    Not Worth The Price

I bought this Samsung washer and paired dryer in the beginning of December. I chose this washer for its steam technology and the capacity to wash larger loads. I spend several weeks researching washers and dryers, as well as reading reviews. From everything I read, it seemed like a good buy. I have a Samsung phone, and have been very happy with its performance. Immediately I noticed that the dryer was not living up to its performance claims. Everything would come out damp. I thought that it had to be operator error, since it was a brand new dryer. The dryer would roll all the laundry into a tight ball, and the items in the center would consistently come out damp. I tried everything. I put less in each load, I put more in each load. I ran items through several loads. I tried taking out items, shaking them out and running them through again. I even put a tennis ball in with the load as was recommended on many troubleshooting sites. All of this was very frustrating, however, I assumed it was something that I had been doing wrong. Then, week 3 into owning the washer and dryer, the washer began to leak water out of the front. I could spend time troubleshooting the appliances, calling Samsung, and attempting to have them come and repair/ correct the issues. However, after installation, taxes, and the extra kits that are required for the steam technology, I ended up spending around $1800. These appliances are less than a month old. Both of them should not be experiencing the issues that are occurring. My concern is that if they are having issues this early on, what it going to happen in a year or two? The washer and dryer that I had owned previously were over 15 years old, and were both still in working condition with no repairs ever performed on either appliance. Furthermore, I do not have the time to spend going back and forth with Samsung and/or Best Buy to get these brand new appliances fixed. I am returning them before the 30 return policy expires. I would not recommend Samsung washers or dryers to anyone. For the amount of money that I spent, I feel as though you should be able to have a working washer and dryer without any issues for at least the first month.

Failed after 2.5 years of moderate use...

Let me preface this by saying I have never written a review for anything I've purchased...Purchase date Sep 2015... BOTH circuit boards failure date Feb. 2018. We purchased this 4.5 Cu. Ft front load washer for our home (just girlfriend and myself) from Best Buy and could not have been more excited to try out our first "high tech/high quality" appliance. Let me assure you that this product is neither...We were immediately disappointed with the cleaning quality of larger items (loads of bathroom towels, our comforters, etc.) because of a mildew-esq smell they retained. And now BOTH circuit boards have failed JUST MONTHES OUT OF WARRANTY. I called a local repair shop for examination and the tech let me know that this unit has 2 control boards and BOTH had failed. I contacted Samsung customer to see if the boards were still under warranty to double check and 2 separate techs assured me that this unit was still under warranty. They assigned my service request to a Samsung authorized shop for a 2nd opinion and I just got off the phone with that shop to find out that indeed my unit is out of warranty. The repair of both boards + service would cost $550...The local repair shop suggested Speed Queen and Whirlpool stating "parts are much easier to come by and service is half the cost". I will take this advice and hope you do too...so incredibly frustrated with the time and $ we wasted.

I bought this during the November sales for $650 before taxes and purchased 5 year Geek Squad for peace of mind as front loaders regardless of the brand or manufacturer aren't as reliable as the old top loaders our parents had with agitators that used gallons and gallons and gallons of water. This machine requires so little detergent (only use high efficiency) that it blows my mind how it even cleans things so well. I use the steam function for nearly every load because hot water in my building is horrible and not reliable at all. I love that my clothes come out 99% dry on the highest (1300rpm) rinse setting. It's an incredibly quite and very efficient machine and it's so little water you'll think you're hoses aren't fully open to feed enough water to the machine. Trust me it knows when more water is needed based on the amount of clothes or the cycle you select. Dry the window and rubber seal inside the machine as there will be water left. Use the recommended amount of high efficiency detergent only no more. Use steam more often then using harsh chemicals like bleach. Leave the door open after each wash to dry and prevent mold growth. Run a self clean cycle once a month or every other month based on use. Clean the filter and detergent tray within the same period for odor and mold prevention.

I love this washer. I also have the matching gas dryer. I've owned the set for about a year. I'm a single male. The large drum makes it so I only need to do a load a week, 2 if I'm doing the bedding. This thing can easily handle a week and half worth of my laundry. I mean 10 jeans, 10 shirts, 10 undies, 2 towels, 2 washcloths, 10prs of socks. No problem for this thing. It can also handle all the queen bedding in one load - comforter, fitted sheet, flat sheet, 4 pillow covers, bed skirt. I'm not shy about packing the washer full. It's on the second floor and is VERY quiet throughout all phases of the cycles. It rarely goes out of balance and will stop before it makes too much noise. The reason for the 4 stars is that the balance sensor is very sensitive on the fast wash setting. It's the only setting that will attempt to balance to the load until it is perfect, this results in the fast wash cycle taking significantly longer than what is displayed on the timer. All the other wash settings let spin cycle engage being slightly out of balance allowing the cycle remaining time to be fairly accurate. The washer quickly corrects the slight imbalances before the RPMs get to full speed (within 10 seconds). Even when the spin cycle first engages, the machine remains quiet.

