I purchased the Samsung 870 EVO 1TB SATA SSD to replace an aging mechanical hard drive, and the improvement was immediate. Installation was straightforward, and Samsung’s Magician software made it easy to verify the drive’s health and optimize performance. From a technical standpoint, the drive consistently delivers performance near the limits of the SATA III interface, with sequential read speeds up to 560 MB/s and write speeds up to 530 MB/s. System boot times, application launches, and file transfers are significantly faster, while multitasking feels much more responsive.

It's a nice roomy SSD that's fast, easy to install, and does it's job. This is the 3rd Evo I have, the other two are still in use & running strong for a few years now.

Boot times went from over a minute to under 15 seconds, and apps like Chrome, Photoshop, and even games load much faster now. The install was super easy—just a SATA cable and some cloning software (Samsung’s free Data Migration tool worked great). Speeds are excellent for a SATA drive—obviously not NVMe level, but still plenty fast for everyday use, gaming, and even light content creation. Reliability is a big reason I went with Samsung, and so far, it’s been rock solid with zero issues.

Bought this on short notice when an SSD failed on a computer. Intallation was a breeze. Performance is better than on the older SSD so booting is somewhat quicker. It's always a joy when you need to make an unexpected purchase and it is on sale! Thanks BB!

It was for my new Lenova Thinkpad so I didn't have such long boot times Pros the Samsung SSD was nicely packaged and came with a card that shows you how to download the Magick software if you want to see everything. The SSD came out of the box and went straight into the computer after I cloned the old HDD and it booted up extremely fast and the performance is amazing, I am very happy with the read and write times and it is 1 TB sonI will have plenty of storage. I am very happy with it after over a month of use Cons None at all this SSD is top of the line and I have no complaints

I bought this SSD specifically to expand the storage in my Eufy HomeBase 3, and so far it has been completely reliable. I spent a lot of time researching compatible drives before purchasing because I wanted something dependable that I could basically install and forget about. After using Samsung SSDs in computers over the years, this one felt like a safe choice, and it has absolutely lived up to that reputation. Installation into the HomeBase 3 was extremely simple. The drive slid right into place, mounted without any issues, and was recognized immediately by the system. I honestly expected there to be at least some sort of formatting or compatibility hiccup, but everything worked smoothly right out of the box. Within just a few minutes, the extra storage was available and recording properly. One thing I really appreciate is the peace of mind this drive provides. Since my Eufy system handles security cameras around my home, reliability matters much more to me than chasing benchmark numbers or squeezing out a few extra megabytes per second. I needed something stable that could handle continuous recording without random disconnects, errors, or overheating issues. This drive has done exactly that. Since installing it, I haven’t had a single issue with dropped footage, drive errors, or weird behavior from the HomeBase. It gives me significantly more recording space without going overboard on cost. Depending on your camera count and recording settings, this amount of storage can go a surprisingly long way. For me, it was the perfect middle ground between affordability and capacity. I also appreciate how mature SATA SSDs have become in general. They may not be as flashy as newer NVMe drives, but for devices like the Eufy HomeBase 3, a dependable SATA SSD honestly makes a lot of sense. They are proven, stable, and easy to work with. Overall, this has been exactly the kind of upgrade I was hoping for. Simple installation, excellent compatibility with the Eufy HomeBase 3, reliable operation, and zero headaches since setup. Sometimes the best compliment you can give a storage device is that you completely forget about it because it just quietly works in the background every single day. Upgraded my 5 yr old HP laptop with a 1tb sata spin drive to this ssd drive. I bought a Sabrent usb 3 to sata housing to connect the evo drive to the laptop via usb so I could clone the existing drive to the new evo. Super simple and fast using Samsung’s software. Swapped drives after cloning and it booted right up. Went from a minimum of 5 minutes to boot and open web browser to under 30 seconds. Everything runs so fast now! Highly recommend going to a ssd for old computers.

Purchased to upgrade to newer hard drive for computer... Value and speed primary reason for purchase. Noticeable improvement in speed and storage... Works like a charm!

Was able to install and use Samsung hard drive swap software. Works great and boot speed on my PC is like new.

It's fast and reliable. Boot up time is very quick. The transfer process from old drive to this one was also very simple with no OS login issues. Needed the additional space so that gaming files could be kept on the main drive containing the OS. Sloppy programming on some games prohibited installing then on alternate drive locations.

I have been slowly changing older SSD to all Samsung SSD. This one is replacing a failed 500GB Crucial. The one issue with SSD I guess there is no warning. The crash was about at 5 years on 75% max filled drive and my first SSD that created pain. The Crucial would not repair so I did not clone as I usually do. Not having a cloned drive caused much pain. One just does not realized all the little apps that get accumulated even on a PC. I hope this Samsung gives some notice when it decides to fail but I am trying to stay under 50% to hopefully prolong life. I give it 5 starts not because anything special about this particular one but that my 2 other 870 EVO all seem to be doing well and 1 getting close to 5 year mark. Final note: Best Buy did do a price match with Amazon and there was a significant difference at the time which was a surprise. Usually they are pretty close, with Best Buy winning due to instant gratification. The match was an easier process than I expected.
