This is the best smartphone available in the market, period. It's unlocked and works great with my wireless carrier. The design is superb, I really like the curved glass and the impressive screen.

The past couple of phones I have purchased have all been Samsung products that I have purchased directly from Verizon Wireless stores. While I love the phones I hated the amount of extra apps they came with that you couldn't remove. Half of the things that came pre-installed were never things that I would use! So this time I opted for an unlocked phone and couldn't be happier. The only complaint I had was the sales person at Best Buy never told me that I'd need to get a new SIM card from Verizon in order to use the phone (the one that was in my Galaxy S5 does not fit into the Galaxy S8) so I was unable to use my phone right away. But other than that it's great!

This Samsung Galaxy S8 is by far one of the best phones I've ever owned. It's fast and sleek and is very responsive to the touch. If you 're an Android fan this phone is a must have.

First let me say that after Apple refused to cooperate with the Feds as they investigated the terrible San Bernadino terrorist attack, I made a promise to never buy an Apple product again. That said, as a former Apple phone advocate I have nonetheless had my eye on Samsung cell phones for some time now. I finally made the switch by buying an unlocked S8 and I am very pleased with my new phone so far. It's an elegant design, east-to-use footprint and runs the Android platform just fine. Actually, I'm beginning to further appreciate the Android world as I no longer am handcuffed by the Apple IOS and its rigid platform. Android is much more flexible and configurable...which I really find refreshing. Further, my Norton anti-virus suite (and Lookout) is fully compatible with the S8's android OS to protect my privacy and insure against nasty intruders. After making a few initial tweaks to break loose of the handcuffed Apple IOS world---like allowing cross platform text messaging, for example, I have been very pleased with the Android world and the Samsung S8. If you're on the fence about leaving the Apple IOS platform and are not afraid of taking advantage of Google's flexible cell phone Android OS architecture ----- then take the leap. I happy that I did and hope that you will be as well, should you decide to make the change.

Picked it up on Black Friday for a good deal. So far it works great. It’s an upgrade to my old iPhone 6S. Camera is beautiful and it’s very fast. I definitely recommend it.

This is one of the best android phone out there with cutting edge technology like bezel free screen, Iris Scan technology, faceID scanner and good battery life. Best buy had a good deal of saving $150 for buying this phone unlocked compare to carrier phones. Highly recommend to people who are worried about android phones draining lot of battery and needs to charge android phone all the time. I can easily get a full day worth of battery life on performance mode and more than 1.5 days with Mid level battery saving mode. The fast charging technology is the best feature, recharging the 100% battery in 1.5hour.

I purchased the Galaxy S8 to replace a Galaxy Note II that died unexpectedly. I needed an unlocked phone that I could use on my StraightTalk account (using the ATT network). The deceased Note is my base line for comparison. First, the good stuff; * Like the old Note, the display is beautiful. Resolution is sharp and colors are vivid. * The S8 seems to pull in cell and data network signals much better than the Note. LTE might be old hat for most, but for me, it is a huge improvement over 3G. * The battery performance has been good so far. Since it is not user replaceable though, I hold some concern as to how it will behave after a couple of years of use. * The camera is fantastic. I've used it for stills and 4K video and have been impressed. I've always wanted a tag-along camera option for the times I don't want to lug the SLR around. The S8 fills this need very well. Resolution and sharpness are fantastic. Exposures and HDR handling are remarkable. I just wish I could access RAW image data as well as the fantastic JPEGs the camera cranks out. Things that were a bit of an annoyance - but were expected and workable; * The S8 requires a micro SIM. I could not transfer my mini SIM from the Note. That required an extra day of downtime for the phone while I waited for delivery of a new SIM. * The interface is still something I'm getting used to. I've spent a lot of time trying to find out how to adjust settings on the S8 for which I knew exactly where to go on the Note. Things I didn't like so much; * The screen aspect ratio doesn't feel right. Portrait mode displays seem too narrow and landscape mode seems cropped vertically. * I'm not a fan of the curved edge that eliminates a border around the screen presentation. Just grasping the phone sometimes results in unwanted clicks. * The screen sensitivity doesn't seem consistent. Sometimes I have to do multiple presses before it registers and sometimes it picks up an accidental contact as a click. * I miss the mail app that was on the Note. There are some functions I used to use regularly (collapse/select a day's worth of email and mark as "read") that seem to be absent on the new phone. * I'm puzzled by Bixby. It doesn't seem to do anything useful for me and it monopolizes a hardware button on the side of the phone that could be useful for something else. * I miss the stylus of the Note series. If I had had the luxury of time to replace my phone, I probably would have waited for the Note 8. Alas, that was not an option for me. Still, in the long run, I fully expect the S8 will prove itself to be the best of the choices available.

