I bought this smartphone unlocked for myself and got to say that this is one amazing phone. It’s incredibly fast and holds 64GB which is a good amount of storage. I also love the design and the camera takes very nice pictures and is water resistant which is very convenient.

Waited 2 years for a good android phone - Worth it

In 2015 I got a Nexus 6P - hands down the best Android experience I ever had till then. I started looking for a new phone in the last quarter of 2016 - Pixel was great but they made it expensive, Note 7 was a threat to the human race, after using Galaxy S3 I'm not a big fan of the Samsung bloatware and felt the S7/S7 plus to be in the similar shades. I decided to stick with my 6P for another year and exactly after 6 months issues started popping up - Battery not holding the power more than half day, Headphone port stopped working, Bluetooth wouldn't connect anymore. I started looking for a new phone in mid 2017 and considered many options - KeyOne, LG V20, OnePlus 5, etc. But the day I saw the S8 on display I knew what I wanted. Everything about this phone is great so far. Battery life - Moderate use - One whole day Connectivity issues - None Display - Absolutely stunning! Always on display is brilliant. HD videos in 18.5:9 aspect ratio is an experience you never get bored of. Design - Sleek! Perfect! Even if you are trying to use just one hand. Fingerprint sensor's placement might result in smudgy camera during the initial week or so but you will get used to it. Responsiveness- Great! Bixby - Not a fan of it but the new feature to disable the bixby button helps a little bit. Would be cooler if we can assign it as a short cut to other feature/app. Android update: Still at 7.0. Need a faster release of the updates. Price: Expensive but Best Buy's $150 off helped a little bit. Overall, it has been an amazing experience so far.

I purchased this for my wife as an upgrade to her old S5, and she can't say enough nice things about it. She's into photography and loves the camera that this phone has to offer, the battery life has been terrific, and the speed of the processor is phenomenal.

It has been exactly a week since I purchased this phone and I must say that this is the best phone I have ever had. Picture quality is amazing, battery lasts so long that I can go a day and a half without charging it. It is so sleek and fits my hand comfortably. I am still exploring it but for now I would say Samsung really went all out with the S8. I have used the S3 and my last phone before this purchase was the S5. I can therefore confidently say that the S8 is the best in the galaxy series yet. I have no regrets at all with this purchase!

I have been using galaxy phones for a while. S3, S5, S7 edge and now S8. S8 has the best camera i have seen in a while on phones and feels sleeker and easy to use with one hand than s7 edge. Love the end to end screen and expanded internal memory.

I've been using this phone for about two months now. It's noticeably faster than my previous Galaxy s6, with substantially greater battery life, better fingerprint reader, faster charge (USB Type-C), and an amazing display. My only complaint is the speaker volume; if using the speaker on the phone, I have to have the volume near the maximum or at the maximum.

I've been really pleased with the Samsung S8. After the initial learning curve, I've enjoyed using it. The best has been the camera - takes really sharp pictures...way better than my last. Also like the speed on access of apps. I would recommed.

I've owned several phones and have equally enjoyed Android and iOS devices. This takes the cake at this point. I feel the camera and screen combo have an edge over the iPhone 8. Battery life is never an issue and reception has been solid.

This phone, like all android devices, is easy to navigate. The screen resolution is perfect for gaming or watching video. The most important feature to me is the camera and the S8 doesn't disappoint. I've taken over 1000 pictures, with little to no editing. The only drawback is Bixby. Never use it. Google assist much more user friendly.

Replaced GS5, great battery life, great video & camera. Unlocked without AT&T bloatware is awesome. Already received OS update (despite what other reviewers say) so the sale on the unlocked version made it even better. Came in looking for the GS8 Active & left with the unlocked GS8, no regrets

Probably the best phone on the market. Did a lot of research on different phones, from iPhone to multiple Android devices. Galaxy S8 won hands down. And getting an unlocked Galaxy S8 for almost half price, even better.

