    Great TV for the price

I did a lot of research online from different merchants and read a several reviews before purchasing this TV. The price was reasonable for this particular model. The image and sound is very good compare to my 10 year old sharp tv that just stoped working. My only concern was about being able to use my current tv table, since the screen is curved and the brackets are meant for a flat screen. I manage to use them by holding the tv only from the upper two slots and screws in the rear, since the mount doesn't seat flat on the screen. I guess is holding it ok, but I will eventually buy the apropiate wall mount for a curved screen. Over all my family and I are very happy with this product.

I decided to grab one of these at a fraction of the cost I paid for my 8500fxza series curved I bought two years ago. Had it not been damaged by my movers I would not have had the chance to experience this Amazing TV at such an unbelievably reasonable price point. The optimistic side of me is kind of excited that I got the opportunity to realize that you don’t have to spend a couple thousand dollars to get a Great TV set these days. This 7 series does everything simply perfectly.

The sound and resolution are clear enough for the price. Because of the curve screen, we can see from different angles. Highly recommended.

My wife and I bought the 55-inch RU7300 in 2020 to replace a very good 2007 Samsung 46-inch LCD. We purchased it during Covid-19 closures, so we were unable to see the TV in the store before the purchase. We based our choice on the overwhelmingly positive reviews and of favorable recollections of seeing curved screens on previous store visits. We realized it was our last chance to own a curved TV, since the design is dead. We returned it the very next weekend for a full refund. We drew the short straw and took home what was quickly apparent to be a defective screen. Extreme and uneven backlight bleed. It felt like we were watching TV through a dirty, smudged window. The picture quality on our 13-year old LCD was better than this new UHD. See the picture: that background behind the actor's name in the opening credits is supposed to be uniform black. We used it for several days before giving up on the screen and repackaging it for return. We had a poor enough experience overall that we will not try again with another RU7300. Here’s why: -- The curve is irrelevant, at least in the 55 inch model. We had high hopes for this given the reviews and our memories of walking store aisles months or years ago, but it’s just a gimmick. It looks good when you’re up close to the screen, as you are when looking at TVs in a store. But at the typical living room watching distance, it’s almost completely unnoticeable. It looks the same as watching a regular flat screen. Before the purchase, we wondered why companies had stopped making them. Now we know: the curve is pointless. -- The dimmest backlight setting is still overly bright in a completely dark room. -- We don’t know if it was yet another symptom of a defective screen, but watching the TV strained our eyes. We felt like everything was slightly blurred, but we could figure out no way to make the image crisp. The sharpness slider in video controls did not resolve the poor image. -- The screen is extremely reflective. In laboratory measurements of 91 TVs, 83 TVs were less reflective than the RU7300. Only 7 TVs were worse than the Samsung. I can’t link to outside sites, but do a web search on “tv reviews reflections on tvs” to find measurements. -- The remote is straight out of 1993. It is abysmal. It has a uniform shape, so in a dark room, you can’t even tell if you picked it up forwards or backwards. The entire top half is covered in buttons that you will never push other than by accident. The bottom half buttons run together. Streaming buttons like play, pause, rewind, and fast forward are tiny specks of buttons at the very bottom. Arrow keys can serve some of these purposes if you can manage to find them in the dark. -- The remote is anachronistic enough it can still operate our old 2007 LCD TV. After seeing how bad the curved screen image was, we set up both TVs next to each other to compare. The remote would turn them both on or off with one push of the power button. -- You have very little ability to adjust the display and audio settings. Settings are very basic: video included only a color saturation slider, sharpness, contrast, brightness, and backlight brightness. Other configuration options appeared to be written into the software, but they were permanently grayed out on this television. -- The Samsung software didn’t impress. The app selection was amazingly tiny. There were about 10 apps pre-listed, including the heavy hitters like Netflix, Prime, and Hulu. The on-screen menu option to add more apps then listed just five more. No Disney+. No ESPN. No CBS All Access. We couldn’t figure out how to add the rest of the streaming universe to the TV. Note that we didn’t investigate the online Samsung account that we were required to create, so we don’t know if more apps can be added that way. -- If you push the “Guide” button on the remote out of curiosity, then you find yourself in the bizarre world of “Samsung TV”. It’s a collection of old content that nobody is interested in. The best thing I could find was a channel that showed nothing but episodes of the 1980’s show Unsolved Mysteries hosted by that guy who was in the movie Airplane!. -- The TV software includes some laughably bad bits. It had a web browser, but since there isn’t any sort of mouse input as on the LGs with their magic remote, the Samsung instead required you to use the up, down, left, and right arrow keys to just keep bumping along the on-screen cursor a quarter inch at a time. -- The Samsung app for Android allows your phone to be used as a remote. It was convenient for a household: my wife and I were each able to install it and could each control the TV from our own phones. We knew going in that the TV had a terrible remote and that the Samsung TV software was a low-rated platform. We thought that we would put up with those drawbacks for a few years while enjoying the so-called cinematic experience of the curved TV. When we realized how irrelevant the curve really was, though, those complaints took on greater weight. The defective screen on our unit gives us the opportunity for a do-over, and we will not select this TV again.

