My wife and I purchased the Samsung Q70 Television and it's definitely a cut above the rest. The price was reasonable, the set up was simple and the picture and sound are out of this world. The Samsung Q70 covers all of the bases: movies, streaming, gaming it does it all. The Q series is worth every penny.

    Great sub for an OLED

Since I cant afford an OLED this was a great sub. It has amazing blacks and separation of contrast. No over glow into black spaces and stunning color and picture detail. Sadly this takes a LONG time to configure. You can look at websites the give you optimal settings for the picture control but I am still fiddling with it and not going to pay someone to come and set it up for me. Its amazing for PS4 Pro and even blu ray disks look better. Netflix and Disney plus, Hulu and Vudu 4K HDR looks great but I dont have a 4K blu ray player yet so I cant speak to that. I do believe it will be even better with one though because the bit rate is much higher than compressed streaming services so mentioning that and comparing those streaming videos It must be amazing. Simply because the only 4K HDR native content I have is the PS4 pro and its stunning!

I have been looking to replace an older Sony 4K TV for some time and have been looking at QLED and OLED. I watched a lot of side by side reviews of the two and went with the QLED because the overall picture quality was close, edge would go to the OLED, but the price difference could not justify the OLED. The Q70R picture is bright, beautiful rich colors, and watching 4K content is stunning. I bought the Q70R at a great price of $999. The Q70R has a full back light array which a feature now Samsung downgraded the newer Q70T to only dual back light array. On the 2020 models you have to move up to the Q80T to get this feature and that will cost you around $750 more for a 65 inch. If you are looking for a great looking TV and want to save money and still get high end features, buy this 65 inch Q70R. You won't be disappointed.

I had been waiting and waiting for a 4k TV to get into a reasonable price range that had all of the specs that I wanted. Well after a couple of years of waiting, price watching and researching, that TV for me is the Samsung Q70R 65". On a whim a few weeks earlier, I had picked up a Vizio M Series 65" that I will say had a nice picture, but the motion rating was too weak and really didn't make it enjoyable to watch anything on it. It was also only $899, so I should have known better. Anyways, I really got serious with researching the 65" 4k TV's for the past few months and everything that I was looking for in a 4k TV kept pointing me back to the Samsung Q Series TV's. The main usage of this TV is for streaming movies and TV shows on our Fire Stick 4k along with Xbox One X and PS4 gaming. The first thing I will say is that after a little bit of tweaking, the gaming looks and plays amazing on this TV. However, 1 word of advice for the Xbox One X gamers out there: Make sure you plug the HDMI from your Xbox directly into the HDMI on the TV. If you try to run it through the ARC HDMI port on the receiver and the TV, it will look very good, however, your HDR and a lot of your 4k enhancements will not translate over, unless it is plugged directly from your console to the TV. Hopefully this is something that will be addressed on the next Xbox. You can then run an Optical cable from the TV to your receiver if you want the sound to play through your receiver still. It won't be HD but it will still sound great. Just make sure you go to the menu on the TV and select the Optical sound option for the sound playback and you will be all set. Sorry for the explanation, but I had to figure this out on my own, so just trying to help out. Back to the TV. The 4k content I have watched on this TV is breathtaking. The amount of detail you notice is amazing. The only options I have really had to tinker with, have been the Judder and motion Blur sliders. Once you get them where you want, the experience is top notch. The other thing I have noticed is how decent the speakers are on this TV. I have it located in a basement that is about 20 x 13 and if I wanted to, I could get away with the TV speakers alone. The only thing missing is the bass you get from an external subwoofer. There maybe other TV's out there with better pictures, but I am not complaining at all about this one. The other thing to note, is that as far as I could tell in my researching for my 4k TV, is that the QLED Samsung TV's are the only TV's that I am aware of that do not allow screen burn in. This was something that is a noted issue on the OLED TV's. Since we do a lot of gaming in our house, the burn in was definitely a concern. All in all, I have to say that so far, this TV has far exceeded my expectations. And when the price dropped by $700, I knew it was time to take the plunge and boy am I glad I did.

