange and green light on the battery so when it's solid green you're good to go. Placed it in the cam and went on my phone to the Ring App and set it up. The instructions are very easy to understand and they walk you through everything step by step. You will need your Wi-Fi password so have that handy right away. I placed it in my living room as that was one room no cam was located in. You have the option to name the cam what you wish. I have a couple cats that like to create trouble with my curtains and cords so this setup will help me see what's going on plus who the biggest mischief maker is. I set the cam zones to cover the area I wanted and the settings for the motion detection. You can choose how much you want to be notified in the App. The cam is much larger in size than my other wired indoor versions but it really is sturdy and nicely built. The pictures/videos turn out amazing and clear although at night mine are black and white. If I put a light on it goes back to color but I can still see everything clearly no matter what color is showing. Ring does offer extra batteries for sale and also a double battery charger if you want to be sure your cam is always going to function. One thing to note is I do subscribe to their program so I have a record of the videos and it's worth every cent. I have nothing negative to say about this new Ring Stick Up Cam Pro. It does what it's supposed to and very well. I love using the App on my phone as I'm always in touch with what's happening in the various places I have them placed no matter where I am. You can also talk and hear through it if showing a LIVE video. I definitely recommend the purchase if you need a battery powered cam that can be set virtually anywhere as long as you're close to Wi-Fi. Great job on this Ring Cam Pro AMAZON!

The Ring Stick Up Cam Pro is a welcome addition to the home security landscape, presenting a fusion of design sophistication with advanced technological features. So far, I love this new camera! With Full HD (1080p) video resolution, it ensures clarity in capturing details which can be crucial in security footage. Night vision is another highlight; unlike the standard grayscale imagery in most cameras, this camera offers Color Night Vision, ensuring vivid and clear footage even in low-light conditions. Plus, no wires for this version, you can place it anywhere around your house! One of the standout features of the Stick Up Cam Pro is its versatility in terms of placement. It's designed for both indoor and outdoor use, proving its resilience against various weather conditions, with an impressive operating temperature range from -5°F to 120°F. This means the camera can withstand cold winters and hot summers without compromising its performance. The mount system is pretty clever and allows for the mount to be attached to the camera’s base or side depending on where the camera is going, if you want to mount it at all, I just use the mount as a base and place the camera down on it. The camera can also be mounted upside down and the video playback will be right-side-up when viewing. Powering the camera is hassle-free, as it's battery-powered with a rechargeable feature, ensuring continuous surveillance without frequent battery replacements. Moreover, with a voltage of 3.6 volts, it promises longevity on a single charge. For those who have invested in smart homes, the compatibility with Amazon Alexa is a bonus, enabling voice command functionalities. Connecting the camera is seamless with the Ring mobile app, ensuring that homeowners can access real-time footage from anywhere via compatible devices with iOS 14 and above or Android 9 and above. Video recording gets triggered by motion detection, ensuring no unnecessary footage and saving storage space. While storage is on the cloud, potential users should be aware that the subscription for extended storage features is optional and not included in the initial purchase. The app has many options for the camera including motion zones, settings, device health, smart responses, and many more options. In conclusion, the Ring Stick Up Cam Pro Battery Indoor/Outdoor Security Camera is more than just a camera; it's a comprehensive security solution suitable for various environments and conditions. Whether you're looking to enhance your indoor surveillance or need a reliable outdoor security camera, this product from Ring ticks all the right boxes. The added advantage of 3D Motion Detection, HDR Video, and two-way audio communication only further cements its position as a top choice for homeowners. I love everything about these cameras, and I highly recommend them to any home or apartment owner!

