I was using my DVD player to connect to different apps. Bought this and is super happy about the speed and clarity. Voice command and being able to plug in headphones via the remote are great qualities too. Two thumbs up!

I purchased this for my parents and I really like the layout. I have an amazon fire stick but i kinda like the ROKU device a bit more. The remote is way, way better! It seems to run faster as well. Great purchase 9/10

Summary: For $99, you can't find a better streaming device that is easy to use and has advanced remote features. My Review: When it comes to streaming devices, there isn't a whole lot of difference, functionally, between apple tv, amazon's fire stick, Google's Chromecast, and the Roku. Roku, in my opinion, is a superior product for three simple reasons: 1) The user interface is very intuitive and easy to use (Apple's is too, but it's twice the price). 2) The remote is awesome - it has a built-in headphone jack, controls the volume on the tv via infrared signal, and if the remote is lost, you can easily ping it by hitting a button on the roku. 3) Ease of use (kind of a subset of 1). The roku technology is super intuitive. For example, I recently brought it with me to a hotel and it immediately recognized I was on a hotel wifi network, giving me easy step-by-step instructions to connect to the hotel's network.

I've been enjoying my Roku thus far. Loving the 4k for all the 4k apps (Netflix, Vudu, Youtube, etc). Great interface and great selection of apps to add! Look forward to seeing what else I find thru my Roku.

The processor is so much faster than the Roku 1,2, or 3. I own them all. This solved my streaming issues and went from Good to Excellent. MY Roku is far away from my router, and I still get great service.

We have an older Samsung plasma display (PDP) and while it came with streaming apps, Samsung has stopped providing updates for this panel and there are more streaming services we needed access to than the TV provided. We were using a PS3 as a streaming device until it started having problems with its HDMI output. So, the newest generation Roku Ultra was purchased as a replacement. It's been great so far. The remote is very useful. We haven't made use of the private listening feature of the remote yet, though, so I can't speak to that. Nor can I speak to use of the Roku app for mobile devices because we haven't tried that yet. Otherwise, this device has been an excellent purchase.

This roku works perfectly on 4k. My reason for purchasing was so that I can plug in my headphones to the remote to watch movies at night without bothering anyone at sleep. What a great feature.

We cut off cable and satellite tv about 5 years ago. We have a Roku TV, and 3 other televisions with a Roku. No better way to watch Netflix, Amazon Prime, HULU, Acorn, BritBox, etc. It is very user friendly and an inexpensive way to watch great programming. Love the remote. Love that it comes with earphones that plug into the remote so we can watch TV while the other sleeps without the noise. So many good reasons to purchase.

I upgraded from the firestick because I was having streaming issues from my local plex. This smoothed that out. The speed is much much fastest in the menus and the remote is great

I've had almost every version of the Roku since the beginning. I love the ecosystem of apps, and the remote control ergonomics. Paired with my Sony X900E, I use the Roku over the TV's built-in apps, mostly due to HDR support. All things considered, this is an excellent product. However, I have had issues with it being "buggy." It seems to reboot a little more than my last Roku (due to a crash). I have it propped up on feet and case fans for extra cooling, just in case. The strangest thing lately, though, is that it will display white static snow after being on for a few hours. But not reliably. The past few days have been fine. Hard to deduce the issue. If you want the best possible 4K HDR streaming device, no other comes close. The Apple TV, Chromecast, Fire TV, etc do not have the same number of apps plus features that I require. The voice function is probably the best on the Apple TV, though. Roku's is not good.

Great updates ROKU, the remote search has come in handy. The 4K picture looks super, it was easy to setup. Controlling the TV sound and power with the ROKU remote is a BIG Plus..

Setup was easy, works flawlessly. Have it hard wired to the internet and streaming beats cable quality. No regrets leaving cable behind!

Ive had a fire stick appletv and Roku and this is by far the best easy to use great channels and control the volume of tv with remote

Our dog ate the old Roku remote and luckily it was still under Geek Squad warranty. This one is so much faster. Awesome streaming!!!

This new roku is faster and better looking, and also seems to solve the overheating and freezing that the older roku3 suffered from. The remote is also more useful with buttons that now control the power and volume on a TV.

My cable bill was crazy like consistently between $240-$275 a month plus fees. So with much hesitation I Canceled BlueRidge Cable, kept my internet and upped my monthly service and bought the Roku Ultra. I am glad I did. I use Netflix, AMazon Prime w/video and Hulu Plus LIve. With all these services I am still saving over $125. A month. Ultra 4K is awesome, which Blue RIdge Cable did not offer. No streaming issues even during our recent Snow Zillas. HuluLive offers tons of the common live channels. Plus you can add apps to the Roku! The voice controlled remote is awesome AND CONTROLS MY SAMSUNG 8500 CURVE with no issues at all. Now what to do with the $1500 I’ll save this year on cable services? Bye-Bye- Blue RIdge!

Easy to use, works wonderfully with my U-verse internet connection and provides great streaming of programs I love to watch, on Acorn, CBS All Access, Netflix, etc. The remote is intuitive, fits well in the hand, and has buttons that are responsive and well placed. I would buy it again.

I bought the ROKU Ultra after reading the reviews on this product for a long time but was hesitant because the 40 inch Sony I am using this on is NOT a smart TV nor does the tv have wireless internet. I was amazed how easy it was to set up and the beautiful picture with a multitude of channels available to load and ones that come with the Ultra ROKU already installed like Tv shows and Movies which are free. I am coming back to buy another for another TV we own. I wish I would have made the plunge before buying our 60 inch Samsung smart TV. I would have choosen a less expensive TV without the 'smart' features and just bought a ROKU. If you are on the fence about it, take the plunge! It's well worth it!

Fastest streaming media device I've used. Several connectivity options for higher end home theater systems. I use to with a wired network connection, and everything loads very fast. User interface is simple and easy to navigate, although it could use a fresh coat of paint since the Roku interfaces haven't changed much over the years. Works very well with Harmony Elite (and Harmony Hub) remote.

The software of this device is by far really more clean then any other player on the market. Beside the compatibility with mayor applications is superior to appleTV amazon Firetv. I have used with Plex to stream movies in 4K quality, with directivnow, Netflix, PlayStation VUE and many more and performance is excellent, no lagging or downgrade of image quality if you keep the bandwidth.