So I bought this phone as an open box. I did not expect any real issues as it looked like it was fairly untouched. I am not sure how it was an opened box since it was not clear that it was ever used. I made the mistake of not testing every feature and had to send the phone to Samsung as the Bet Buy return period had expired. The microphone on the phone itself was not working. I should have realized it when it was having issues setting up Bixby. I only used bluetooth devices to talk on the phone and not the actual mic of the phone. When I finally received a call and was not on my earbuds the person said there was really bad background noise. Long story short, the service from the Samsung rep at Best Buy was great and when I had to send back to Samsung they did not give me any grief. The only thing is that the information/status from Samsung was not very good even though I have an account that shows all my registered phones and the service ticket was not attached to the corresponding phone. The phone itself is great, fast and feature "full." The screen is awesome and the software does help tech-dumb people like me.

This was a really good deal for an unlocked phone I did allot of research before buying the samsung galaxy S8 from Best Buy. It wasn't the cheapest price I found however when it comes to making a large purchase I always take reputation, return policy, and purchasing options into consideration. The phone is fantastic my son loves it. With technology being so advanced on flagship phones is safe to say that performance isn't an issue for the average user. The phone feels solid I the hand and the display is beautiful, and the fact that I could buy it unlocked for the price was Hugh. Wireless fast charging works great although there is a natural tendency to just plug it in. This is an item I would definitely recommend purchasing from best buy.

I was an Iphone 5s owner for the past 3 years until my battery finally went downhill after the latest update. I began researching the s8/s8+ and other Android phones because I wanted to switch from Apple. I decided on the s8 because it's of its sleek look, excellent parts, and the fact the it was the perfect size for me. Additionally, I got $150 off the unlocked phone during the black Friday sale. The size of the phone is a significant upgrade for me while being comfortable enough to carry in my front pocket. The best way to decide if this phone is right for you is to watch extensive reviews online and to try it out for yourself in a Best Buy store. I would recommend a decent case for grip because the s8 alone is pretty slippery.

I'll start off by saying that this is an absolutely great phone. The camera, both front and rear camera take extremely crisp photos. The phone is zippy for day to day tasks. The battery life is ok when you leave the screen resolution at the default FHD+ but if you put it up to the native resolution the battery life is not all that great. Now I said the phone was zippy but there are times you notice some lag and frame drops. This is mostly because the Samsung experience has so many things running in the background that it just bogs down the performance sometimes. For some people all the extra features that Samsung packs in is great. But for me I didn't need all the extras I'm more of a close to stock android type of guy. One thing that I'm sure a lot of people will appreciate is Samsung pay. It works great at all terminals even ones that haven't been updated for mobile payments which is absolutely fantastic. So to sum up this is a great phone for majority of people and they'll be extremely satisfied with it. But ultimately I ended up returning the phone.

Pretty solid performance with the occasional hiccup. Camera is great. As typical with Samsung devices, the display is really good. Overall a great phone. Pros: No carrier bloatware taking up your phones memory. Water proofing AKG headphones are pretty good compared to head phones you get in other phone boxes. 64gb internal storage gives you a lot of room to work with. You wont get the full 64gb out the box, but it still works. Micro-SD cad expansion in case you need more than 64gb of storage. Wireless charging is very convenient. Usually snappy performance thanks to newest processor. Great display Good camera USB-C Overall great design Iris scanner works most of the time. I use it more than the horribly placed fingerprint scanner. Since the phone is unlocked, it should support most if not all major US carriers and their prepaid variants. Cons: Horribly placed fingerprint scanner Comes with Android 7.0 and not 7.1. Android 7.1 introduces better battery enhancements and app shortcuts among other things. Samsung also has a horrible track record with fast updates. Speaking of track records with software updates, last years unlocked S7 was among the last to be updated in the states when it should have been among the first. Hopefully this model doesn't suffer the same fate as last years. As normal, Samsung puts the speaker at the bottom of the phone. It is pretty easy to cover the speaker and muffle the sound. It can get loud, but is cancelled out by how easy it is to cover the speaker. Even though I mentioned the display as a positive, it is also a negative. Due to the bigger screen size and a different aspect ratio, video in apps will have black bars on the side. For some this may not be a big deal. Certain apps will allow you to resize the video, but it will cut parts of the video off the screen. Will need to wait for apps and content to be updated for the new aspect ratio. If you are the kind of person who puts a tempered glass screen protector on your phones, look really hard for a good one. It is harder to make tempered glass screen protectors for devices with a curved screen like this one. Also be careful of a case you use with a potential glass screen protector. Due to the curved screen and glass protector, certain cases may push up on the protector and cause it to bubble or be removed from the screen entirely.