Well there’s things about it i love and there’s things i don’t. For one my air pods are so low on here wi55e Bluetooth. There’s only 3 hdmi slots. I don’t really see the 4K unless I’m just blind and have no idea how to even get to the HDR. I possibly could have and should have waited and did more research. I do love that it’s curved however. Wanted to replace the TV in my bedroom and this was a great choice. Perfect size and VERY easy to set up. The smart remote is crowded with buttons (44) but works very well AND, to my surprise, the Samsung remote duplicates most of the button commands on my Cable TV remote control eliminating the need for it unless I want to change settings. PLUS, I have an Amazon Fire TV Cube used on my prior TV and it connected to the this TV almost magically, so now I can control the TV by voice command as well as having 2 remote control options. The picture quality is terrific - clear, crisp and as sharp as the human eye can detect, and even older rerun TV shows appear to have sharper images. It also connects to my PC so I can view saved videos and pics on the TV without cable connections.....my PC is on the first floor and my bedroom is on the second floor. I can't imagine what else Samsung could improve upon other than giving users a little more personal control over picture and sound options - it only has pre-determined variations - but I'm satisfied with my choices, and I prefer a back-lit remote control so it's easier to find buttons in the dark. The sound is very good but could maybe use a bit more sub-woofer low frequency sound, but that's just my personal preference and not a negative factor for me. The TV is a bit heavy because it's 55 inches but I was able to lift it unto my dresser with no problem - my dresser is about 4 feet tall. No complaints but in the future I hope Samsung adds back-lighting on the remote. This TV is a no-brainer if you enjoy a lot of functionality and conveniences and terrific image display and it doesn't break the bank.

This is my first 4K TV, and I'm not sure if that's why I'm so impressed, but I've never seen picture quality of this magnitude before. The presentation is colorful, smooth, and wholly natural. The sound is light years better than my previous TV, which was also a Samsung, and the smart features are easy to navigate. The curved design adds a cinematic feel, and cuts down on some glare. All in all, every movie I watch on this TV feels as though I'm seeing it for the first time.

I'd like to start off by saying I was much less interested in the curve of the TV than I was the Component Input feature. It seems Samsung is discontinuing this feature in their more recent 4K TVs which is a shame! I know there are HDMI converter boxes out there, but you will end up losing some image fidelity, and likely introducing some lag into your experience. I stressed out a little when this TV went out of stock a little while ago, so when it miraculously came back, I snapped one up. The curve is nice at a moderate distance, but I must admit I lose the effect from the position I'm seated from. Then again, it wasn't the feature that sold me on the TV, so I don't mind. Plus, it makes it look really impressive sitting there on the TV stand even when it's off. I also think it would look silly if you wall mounted it. The TV image fidelity is really incredible also. It's my first 4K TV, and I'm in love. If you own a PS4 Pro, you NEED to buy Tetris Effect and play it in 4K. You will not regret it. Minor nitpick - I can't figure out a way to disable the Smart TV guide. I wonder if it's even possible. It's fine for accessing settings, but I don't much care for the app list, so I'd prefer to just turn it off. After leaving the settings menu, you have to hit "Exit" again to get rid of it, and it makes a noise. Really annoying when I'm watching a movie. I cannot think of any major complaints with the TV so far. The image is crisp, the audio is decent (I usually use my PlayStation Gold Headset anyway). It has the component input so I can play the Wii and PS2 on it, and 3 HDMI inputs which is just about perfect for my needs. I'm sure there are cheaper TVs out there with comparable video and audio, but for giving me the ability to use older hardware, it just puts this model over the top. Samsung, please don't discontinue the component input option just yet! Retro gaming is still lucrative, and I'm sure there are a lot of other gamers who would love this feature!

Simple but elegant curved frame. Perfect fit for a moderately sized bedroom. The curve still gives a great picture towards any frontal viewing angle and the sound isn't too shabby for stock speakers. I paired the tv with a samsung soundbar which the TV picked up super quick and easy. The operating system on the tv is a little bit odd at first but once you get the hang of it, it gets pretty easy. All your apps are in one spot and switching between inputs and apps is a breeze with the simple remote that's included.

The TV replaced an older 1080P TV. This one looks better if sitting close than the older one did. It has much more of the smart content. It also has better contrast and brilliant colors. Because of the curved screen if a window is nearby you pretty much have to be straight in front of it in the daytime. Otherwise you will only see the window. But it’s not bad if your not viewing it from an angle. A little bit of a learning curve to learn to operate it. The printed owner’s manual is pretty light and the downloadable one is like reading a book. I just learned by playing with it. The SmartThings app on the smart phone can be used as a basic remote control but for some things like getting into settings you will need the remote it ships with.

    TV got Curve!

If you have the appeal for curve thenyou won't be disappointed with this option. In fact I don't know of any other manufactures who offer such a feature. Biggest thing to note is and what I saw in similar reviews is the audience. I wouldn't necessarily consider this an option for a big party... like watching a game. Hard to view from various angles. If using for gaming or tend to watch movies as a date night of two... enjoy the show!

Only a few days in but so far I am very happy with this Tv. Very affordable and I just couldn't beleive the picture quality I got from this set out of the box. The curved style is beautiful and stylish in any setting, but that picture quality was what really floored me. Deep blacks, lifelike colors, and superb clarity you'd expect from higher priced models, Samsung delivered a quality product.

My wife and I both really enjoy the look of the curve screen. This is the second one we have owned, had the previous model. Only complaint is that Samsung doesnt make a curved screen for their Q series TVs. The curve really does make it look more cinematic. Picture looks great. We do have this tv in our bedroom, mounted at foot of bed and it is dark and no possibility of glare, so I cant speak on if it would be diminished by light. Turn of the Auto motion plus if you dont want the soap opera effect, it looks ok on sitcoms but is terrible on movies.