I just wanted to share my experience in regarding the washer from Samsung. I purchased the washer in November of 2015. After the first wash the door would not latch properly (I would have to push and hold the door until it locks. Because I didn't get Best Buy's geek squad apparently I had to deal with Samsung customer service. Two years now and I still have the washer; they sent repair team to my house on 13 different occasions and they worked 7 times on the washing machine. They replaced latch on 2 different occasions, wiring harness, the whole front face of the washer, the actual lock, the motherboard and something else. Few months ago my washer would not drain water and they refused to do anything about it because my warranty expired (washing machine was never fixed). After talking to them again they said they would give me money back (check) and I had to hold the washing machine until they pick it up. I am still waiting to receive the check. The washing machine was fine while it ran and did a ok job, nothing special about it. Since the product is in the mature stage of its life they add bunch of bells and whistles on the washing-machine that most people will ever use. Mine may have been 1 in a million but the Samsung's customer-service was the WORST I have ever encountered. I used to love Samsung products and was a loyal customer, the recent events have changed that. Instead of buying Samsung's kitchen appliance I went with LG and couldn't be happier.

I purchased this washer 3 weeks ago. It replaced a 6 year old top load Maytag that I was never really happy with. I got this Samsung on sale at a great price. I have happily been doing laundry for the last 3 weeks (35-40 loads already). It handles and CLEANS clothes, bedding, towels and delicates beautifully. I thought the steam option was a novelty that I would never use but I really like it for sheets and towels. Everything comes out bright and fresh and I haven’t noticed any smell from the washer. Over the weekend I put a load in to wash and forgot about it...until 12 hours later. Imagine my surprise to find the washer stuck in the spin cycle. I googled this problem and it is indeed a know problem. Not a good way to start out. I’m an Elite member so I got 35 to return which is what I’m doing. I did buy the extended warranty but I don’t have a good feeling this early in the game. We selected an LG and will give that a try....I really hope it’s as good because I LOVE what this Samsung can do! Best Buy was great setting up the delivery of the new one at the same time they will be picking up the Samsung.

Have had the machine for about a month and it seems to work fairly well. Not sure if this is good or bad, but after the clothes are washed, the clothes smell like the laundry soap. With my old washer, I could not. I really like the delay end function, which allows you to have the washer end at a specified time. There are a few items about the machine I wish were different. 1. The end of cycle chime is too quiet. I cannot hear it when I am in another room. 2. Occasionally, throughout the wash, clothes end up being tossed to one side of the drum, The machine then gets out of balance and makes an awful thumping moise that shakes the house. This lasts until a new cycle starts. 3. The control panel is made up of flashing lights. During the entire wash, the lights flash. Even when you set the delay end function, the lights flash the whole time. I will set the delay end for 11 hours and the lights the whole time. I wish the lights would not flash all the time.

Washer is broken and poor response from Samsung

I bought this washer in January and loved it until November when it stopped mid cycle, door locked, and would not start again. After calling Samsung (the washer is under warranty), they sent out a repair team to try to fix it. The repair company came three days in a row and spent 12 hours on the machine and still didn't fix it. Now Samsung wants a second opinion, which means sending out a new repair company (in 2 to 3 days). This has been total inconvenience and I am very disappointed in Samsung's service and the service companies that they partner with. I have not been able to do laundry for a month and there are clothes stuck in the washer with the door locked. Washer is not fixed yet and there is no end in sight.

I've only had this washer for about 3 weeks, but I've already really put it through the paces with lots of laundry loads. The size of the drum is great, and I can get my laundry done in about half the time as with my previous washer. Clothes come out clean. This washer is nice and quiet even with the large capacity and high spinning speed. The end of cycle signal is not just a beep. The washer plays a quick little tune, but if you have the sound all the way on, then it lasts 30 seconds (I timed it because it seemed so long!) and does not stop playing even after opening the door. I actually find the long signal helpful so I can notice it from several rooms away and take care of my laundry load right away. I'm a bit disappointed that some of the cycle operations are not as adjustable as I'd like, but I still love this washer.