This Ring Stick Up Cam Pro is not my first Ring product. I started with one of their doorbells years ago and I now own a variety of their products that I use at my own home, a vacation rental, and a couple of relatives houses (shared accounts) to monitor things. I have continued to invest in Ring products, because of overall quality, reasonable cloud monitoring/storage plan cost, reduced wiring/wireless options, Alexa integration, and the easy-to-use application. Most of my other Ring cameras are a few years old, despite having the same full HD video (1080p), this camera adds some useful improvements including the pre-roll feature and HDR. I am using my new Ring Stick Up Cam Pro on a ledge overlooking my living room. Pros 1. Solid battery life. With almost every feature enabled and it set to record all motion (vs people only), I am using around 5-7% per day in a fairly high traffic area. I have only been using the camera for about a week so I have not had to recharge yet, but my camera is in an easy to access area, the battery is easy to remove, and it should be ready to go again after charging overnight. 2. Good build quality with a lot of mounting options. 3. Clean design easily blends in, with subtle blue LED that is lit when recording. 4. Wide viewing angle and 1080p full HD video, with HDR and color night vision. HDR really improved the contrast in my living room, eliminating dark shadows and allowing you to see the backyard through the windows, which were washed out by sunlight with it Off. The viewing angle is also impressive compared to a few other cameras I have tried in the same spot in my house - capturing my entire living room, stairs, and allowing sight lines into a few connected rooms. 5. Two-way audio and a warning siren to let you listen in, speak with people through the camera, and warn intruders you can see them. 6. Alexa integration allows you to view cameras, receive notifications, and make basic changes using an Alexa device. 7. Pre-roll starts the recording a few seconds before an event and really to helps capture the trigger that caused the recording to start. This is an issue on some of my older Ring cameras, as a person walking by might step out of frame before the recording begins, leaving you looking at nothing out of the ordinary. 8. The Ring application is fantastic - working well on all of Android and Apple phones. It is easy to enable the camera, view historical events, change settings, and manage multiple Ring devices. You can even set up funny holiday-based notifications and linked triggers (example: one camera might trigger an adjacent one to start recording to capture an event across multiple camera views). Things to Consider 1. Video is not 4k sharp but is clear and usable for monitoring a large room or medium size area outside under a variety of lighting conditions. 2. Color night vison definitely increases the color you can see at night but is influenced by ambient light color (my living room looks gold, like a sepia photo, due to warm lighting) and is basically gray in very low light. 3. Smart Alerts are designed to identify only people and ignore other motion types - this works really well on my older outside Ring Spot cameras and doorbell camera but was unreliable with the Stick Up Cam Pro in my living room - possibly due to the camera angle (mounted well above the floor). 4. Set up was reasonably quick (no wiring), but if you want to change the angle of the base or mount it on a wall/ceiling you will need basic tools/skills. The base also has a few small screws and washers, so if you disassemble it to change the angle or mount the camera - take pictures and pay very close attention for reassembly as the instructions are lacking a bit in this area. 5. After 30 days you need a monthly plan to view recorded video, which adds to the overall cost of ownership, but is a tradeoff for the convenience, security, and integration offered by the "cloud".

The Ring indoor/outdoor cam offers added security and peace of mind rather it be indoors or outdoors. The implemented rechargeable battery also insure a easier installation process as no wires need to be ran. Out of the box you get everything you need to get you started including mounting hardware. If you do plan on mounting it to a wall or ceiling you will need some tools but nothing that should require a handyman's service. The camera comes with a micro usb cable instead of a usb-c which is a little disappointing and you will need to supply your own power block as you only provided with the cable and nothing else. Once you decide where you wish to place the cam you will then need to configure proper orientation by unscrewing it from the pivot and mounting it in the proper position. This is necessary as the app does not give you the option to rotate your orientation. Kind of weird considering my stick up indoor cams offer adjustments through the app, but not a big deal and a easy fix. Full charge took about 3 hours and im not sure if that's due to the battery or power block i was using. So far its been about 4 days and battery power has only dropped about 5% with Ring's suggested settings. You do have the option to run a dedicated power cable or you can always run a solar panel as well to help maintain charge. Audio and voice quality is as good as it comes, sounds such as birds chirping and what my kids were talking about in the background come in crystal clear with no distortion. Through the app you can talk to whoever is on the other side of the cam and voice quality through the phone coming out of the ring cam speakers was clear just as well. As someone who has had several different security cameras with ability to speak out of both ends i have always felt that Ring camera's shine brightly over a wifi connection with no drops or clarity issues. Now i have this set up in the backyard and was a little on the fence about it not having a spotlight to help assist with night time clarity but boy was i worried for nothing. Night clarity is extremely well visible and due to their built in IR lens zero light night time conditions are now a thing of the past. I have no concern with footages captured at night and i will upload some clips to show how night time vision looks. Daytime vision is even more amazing with everything coming in at HD quality. Some really nice features to make mention of are their zone modes and privacy features. You can set up zones to activate your motion this way you don't get too many false alerts from car's passing by or other such things. Privacy mode is a nice feature too as it allows you block certain things from being recorded and triggering motion. This means if you have it installed as a indoor camera you can block out certain bedrooms in order to maintain privacy. This also works for the outside as you block out your neighbors side of the yard in case they get uncomfortable with your cameras. If you have a Ring home alarm system then this cam can easily be paired up and linked to your other hardware and told what to do in the event certain criteria is triggered. All in all this is a great camera to have for those looking for some outside protection all without having to run wires. While the Ring camera's have always been a big hitter in this market it makes finding cons with this cam very difficult. If your in the market for some added peace of mind with minimal installation effort then do yourself a favor and pick up this camera right away.

