ROKU Premier
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The cable company jacked up my monthly cable bill by over 50 dollars per month, so I cut the cord. I now only subscribe to internet service. On the cable there were only about 12 -15 channels I normally watched. I bought a Roku Premier and subscribed to SlingTV and found that almost all my channels I normally watched were there. Since Cable now requires a cable box to watch their channels, using a Roku to watch cable type channels is really no difference than having cable and a greatly reduced price. I have since bought two of these for another TV in my home and love them. The only issue is every once in a while the Roku will not connect so I have to reset the unit by cycling the power. Other than that issue the picture is great and the performance is consistent with a cable box.. Great unit. I recommend one for every person that is thinking of leaving the cable company for a better option…

Great device for streaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had previously been using a rival device that was incredibly slow, so when I saw this on sale, I figured I'd give it a try. Extremely easy set-up and it's so much faster than what I was using for streaming before. Switches between apps at lightning speed and when I added two additional streaming stick+ to my house, they immediately picked up on all the apps on this box and added them to the sticks. Love that the Roku devices talk to each other with such ease! Worth the purchase.

Really Nice
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So the wife and I finally decided to cut the cord and get rid of cable tv. We ended up purchasing this Roku unit, an Apple TV 4k, an Amazon Fire Stick, and an AirTV with the antenna adapter. Of all of them the Roku and the Apple TV are head and shoulders above. Much faster and better integration. I was able to download the Roku app on my phone making password entry way easier than any of the other devices. Very fast and easy to connect and use.

This is for all sick of cable companies
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was reluctant to cut the cable, but this box made it much simpler. I am a near Luddite, and the set up was simple and straightforward. The picture on my TV is usually better than cable, and always as good, the selection of channels is numerous, if you want to get away from your cable provider and their ridiculous charges, this is for you. 4K is available! There is quality assistance available in-store and of course, Geek Squad.

Easy and has all the apps I want.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this Roku to replace my mother‘s old Apple TV to enable her to get Amazon prime and Acorn TV in addition to the other apps she was using on Apple. I was amazed how easy it was to set up and adding apps was very simple. The remote is also easy to use and my 91 year old mom is able navigate through the apps with relative ease. I liked this Roku product so much I got a Roku Premiere for myself the next day!

Best replacement for satellite/cable I've found!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I decided to cancel my outrageously expensive satellite service and try a streaming service instead. I have had Netflix for a couple of years and love the content, but I wanted something with local channel options that still had the feel of my DirecTV guide. I tried Sling; it felt clunky. Perhaps I didn't give it long enough; but it just didn't appeal to me. I decided to go with DirecTVNow, since I got a discount via my AT&T wireless service. Unfortunately, my LG smart TV doesn't have the DTVNow app. I was slogging along using my AppleTV to connect with the app on my iPad. Not optimal. I have a Roku TV in my bedroom and had no issues with the DTVNow app, so I opted for this Roku player for the LG TV in the living room. Excellent choice! I have everything I want now and 4K (if channels/programs streamed 4K)! And with the Black Friday deal, I got this great little box for $50! Happy camper here! The only drawback is that I have to use both the TV remote and the Roku remote. I'm hoping I can figure out how to combine, but I'm not sure the various functionality formats will all meld into a single device. We shall see...

Great Receiver replacement
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this product. It enabled me to get my Spectrum TV channels on one of my; TVs that didn't have the Spectrum receiver. At the local Spectrum office an employee told me that we're streaming through their receiver so streaming through my internet connection with the Roku works. The remote is different but you can also put the Roku remote on your smartphone and control with that. Love this item.

Cord cutting must have!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Roku Premiere+ is extremely powerful and fast. It blows away my old Fire TV stick which had problems running live TV from Hulu and Sling TV. The Roku interface is very easy to use. The Roku Channel is great for free movies too! The remote is very responsive. It has dedicated buttons for Sling, Netflix, Hulu and HBO Now. I have 3 of those so it is a great feature. I would highly recommend!!!

Love Roku
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this Roku... 4K + HDR = Beautiful picture. I tried the new Amazon Fire TV 4K and returned it, way too many problems with it. The Roku runs so much smoother and I don’t have to log in to each app everyday like the Fire TV. If you’re on the fence about which 4K streamer to get, I suggest the Roku. Oh and has the Spectrum App which the Fire TV does not. Save that cable box rental fee.