I asked my wife to go with me to choose a new tv. She refused so my 13 year old son came instead. We looked at the club versions first and came here second. We compared 8K, q80, q70 and q60. Planned on a 55" and he chose a 65". 8k was 1st but could we justify the extra to upscale for years, no. We compared for 10 minutes. The q80 and q70 were close across many types of shows and events. The q60 was 3rd. He chose the q70 and me the q60. The q70 went home. 2nd qled at home. Went on sale 2 days later for a 350.00 decrease and another visit. Too bad they had no 7.1.2 Samsung in stock or on sale. I can wait. Very pleased with the tv, apps Vibrant color and handled fast gaming excellent. The streamed 4k shows are greatly improved. Need a q90 7.1.2 surround to finish the room. Mounting on the wall really helped.

    World Class QLED TV

The setup of this TV was so quick and easy. My family was ready to gather round and experience this amazing TV in less than 30 minutes. The Colors, Blacks, and Contrast on this Qled is amazing. I previously had a 4K television and it was dull compared to this TV. We mostly use to stream Netflix and Gaming. This smart TV adjust mode automatically based on what we are watching to either game mode, movie, standard, etc... This is a great feature and offers quick access to whatever entertainment we want without adjusting settings every time. I love the slim look and cord management allowing all cords to tuck into the grooves in the TV and route through the feet, keeping my console clean. Overall I give this TV a 10 of 10 stars as this is the best TV experience I have ever had.

Great picture quality and good overall features. Went to the store prior to purchasing to compare picture quality and features between the different Samsung models. Decided this was the best overall match for our family at a price that was pretty reasonable. Didn't notice at first that the HDMI port with ARC was port #4 and not port #1 like I would have expected. Once we discovered that we were able to get everything working with our multimedia receiver, speakers, Harmony remote, Alexa controls, etc. Had to add a few steps to the power up sequence from the Harmony remote and now working as expected. Also appreciated the refund a week later when the TV went on sale with a further discount. Best Buy was easy to work with getting the refund.

Just have it up and running for a few days, but excellent so far. Picture is great - nice and bright and vibrant color. Excellent middle-of-the-road price point on this model. Not outrageously priced, but very good for the quality. The set up was easy and it integrates seamlessly with our other devices (i.e. directv box, etc.) Only downfall so far, is, like ALL the new tvs, you need a sound bar. The picture and size of all the new tvs have forced the speakers to the back and sacrificed sound as a result. So, yes, prices have gone down to affordable, but figure in that you will need a several hundred dollar sound bar to get any good sound at all out of them.

We had a top of the line Samsung 8500 55" from 2015 that was great for its' time. This model, although isn't their top of the line model, blows away that 8500 in nearly every feature (the only thing it doesn't do is 3D). The picture quality is so much sharper with much better contrast due to the QLED being back lit, not side lit. The UI is much friendlier, and has intuitive features that are surprisingly very good. It's only flaw would be the remote which is typically the bane of any Samsung TV. They over simplify the remotes always leaving you wishing there were more buttons, but it works well for what it is. Overall I highly recommend this model.

(If anyone needs a good calibration setting, just mention my name on comments and I'll try to help). It's an amazing TV. Freesync alone is what makes it amazing. Input lag for games is very low. HDR games on Xbox one X looks spectacular. It's also FALD panel so no edge light bleeding issues. Q80R is over 600 bucks more and yet you barely get any advantages over this one. RRatings.com is where I go for research. For $1500, you can't beat this deal, considering it's 65 inch, HDR10, Freesync, FALD, and a pretty fast processor. Ambient is really pretty but you won't really use it that much. If you don't wanna spend over 2000 for a good tv and stuck between Q80 and q70, definitely go with q70. It's the best bang for buck kinda deal. Oh btw, viewing angles aren't as bad as edge lit TV's, plus who watches TV from an angle anyways? Lol

This TV replaced a 12 year old Samsung 40" which still works but we wanted to upgrade. The picture on the QLED is great! Even watching older movies makes you feel like you are right in the scene. My only complaint is the glare during the day (which I believe is inherent with LED). We are thinking about wall mounting it which will allow us to shift the screen down and eliminate the glare. The TV is easy to use and ours is connected to an older BOSE surround sound system which works fine. The menu response is quick and all apps load fast.