Ring Stick Up Cam Pro: Your Eyes on Everything!

The Ring Stick Up Cam Pro is the latest addition to the Ring family of smart security cameras, and it brings a lot to the table. With its sleek design, versatile installation options, and a wide range of features, it's a solid choice for those looking to enhance their home security. However, it's not without its shortcomings. Design and Build (4/5 stars)The Ring Stick Up Cam Pro boasts a modern and compact design that blends well with any home decor. It's a significant improvement over its predecessor, with a sleeker profile. The build quality is solid, and it's weather-resistant, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. However, some users might find it slightly bulky, and it can be challenging to hide in more discreet locations. Installation and Setup (5/5 stars)Setting up the Stick Up Cam Pro is a breeze. It can be wired or used wirelessly, depending on your preference. The included tools and instructions make installation straightforward, even for those without technical expertise. The Ring app guides you through the setup process step by step, making it user-friendly for all. Video Quality (4/5 stars)The camera delivers crisp 1080p video quality, providing clear images during the day and night thanks to its infrared night vision. It also features an impressive 150-degree horizontal field of view, ensuring you capture a wide area. However, it's worth noting that some competing cameras offer higher resolution, so there's room for improvement. Motion Detection (3/5 stars)Ring's motion detection is generally reliable, but it can be a bit too sensitive, resulting in frequent false alarms. The customizable motion zones help, but fine-tuning the settings can be a bit time-consuming. The camera's response time when motion is detected is excellent, but there's room for improvement in reducing false positives.Two-Way Audio (4/5 stars)The built-in two-way audio allows you to communicate with visitors or intruders, which is a useful feature for home security. The audio quality is decent, but it could benefit from noise-canceling technology to improve clarity in outdoor environments. Smart Home Integration (5/5 stars)One of the standout features of the Stick Up Cam Pro is its seamless integration with other Ring and third-party smart devices. It works well with Amazon Alexa, making it a valuable addition to a smart home ecosystem. You can easily control the camera with voice commands and receive alerts on your Echo devices. Cloud Storage (3/5 stars)Ring offers a subscription-based cloud storage service for video recordings. While this adds value, it's unfortunate that there's no local storage option, limiting its usability for those who prefer to have full control over their data. Battery Life (3/5 stars)If you opt for the wireless installation, the battery life can vary depending on usage. Ring claims up to six months of battery life, but in reality, it may be less if you receive frequent motion alerts. Recharging the battery can be a bit of a hassle, especially if you've mounted the camera in a hard-to-reach spot. ConclusionThe Ring Stick Up Cam Pro is a solid choice for those looking to bolster their home security with a feature-packed camera. Its sleek design, easy installation, and smart home integration make it a compelling option. However, it does have its shortcomings, such as occasional false alarms, lower video resolution compared to some competitors, and the lack of local storage. Overall, I would rate the Ring Stick Up Cam Pro 4 out of 5 stars. It's a worthwhile addition to your smart home, but there's room for improvement in certain areas to make it a 5-star product.