Amazing streaming device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I heard of roku from friends awhile a go. I had a cable box in bedroom and was sick of getting charged for it. I was really sceptical about hooking it up myself. Could not belive how easy it was to hook up and how clear the pictue was. I have more channels with roku premier plus than the cable box. The only regret I have is that I should have purshased the roku alot sooner.

Great Roku Upgrade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have had a Roku for years and when the opportunity came to upgrade to a new model at a good price we got the Premium model. Much faster, more features, big improvements. One really cool feature is the headphone port on the remote which will be great for those who watch while others are sleeping, another is the volume control on the remote. Very nice, easy to use product.

Great upgrades and fast performance!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second roku device. I'm updating my old roku 2 which still working well but shows signs of old age. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. This model has great picture quality and loads super fast. The earphone jack is a great addition however the remote is bigger than my previous model. So far I'm happy with the product and would recommend it.

Great value!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up a couple of these on Black Friday ($50 each) to replace the cable tuner boxes that recently started having monthly rental fees. We have a couple older Roku's including one of the USB thumb drive styles and these seem work much better. Once set up, they stream TV exceptionally well and given the low BF price point, I will break even fairly quick.

Good speed, connectivity, and picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The unit has functioned as described. Its picture for 4K and HDR is very good. Unit seems to run a little faster than the ROKU 4 it replaced, and the remote is responsive. No problem with connectivity to the router. Have not noticed any of the earlier issues sometimes associated with audio. Unit does seem to run cooler than the ROKU 4, even without the fan.

Fast streaming model
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Roku Premiere Plus because I am cutting the cable cord. I had a very old Roku HD model, one of their first or second gen and an 8 yr old Netgear router which was not cutting it anymore. Lag, buffering and just annoying so I needed to upgrade. Originally I selected this Roku model because of the ethernet port so I could directly hard wire it to my router instead of using WiFi. I also bought a new 802.11 ac Motorola modem/router, one of their top all in one models and I couldn't be happier with the results. I ended up using the WiFi on the Roku and the picture is amazing. The 1080p is crisp and clear, no lag and very fast. The headset on the remote is a nice feature for when my partner is watching and I'm trying to sleep but I just moved the Roku to a 4K TV in the livingroom so I have the option to view 4K programs.

Excellent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Roku... I'm extremely pleased with it. The Geek Squad guy set this up when he was here to install a new router. I'm glad I went for it - wished I'd gotten into streaming ages ago! I've now achieved what I might have previously thought impossible... I've now gained access to more television that I could ever possibly watch. Cool.

Roku Premiere + Good Bye Cable!!! This Is Great!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If your familiar with Roku and upgrading it's worth it. It's fast and the operating speed is noticeable immediately! To new comers Roku aggregates almost every TV app available. Literally everything you normally watch live is available within a day or two of broadcast. Set up is simple, your up and running in 5 minutes or less. The picture quality is stunning if you have the right Wi-Fi bandwidth and TV (4k for me). And if you add a Hi-Def antenna to your setup say good bye to cable TV forever!!! Hello Live local TV for FREE! I cut the cord 1 month ago. It takes a couple of days to figure out and tweak all the apps and where your shows are coming from. Once done it's amazing! Lastly here is what to be aware of prior to buying and post purchase. Important: Decide if your running audio thru a receiver. This ONLY has HDMI out so if you go directly to the TV with your HDMI cable your using your TV as the audio source. Some people rather send the video signal directly to the TV (pure uninterrupted signal) rather then pass thru a receiver. And then run audio thru the receiver using optical audio cable etc. So plan this out prior to purchase. Though I was aware of it, I thought I don't need optical audio output (on second thought maybe I do). And even if you go Bluetooth for instance to a sound bar an option is always nice. Initially I made my choice because the Premiere + was $20. off so it was a $50. savings from the Ultra. I bring this up because my universal remote (brand starts with H) doesn't always get my output source correct. If I had optical audio this would not occur (I wish I did). And lastly I had to reboot (pull the plug) once post setup. The Roku locked up. This happened on two Roku's that I bought for separate TV's. Hasn't happened again. This product is great.
