    Size really does matter

I've had my Galaxy Note 2 for about a month now and historically I have been an HTC/Sense guy for years, dating back to the HTC Touch. After a week or so fiddling with the options, I had the device functioning as I desired. A change from Sense to be sure, but with a few apps from the Play store, I was able to get things pretty close. Pros: Screen size. It's big. I was a little concerned that it would be TOO big at first, but that very quickly passed. For me, the screen size is perfect for web browsing and playing games. I've been using an EVO LTE for the last year and really liked it, but it looks positively tiny now compared to the Note 2. Battery life. Excellent. I can use the device all day long and still wind up at 40% at bedtime. Gaming and video are hard on the battery like on any other device. Processor speed/memory. Fast enough to handle anything I've thrown at it. Multitasks like a champ, and the split screen option is helpful. Cons: Audio. The external speaker is OK. Not great, but gets the job done. Placing it in a hard flat surface helps considerably of course. Tough to use one-handed. The size of the device makes it tricky to use one-handed, and I've had a few close calls with drops because the thing is just so darn huge that it's easy to fumble it. The ability to reach the capacitive buttons (and home button) on the face with your thumb while holding it is awkward and difficult. It really does require two hands to use effectively unless you are an NBA player. Want to text one-handed? Good luck with that. Overall, I really like the device and will have a lot of trouble ever going back to a smaller screen. Battery life, which can be a deal-breaker with a lot of devices, is fantastic. So far so good.

I couldn't put this phone down since I got it. Good thing it has a stellar battery life. It usually makes it 20 hours with fairly heavy use. The sound quality is outstanding. Its the most loudest and clearest speaker ive heard on a phone. Video quality is amazing. Games on here look better than ever. Just wish they had more games that utilized the quad core. Im happy with this purchase. Its a little expensive, but its worth it. Almost forgot to mention you can run it in multi window mode and run two apps at once. Check your email and your Facebook at the same time. You can also run a video in the background while doing other tasks. A true multi tasking phone!

Best Phone on the market for multi-taskers

When the Galaxy Note 2 was announced, I wasn't too interested in the phone simply due to the physical size dimensions being much larger than any other smartphone on the market. After Samsung opened a booth at one of my local malls, that had the phone on display, I changed my mind. While the original Note was much to large to be comfortable for daily use, the Note 2's dimensions were made to make the phone much more comfortable to hold. On top of that, the new additions to the S Note (e.g. integrated stylus pen), were amazing, as well as the software inclusions, such as multi-window multi-tasking, video preview, picture preview, email preview, and text message preview were all perfect for functions that are crucial for my day-to-day needs. If the size of the phone is too intimidating for people, but it's the only thing holding them back from getting the phone, I'd highly suggest reconsidering. This phone is by far the best phone on the market and will be for at least another 6 months. If you're looking for a phone that will last you at least another 2 years, without being outdated, this is the one to get, especially if you're a heavy multi-tasker. A combination of Android and Samsung's software provides for a great experience.

I upgraded from the galaxy S3 to this phone. I have only had it for a couple of days and its fantastic, its fast, its powerful. I havent had any lag on this phone despite the amount of apps I have piled on my note. Downloading is a breeze but unfortunately i have yet to experience the 4g on this phone as I live in an area that doesnt have 4g , I hear its blazing fast though. the size of the note to me is not a deal breaker and I have small hands and find it comfortable to hold. Bottom line is this phone lives up to the hype, Im glad I chose this phone over the iphone5 and the windows 8 phone. Best decision ever!

This is a great phone, more of a mini computer than just a phone. Awesome sized screen, and it's fast, fast ,fast! It is not, as the "know it all" reviewers ALWAYS say...too large. Once you start using it , all the others are too small. It seems normal to me after only a month or so of use. The S-Pen is cool, but I've only used it to jot notes on the back of photos, which is actually quite useful. The "hand motions" are way cool, some more useful than others...I can't wait for it to be updated with even more. The screen is gorgeous, and it feels good in my hand, pretty light and solid, battery life is extreme,S-voice works better than I was led to believe. In conclusion,I highly recommend it, and don't listen to all those "know it all's"...go check it out yourself, you'll be glad you did.

Great phone and tablet in one. This is upgrade from old HTC EVO 4G so there are so many great things such as faster processing on everything you do even with muti-tasking, benefits of s-pen, many camera function, don't forget the battery life and many more to list. Price is little high end but if you search onlie or promo frequently, you'll get a good deal. And if you're planing to use it for next 1.5 years to 2 years, it's worth it. Size is up to individual but it is perfect for me. Big enough to see/read better than most smart phones yet small enough to carry easier than most tablets and I can only carry this one phone to do both! Only issue (and this is major) is that I'm with Sprint... They're re-working on their towers since almost 1 year ago to improve LTE + phone quality but still having drop calls and spotty 4G LTE & slow 3G services place to place around Chicago + suburbs. Hopefully, service should be stable soon. This is for the review of phone not the carrier. Overall, it's definitely a great phone to have.

I was a little worried about the size because my hands are small, but after the first day, I love the big screen. I didn't think that I was going to use the S pen often, but I have been using it a lot. Great camera options and picture quality. Good sound. Fantastic battery life!

Samsung did not scrimp on the internal components of this phone. The radio and antenna are high quality. You can always get on the internet through your data plan or via wi-fi. The phone connection is excellent with clear communication from both caller and receiver. The display screen is high resolution which is always clear, scatch free and easy to read. You can have multiple screens as well as multiple apps open at once-very functional. The quad 4 processor makes any function on the Galaxy Note II very fast. The batery life is very good with 1-2 days of use before a charge is needed. You will not be disappointed if you chose to purchase this phone.