We currently own a Ring doorbell and 2 floodlight cams that are hard-wired. We wanted this camera for outdoors to monitor our new shed. I also tested it indoors for movement near my office. To charge the battery you will need to remove it from the unit. It was confusing at first as there is a connection on the back of the unit but it didn’t fit the included charging cable. Once I removed the battery it took about 5 hours to charge. The cam can be wall mounted or set on a flat surface. Dual band connection really extended the range as it can connect to my 5GHz mesh network. My previous device would not connect to 5GHz. First, connection is very easy to the Ring app. Setup will walk you through the features and you can choose which options will work best for you. The app will allow you to see any history of the devices connected or you can go “live” and see what is currently happening. You can also share access to the cameras with others or send them a video. You can also add it to a group. When motion is detected on this cam, one of my floodlight will turn on it’s light and motion as well in order to capture more of what is happening. There are several settings: Modes – Home and Away Motion Detection – Person or all motion Notifications – can see event with a tap HDR Video with 1080p HD Privacy zones / full view Motion is captured very quickly. Picture quality is very good to excellent depending upon the lighting. It also works with Alexa units. If you have one with a screen it can show the cams view, otherwise you have 2-way communication. One of my worries is how it will hold up this winter. The temperature range is -4F to 120F. We live in MN where it does get colder than that. It also drains the battery much faster in winter. Only time will tell as removing the battery, charging it and re-installing will be a process. You will need to subscribe to save your cam videos (180 days) and access all of the features. Ring has monthly and annual plans. The Ring security devices are very functional. This Stick Up Cam Pro is easy to use and can be mounted wherever you need coverage.

Ring has been a major player in the world of security cams, and the latest Ring cam, the stick up cam pro wireless, offers a minor jump in advancements. Out of the box you get the cam, a battery, a USB-A to micro USB charging cable, screws and anchors (for installation), and an insert with a QR code that you will need to add the camera to your Ring system. You will need to subscribe to the Ring service in order to use the features, so please keep that in mind. The first thing that is immediately noticeable is the fact that this pro cam is about 20% larger than just about every stick up cam Ring makes. It's hard to miss once you mount it outside. The mounting process is fairly easy; you just need a phillips head screw driver, which is not included. Once installed and added to your Ring protect service, you have access to many features. Since this review is more for the camera itself, I will say that the new bird's eye view is a nice feature in that it lets you map out a more specific view using a map. Keep in mind that you'll have to install the camera pretty high to get the most out of the feature. One of the big features are HDR live view and color night vision. With HDR live view, you get a slightly crisper and cleaner video but at the cost of battery life. For me, it wasn't worth the battery life to get slightly better video. With the color night vision, I was pretty much disappointed. I thought this would literally show some color with the night vision, but it's still black and white. It will help saturate some more color if you have ambient light where the camera is pointing at. Aside from those two features, everything else remains the same. I mounted the pro outside. I have no idea what the IP rating is, but I've had the Ring doorbell for over two years, and it's survived many rain/thunderstorms, so I'm confident this one will be fine. All in all, it's another great addition to the Ring cam family. For the added price, the bird's eye view is what you're really paying for. The other features are minor, and more of an afterthought. For it's functionality, it's still one of the best. My only gripe is that I wish you could pan the camera around, manually or on a schedule. That's the only thing missing on ALL Ring cameras.

I finally was able to add a wireless RING solution to my apartment setup! First, adding the device was easy (as usual). In the app, you scan the QR code to add the device and follow the instructions presented. I had zero issues. The Ring Stick Up Cam Pro can be wall mounted (it does come with hardware in the box like screws) or placed on a table or any flat surface for that matter. It does allow for 5GHz network connectivity, which is nice since most modern routers have this option now. As far as the feature, we get motion detection, Home and Away modes, 1080p video (which is clear and more than enough for me). The camera can be added to any group you have already set up with your Ring environment, which is always a plus. As with most Ring products these days, the Stick Up Cam Pro is Alexa compatible and has two-way communication if you need to communicate with anyone on the other end. Overall, the Ring Stick Up Cam Pro has been a breeze to work with and the seamless integration into my current Ring ecosystem was simple and easy. The camera looks great and functions as it should. For me, the ability to move the camera wherever I want since it’s not wired in is a huge plus. The ease of mind that I am not stuck in one spot and do not have to hassle with potentially rewiring is amazing. I am happy with its functionality and will more than likely purchase a few more to ensure coverage.

Excellent performance, EZ to set up and use, clear video recordings, quick trigger alerts. They monitor my home, office and 90 yr old Mother’s place. Get the yearly subscription so you can preserve playback. We had a thief come to our business and steal a bunch of stuff out of our individual offices. My cam caught a good picture of him and the police published it. if I had heard the alert, I could’ve called the police immediately and triggered the alarm on the camera. Unfortunately I was at a movie and had my phone off.