Great TV, but Samsung is own worst enemy

My belief is that when it comes to watching programs/movies, televisions are now ahead of the content they show. The TV is able to convey more detail than is available in the broadcasts/streams. Knowing this, I held off on replacing my 11 year old Sony XBR5. It was big enough (at 52") and good enough that I didn't think a new 4k TV would look better. It's only real limitation was that it wasn't a smart TV. After setting up this Samsung Q70 TV and tweaking it a bit, I can say that I was both right and wrong in my thinking. I was right that there is no meaningful 4k entertainment content available to watch but I was wrong in thinking that the TV could not make sub 4k content look amazing. We have two 4k channels available on DirecTV and they require extra setup from DirecTV and only show occasional good content. However, standard HD content upscaling works great in this television and blows away what was a top of the line (almost $4000 in 2008) Sony that I thought still looked great. Also, Xbox One 4k games...especially those like the Forza series and Red Dead Redemption 2 are just so vivid and look so much better than the 1080p I had enjoyed up till now. You could not have convinced me beforehand that there would be such a difference, but now there is no going back. So, from a picture quality and even sound standpoint, this is clearly a 5 star set and at the sale price at time of purchase is a good value, too. However, I've given this 4 stars because of a couple of operational annoyances. These are really annoying, but since they represent a small portion of the television use, I won't drop more than one star as a result. First is that the TV is very picky about playing video files. It will play AVI files if the sun and moon align and the content is exactly in the narrow band of creation (resolution, compression, etc.) it supports. Of the 200 or so files I have on my network that I could play with my old Firestick, it seems like about 10 will play natively on the TV. So, the solution would seem to be a video app and Samsung does support Plex. The only problem with that, for me at least, is that Plex sucks. If only the Tizen OS could use VLC, all would be well here, but, alas, it can't. In a related vein, my second complaint is that the app offering, while fairly complete, is still missing some needed apps and also the ability to disable apps you don't want/need. This is similar to bloatware on phones. My third complaint, and it's by far the biggest issue I have with the TV, is the remote control and how the television integration works. And to be clear, it's not necessarily with the remote control itself that I have a problem; it's the utter lack of instructions in it's use. The Samsung universal remote that comes with this TV and most of the QLED smart TV's in the 2019 lineup is pretty amazing. With only a dozen buttons, a voice control mic, and a directional pad, it pretty much will do anything that a 50+ button remote can with not only my STB but also Blu-ray player, AV receiver, and connected devices. However, try to find detail about how it works and you will be looking a while...I am still looking. As a result, most people will set the TV up and then use their favorite Harmony or other remote instead of the remote that ships with the TV. And that's a shame. I could give you examples, but I won't as this review is long enough already. Suffice to say that it's like buying a Galaxy smart phone and be told that all you could do is make phone calls with it. This remote can do almost everything, but you only know the very basic from Samsung's info. Wrapping this up, I am very happy with the television performance and very frustrated that Samsung only shows you a portion of what it (and the remote) can do.

Likes: - the size duh - very easy tutorial setup (but you do have to create a Samsumng account - 4 HDMI inputs so no longer have to use a switcher - the cable routing in the stand and on the back of the TV - When you switch sources it will actual turn on you other source automatically - great sound Dislikes: Only one and this applies to every flat panel I've purchased since day one. The reds are blazing hot every single time whats up with that. Search online for some recommended settings then tweaked as needed. We are enjoying this TV very much so far so good.