My old washing machine was a combo of washer and dryer by LG lasted nine years. Unfortunately it broke on me and I started looking for more room, quietest and better priced washing machine. After few days of research I liked this washer because of my need. More room then my old machine, same space to set up, more cycles to wash and better priced by Best Buy. I was able to set up the home delivery and installation within 2 days. Delivery and installation crews showed up on time and in 10 minutes they were able to get the old machine out of the house and install the new machine. They performed a test on the new machine and explained how this product work and answered service related questions. After they left I performed my first wash through the new machine. I was amazed how quiet the machine while running through cycles, liked the platinum color of the machine that matched my dryer as well.I would definitely recommend this washer to everyone who is in the market to purchase one.

We bought this as an open box after the our older model Samsung front loader stopped spinning. We wanted something that would fit on the existing pedestal. The motor in the old unit must have been going for awhile as the new model finishes the quick wash cycle much faster and the clothes come out less damp, leading to less drying time. Not only is our laundry done faster, but I'm sure we'll see some savings on the electric bill. One note: both the sales associate and the delivery team stated the new model washer wouldn't fit on the old model pedestal. The new pedestal uses clamps to lock the feet in place. This is not accurate. You simply have to remove the adjustable feet from the washer and it is then fastened to the pedestal with using a 3/8" bolt and washer. We simply used the spacer pads and bolts from the prior unit.

Samsung Washer - Replacement for Recall

This is my 4th Samsung washing machine in less than 1 year. The first top loader model was delivered from another store (not Best Buy) and would not power on after delivery. The 2nd washer (same model) was re-delivered and worked great, until 2 months later I received notice it was being recalled. Due to the recall, I purchased a different top loader model and upon delivery that machine would not latch or start a wash cycle. This is when I gave up on the Samsung top loaders and dealing with the other retailer. I decided to purchase a front loader washing machine from Best Buy. Overall it is a good washer. However, I still think top loader machines clean better than this model. I don't think I would purchase a Samsung washing machine in the future, but due to the recall, I received more money from Samsung to replace my recalled washer with another Samsung machine.

Bought this with the matching electric dryer to stack as we have a very small closet for laundry. They work fine. Stacking was a pain and although the units measured seemed to fit, they didn't fit unless the dryer was side-vented. The stacking kit actually makes the dryer sit a bit over the back of the washer. The side-venting of the dryer was a nightmare. They're also extremely heavy. I also have difficulty seeing the control panel of the dryer as it's tilted upwards and I'm 5'5". I wouldn't suggest getting this pair unless they're used side-by-side. Otherwise, I'm happy with them and they seem to do a decent job on laundry with a large capacity and quiet operation.

Super smart looking, quite running, setting's are easy for a simple minded person like myself when it comes to washing. I throw my stuff in select what I want and the clothes/bedding always comes out great. No issues what so ever. Combine it with the dryer also and you have the ultimate combo. The amount of load space is insane, I can fit all my bedding in one go whilst almost throwing myself in during the process with room to spare.

We are on our 3rd of this model and it’s been nothing but trouble. The first one was fine but the installers switched the water lines we found out when they brought the new one. The second one made a really high squeal every time water was filling throughout the cycle (which is a lot!). Now, our third in just two months keeps reporting 4C which means it’s sensor is off because our water lines are fine! And it’s unbalanced so it makes a ton of noise! I can’t believe we’ve had so many issues with these. Maybe bad installers from B.B. but it’s unacceptable either way! Will be returning!

I have been using top load washers forever. This is my first front load washer and with the extra buttons to customize your washing load I find this to be a very good washer. The clothes also smell more cleaner than my old top load HE washing machine. I did not get the pedestal but if you are tall you might want to get one as it is pretty low. Overall wait for the special during holiday sales all throughout the year for a great deal. I did and it was worth every penny.

This was a package purchase with the dryer of the same model. Both washer and dryer have many settings. Compared to the previous set i had, this is much quieter. It fits in a small closet next to my bath room, unfortunately i did not think about the depth of the machine when i purchased. It comes out about an inch past the door way, As a result i had to remove the closet door, but i can still hear my tv just fine when the machines are running. It's also big enough to wash & dry (heavy) king/queen size blankets.

We purchased this washer together with a matching gas dryer. At first we had them side by side but then we needed more storage in the kitchen so had to stack them (super easy to do so with the stacking kit - sold separately). It easily fits large loads (comforter for example) and is not loud and doesn't wobble during spin cycles. I love the various options (allergen, sanitize, delicate, steam, etc.). The wash cycles are a bit on the longer side but that can be adjusted with a customized cycle (the preprogrammed ones are taking longer).

The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars is because I haven't had the chance to utilize all the options. So far the washing machine has been great. It's much quieter than our last one, hardly vibrates, and I love the speed wash cycle that only takes about 30 minutes! One small simple feature is the pleasant ring tone it plays when the cycle is done, it does last longer than expected, but like I said, it's the simple things you can enjoy!