I love Ring products. I have the doorbell and have an older "stick cam" watching my driveway and cars. Until now, I have not had anything monitoring the backyard. My daughter has an entrance to her living area back there and I didn't like that we couldn't see if someone lurking there. There are also wild animals in our area and knowing if there is a bear before you walk out the door is a big plus! This camera was super easy to install on the wall of my breezeway. I have vinyl siding but the screws were plenty long to grab the wood underneath. This makes the camera very sturdy. I am able to angle it where I need. The camera angle is much wider than the stick cam. Since I already have two Ring items attached to the app, this was easy to connect. I just scanned the bar code on the camera and it was linked. It has not always picked up people walking by (as my other Ring products do as well). I am not sure why. I would say it is over 90% accurate in picking up motion. The night views are very clear as well. This makes me feel better when she comes home from her late job and is using her entrance in the dark.

The Ring Stick Up Cam Pro (battery model) provides a comprehensive and advanced security solution. It features impressive security features such as 3D Motion Detection, customizable Bird's Eye Zones, and the Color Pre-Roll function. With high-quality video, two-way communication, and weather-resistant design, it proves to be a dependable choice. In our current setup, we have a Ring doorbell, three hard-wired floodlight cameras, a wired Stick Up Cam in the garage, a spotlight camera with a solar panel, and the Ring security system in our home. We've had the privilege of professional monitoring by Ring for over five years. The need for this camera arose when we introduced a new puppy into our family. The 3D motion detection and Bird's Eye Zones feature of this camera align perfectly with our requirements. Setting up the camera was a straightforward process, by scanning the QR code on the device for easy account integration. The setup procedure provides a walk-through of its features, allowing customization to suit individual preferences. The accompanying app grants access to device history and live feeds, while also facilitating sharing and video transmission to others. The battery can be charged by removing it from the unit, which is a standard procedure for Ring's battery-operated cameras. Since we had previously acquired several Ring spotlight cameras, we had extra batteries as backups, which came in handy when recharging the new battery. The camera can be wall-mounted or placed on a flat surface. Notably, this Pro model is larger in size compared to our other garage stick up cam. The camera's dual-band connection significantly extends its range, and it can effectively connect to our 5GHz mesh network, a feature our previous device lacked. Group integration is an option, with one of our floodlights, ring doorbell activating when motion is detected on this camera, ensuring comprehensive coverage. The camera offers various settings, including different modes (Home and Away), motion detection preferences (person or all motion), and the convenience of tap-based event notifications. The HDR video with 1080p HD quality guarantees clear and detailed visuals. The camera's rapid motion capture and excellent picture quality are notable improvements compared to previous generations. It's worth highlighting the seamless compatibility with Alexa devices. This camera can display its view on Alexa devices with screens, while other devices allow for convenient two-way communication. The choice of the battery version allows us to place it near our dog's playpen or crate when needed, enhancing the flexibility of our setup. Overall, this camera is a valuable addition to the ring ecosystem, and its integration with Alexa adds an extra layer of functionality. Whether looking to enhance your indoor security, expand your surveillance capabilities, or the Ring Stick Up Cam Pro, particularly in its battery iteration, is a valuable addition to the Ring ecosystem. Its compatibility with Alexa further enhances its functionality and the overall security experience. Whether used for indoor monitoring, expanding outdoor surveillance, or enhancing overall home security, this camera offers versatility, reliability, and advanced features to communicate with your pets or kids while away.

    3D Motion Detection is Awesome!