I recently moved from an iPhone 4 to the Samsung Note II. I did this because I primarily use my phone for email, and wanted a big screen to aid in reading. I also planned on using the browser more with a bigger screen. Thus far I am very happy with the Note II. Emails are very easy to read on the screen, and I use it often. I especially like it when I am in 4G areas, as the speed is very fast. Battery life has been very good - I charge the phone every 2-3 days. The phone is easy to use - very similar UI to the iPhone.

I've owned a lot of phones and this is by far the best. The phone size might scare some people 5.5" screen. But once you get used to it you'll never want to go back. Excellent for pictures, you tube, movies etc. I'm a heavy phone user my last phone was a galaxy s 2 I used to charge the phone at least twice a day. This phone easily goes the whole day. By the way it's good for making phone call and testing too.

As a phone, the Note II is a bit on the large side compared to other phones out there, but that size proves a bonus if you enjoy multimedia applications such as watching videos and movies or even thumbing through pictures. I love the shutter speed of its camera and the rapid shot option is pretty neat, though I can see it filling your memory up with a lot of pics you don't really need or want. As the name implies, the large screen also proves handy for jotting down notes or reading on text-based applications. Me, I watch Netflix on my phone almost nightly, read e-books on the Kindle app regularly, and keep many inventories and lists on my smartphone, so I'm loving the larger phone/screen. Problems I've experienced: the wi-fi seems to turn itself on, even after I've turned it off, which can be a problem when you KNOW you can get a faster download over your network than you can from an on and off again wi-fi signal. If Wi-fi is on but the source is too weak to use, the phone will try to use that signal and usually time out without switching to a more reliable network source. Also, my sales rep touted its ability to run multiple apps at once, which is true. But as far as I've been able to tell, a very limited number of apps can be added to the multi-app bar. I have yet to find one of my downloaded programs that can be added.

The best smart phone I have ever seen. My wife and I have had EVO's (which I still love), iPhones, black berries, etc. They can not come close to this phone. Some of them might have 1 or 2 things that I would like better, but nothing that is as complete of a package as this phone. I have used it pretty heavily for 3 days and not had to charge the phone. Very intuitve actions. Just plain AWESOME!

I use my device for viewing a lot of spreadsheets on the road and so the large screen was a huge plus for me. I use a Blue ant Bluetooth device so the size does not create a problem when using as a phone. Great camera and stylus. I would recommend to anyone who is on the road as much as I am. I do advise a spare battery if using more than 8 hours.

This phone runs circles around the iPhone. the processor is super fast. There are so many functions that allows you to do unthinkable things that are not available with other devices. The S-voice has a cool sense of humor. The Camera, the sound, the size the functions are crisp, sharp and really taking android to whole another level. And I am really glad that I took that leap into the Galaxy Note II. I didn't think that I could learn all it's functions but with the help of just playing with it, reading the manual and YouTube. It will open your eyes to the wonders of this device. And with the addition of the S-Pen, wow that really let's you really cool stuff as well.

All in all I love this phone. It is easy to use, although I know it does a lot more than I have explored in the short time I've had it. S-Note is a great feature. I have only scratched the surface of this. Music Square doesn't seem to work for me and after researching it that seems to be true for most people. The music quality is very good. The phone just randomly turned off and wouldn't turn on again. I discovered that if you take the battery out and put it back in quickly it turns back on. It is hard to see in bright sunlight but the rest of the time the screen is awesome! There is plenty of room for apps on the screens. I love that the things I use all the time are at the bottom of every screen. My old phone ran out of memory and I had to dump most of my apps. There is plenty of built in memory plus I added a 16 gig memory card and have barely scratched the surface space wise.

I absolutely love this phone. The size did take a little getting used to, but the phone fits comfortably in my shirt or jeans pocket. With practice, I've even gotten very good at one-handed operation; though my large hands help. The screen is big and beautiful, which makes the phone ideal for in-car navigation. I'd have trouble going back to anything smaller. The Galaxy S3, which I thought was big before, looks small compared to this thing, and the iPhone is laughable. I very rarely use the stylus, just because I like to avoid two handed operation. Battery life is great with usually 20-40% left when I go to bed. Screen is starting to show a few hairline scratches.

I love the fact that this phone is large because I can see better and the s pen its a very cool feature makes everything so much easier. I love that I can do almost everything on my phone and I don't have to use my computer. And to top everything the battery life is amazing. I don't have to charge my phone for 2 days...and if I'm listening to music or watching videos I would have to charge it but its still lasts the whole day.

I gave up smart phones for two years just to see if I could do it. When I decided to re-enter the tech era I studied up and knew I didn't want a little itty bitty phone. I wanted a beast with lots of memory that I could whip out and blam! My last smartphone was a Samsung and the brand is sweet. And then the love of my life was created into the Note II. It's my everything...camera, video, ereader, music player, movie player, computer and guess what...That's right boys and girls I can see the screen. And its beautiful! Go get a Note II

This phone is excellent. The features, power, and processing speed are incredibly fast. To maximize battery life, decrease the amount of accounts you have synced on the account. You can disable it in the settings under accounts. I also recommend getting a task killer and battery saver app. In addition, disable apps from running in the background by also going into settings, application manager. Samsung has improved the build quality with this new batch (June 2013 models) as I notice a difference in screen quality and the phone doesn't have the plastic build as the critics have been mentioning.