In interest of full disclosure, a lot of my happiness comes from scoring an AMAZING open box deal on this TV. That said, OMG it's so good. Long story shorter, after our 2016 (yea, I know... not long) Samsung 55" 4k TV somewhat died, I did a ton of research on 65" 4k TVs in my budget and decided the Hisense H8F was the one for us. I have to say, for the money the picture was incredible. Maybe even drop the "for the money" part. It was a fantastic looking 4k screen but that's where the good news stops. On day 1 we had issues with it not wanting to turn on. Add to that sluggish native apps and OS and we decided to return it. We almost just swapped it for another H8F but the Magnolia guy I talked to said they were having an incredible sale on some of their demo units. Incredible was an understatement. I honestly was REALLY scared of another Samsung since our last one seemed to die really quickly but I did some quick research while I was on speaker with the store and saw the Q70 had amazing reviews and was a step (or three) up from the H8F. Since I couldn't go in the store to even see this TV, I had to make a decision on specs and the word of the sales guy alone. I took the plunge having been talked into just getting geek squad coverage to ease my mind about the open box. The great news is that we didn't have to assemble it :) Once we got the TV home and unwrapped the bubble wrap it was pristine and the setup could not have been smoother. Having just been watching another TV a couple hours earlier, the difference was very noticeable. First the OS was much snappier. I guess I am in the minority when it comes to TV OS's because I never liked the Samsung interface. Well, times have changed and the subtle differences between this one and the OS on our last Samsung made all the difference. We LOVE the guide built in and actually really like a lot of the "free" stations Samsung provides out of the box that I don't think we'd get otherwise. I would even say our happiness with some of the OS features would make us not really want anything but a Samsung going forward. The picture is also incredible. After some tweaking (though I don't really love the settings I found on Rtings... I prefer a brighter picture than they seem to like) it really shines. I have only had the TV for one day and I know really anything can go wrong but I feel confident with the protection plan I have that if it does, I'll at least just get a new version of the open box I bought. Highly recommend this TV (so far)!!!

I have been very happy with the tv. Quality picture, easy set up, and interface works fine. It does take a bit to get use to the remote, A few items in the interface are a bit confusing, and there is a bit of a learning curve. I did not have a smart TV previously. Connection to the internet is simple. Also connection with phone ( although rarely used). I had read it comes with 2 remotes- mine did not. So finding some channels on the cable app can be difficult. Otherwise, I am very happy with quality and ease. Note: two people needed for set up.

I came from a 1080p TV so I can't judge 4k TV too much but I absolutely love this thing. It is a solid beast with a back that I think is aluminum with 4 HDMI ports. Really easy to use the smart function as well as change settings on the fly. Paired instantly with my Samsung soundbar and it looks phenomenal. The HDR on this thing really kicks. My only small complaint is that the remote doesn't have any backlighting or lighting at all for that matter. But of course you can just get a new remote but for this price it should be included.

My 2 year old $3400 LG OLED had developed Burn in. I gave it away & went looking for a new TV. My daughter has 2 Samsung 65 inch & they look great. So I went to best buy website & others to review the new TV's. Decided on a Samsung QLED 60R 65 inch. But when I got to the store was informed about the QLED 70R 65 inch. I bought the it & my daughter & I got it home & put it up. The picture out of the box is awesome. The picture quality has gotten so good now there is no better TV. It is what fits your needs. Don't want to worry about gaming lag or burn in, than QLED is you choice.

Great TV! Just like most, had to tweak the settings to make the best picture for my room lighting. Picture is fantastic! Blacks and local dimming much better than my last TV. Love that you can pair BT headphones for late night viewing. Gaming features on the TV are great. Cons include a little more glare than my last Samsung, but seldom notice. Also, Samsung has plenty of apps available, but not DC Universe yet. Final con is stubborn Samsung not supporting Dolby Vision, only HDR plus. Dolby Vision has more support.