I have had Ring cameras as part of my security ecosystem for several years now, including the ring doorbell cam, multiple exterior cameras powered by solar panels, and an interior camera as well. This new Stick Up Cam Pro ads a new dimension to that ring of security by offering 3D detection, meaning that you can see what the Ring camera sees, but it only detects motion a predetermined distance away from the camera. So for example, if you live on a busy street, you can set up the camera at the front of your house, and put a perimeter to the edge of your yard using the birds eye view from MapBox. This then sets the top down view limit at the edge of your property, so that vehicles going past beyond that point don't trigger the camera detection, only anything closer than that. This in turn mitigates a lot of the false reports that you get during the day, if you live in a busy area. This is a superb addition to the camera. As you can see on my interior shots, there is a 'birds eye' window shown, that lets you see how far into the field of view someone is, so you can also prove that someone was on your property, by their proximity to the camera and that they are inside your predefined zone. This is a superb addition and will make a lot of people a lot happier about decreasing false alerts from busy traffic etc. Aside from that, you can set up different motion zones to concentrate on (colored boxes), zones to ignore (black box) which also helps you get another layer of motion detection accuracy. Talking of accuracy, the camera records in 1080p, with HDR and also has color night vision as well, so there shouldn't be any excuses for missing that critical shot. I did notice however, that when reviewing a recording, the first 3 or 4 seconds of playback tends to be a little bit pixelated and then it transitions to nice smooth, clear video. Just something to be aware of. All Ring cameras that I own, have done that. The battery version allows you to mount it pretty much anywhere. Indoors or outdoors, it is waterproof. You can also power it with a cord (not included) or a solar panel (also not included), but in my experience, the solar panels are a great addition for worry free power, especially here in Texas. Set it and forget it as they say. Ring cameras also integrate well with Alexa, so if you have any of the Alexa devices with screens, then you can simply call up the view of the camera on screen. 'Alexa, show me the Front Door' for example, and a view of that camera will be displayed on the screen. Really handy for instant visualization. You also have two way communication through the camera, you can speak to whoever is on screen as well. If you want to save your recordings, or capture a longer time frame than 7 days, you will need to subscribe to a Ring service plan. I have been subscribed for years and really appreciate the benefits that offers me. Overall, this new added layer of protection, and decreased false notification justifies the existence of this Stick Up Cam Pro. I like the insight it offers to the field of view, the distance, trajectory, and motion of the subject, along with the ability to select specific areas of the field of view. Great addition to the Ring ecosystem.

The Ring - Stick Up Cam Pro is a wireless, battery power security camera suited for indoor or outdoor use. If you have any Ring devices, it makes for a smart purchase. The camera itself is about the size of a 16oz beverage can, this model came in white and has a built-in mount which can be angled vertically. After fully charging the battery, setup was fairly simple, especially if you already have a Ring device. The app walks you through a basic setup using either the Android or iOS app. First it connects to your phone, then your Wi-Fi network. One of the first things the camera did once it was attached to my home network was to download and install an update. A voice stated it was downloading an update and a few minutes that same voice came stated the update was complete. After finishing the basic setup I found a suitable installation point about 10 feet off the ground, one that would have a good view of my backyard. Once installed I made some minor adjustments and took a look at the live picture. The video quality was fairly good, with 1080p High Definition streaming HDR video. Once I looked at the app and the camera setup a bit more in depth it allowed you to configure a number of different options, including detection zones and video quality, HDR and color night vision. Most of the more advanced capabilities are not on by default as they have an impact on battery life. I added all the advanced features so I would have a few days to determine what in a worst case scenario would drain the battery. Motion detection works well and picked up movement reliably. One of the gimmickier features is something called Birds Eye View which provides an aerial view based on a satellite picture of where the device is installed. Anytime there is motion, the Birds Eye view displays a trail of dots showing the movement of the person through your property. When I configured the Birds Eye view I noticed the satellite imagery it was using was before my neighborhood was built (my subdivision is three years ago) so that was a bit frustrating. Again video quality is good, but it is not 4K and zooming of the video reveals the lack of clarity in some situations, at night you likely will not be able to identify a person picked up by the motion sensor, even in full sunlight making out a face 20 to 30 feet away by zooming into the video yields results that are a bit disappointing. For instance, if you held up a car tag/plate from that distance you would not likely be able to read it. Overall, had a positive experience with this camera, utilizing all the advance features and leveraging my existing Ring account and app. >>Pros: >Simple setup process >Two-way full duplex sound, so you can listen and talk if needed >Works with the Ring ecosystem, if you have one device, this device integrates seamlessly with the mobile app and other devices. Including Alexa devices. >Excellent low light/night performance. >155-degree field of view (wide). >Battery life and the ability to plugin external power sources including a solar panel accessory from Ring. << Cons: <Not 4k resolution <As a single device, after the 30-day trial, the ring cloud service is reasonable, the jump to multiple devices is not, at ten dollars per month.<No onboard device storage or memory card capabilities, you have to subscribe to the cloud service to have video history of motion detected events.

Easy setup and install. Good image quality. The 150 degree view angle is ok , but prefer a wider angle to cover more area. Battery charge takes too long. The plastic base seems week.

Great Camera. A little on the large side, but not a big deal. Easy to hook up to the existing Ring system within our household. I think it would be nice once the base is screwed into the wall/ceiling that you could rotate the camera 360 once attached. So, that said, just be careful to do a mock-up before drilling holes so you orient the camera correctly on the 1st attempt.