The good: * Great battery life, even with the clock showing in the display all the time. * Great display, the AMOLED is crystal clear. * Fast, much faster than my old S6 The bad: * Bixby. It keeps being in the way. The only question that I want to ask it is how to disable it, which it does not know. SAMSUNG, please remove this feature and allow the Google Assistant to take its role.

First and foremost, I wanted a phone that takes good indoor photos, and the S8 definitely fills the bill. Great screen quality and no-lag overall performance. A little slippery and (I'm told) easy to break, so I got a case and it's all good. Was a little overwhelmed at first with all the bells & whistles on the home screen and edges -- was always accidentally doing things I didn't want to. So I temporarily used Nova launcher and switched back & forth until I got used to Touchwiz. I did have to turn off the Bixby screen that you get by default with a swipe from the left edge. Drove me crazy!

Obviously the screen is great, camera takes nice photos too. I also like the iris scan for security. I wear contacts, did not take them out to "register" my iris and regardless of whether or not I have them in, the phone quickly recognizes me and opens. It's not able to with glasses, but just take them off pre-scan. I rarely wear glasses so it's not a big deal for me. I like Bixby, it can do all kinds of things but i don't care for the button placement on the phone or for the fact that I have to hold it down the whole time while giving instructions. I wish it would start taking commands from a single press. Battery life isn't great - I have to charge every evening as soon as I get home. Overall, I like the galaxy S8. Mine is an unlocked phone, so I can use it with any carrier I want and it didn't come preloaded with a bunch of worthless apps.

I like this phone a lot. It's not perfect, but it is everything I need and then some. I've been using it for almost a week, and so far am very pleased. The display is easy to read and well defined. It is quite fast and keeps up with my apps well. Call/sound quality is good, I have had problems hearing on some of my previous devices, but no problem with the S8. One will probably want a protective case, it's a shame to cover up the phone's good looks, but it can feel a bit slippery, and dropping it unprotected would not be a good thing... I have tried the biometric face and iris identification unlock methods, they work if the lighting is right. It's seems a little tricky remembering to put on or take off glasses, etc., so I like the fingerprint method the best. The fingerprint reader is a little inconvenient, but I have learned to work with it. And, of course there's still PIN or pattern unlocking. I won't go into the few things I don't like, simply because I think once I get past the inevitable learning curve, most of them will not be an issue. It's a little pricey, but for the features including 64GB built-in storage, it's not out of line. I have added a micro-SD card for more photo storage. Just like any smart phone or computer, it comes with its share of bloatware, so have spent some time disabling/deleting/changing settings - par for the course. If you're considering a new Android device, it's definitely work a look!

I was the fence about it. I hated not having the home buttons, taller phone, seemed it wouldn't be able to last longer than a week with me. I am the worst with phones. I've had longer than week. It's still in perfect condition. Loving the camera, screen is perfect for movies and games, easy to customize and the earphones that come with it was my favorite thing. It's not the rubbery covering but a nylon cover so it does pull on my hair. I love it. Good pick for me.

Bought this Samsung S8 to replace an lg g3 that all of a sudden started saying sd card was unexpectedly removed numerous times a day. I had a Samsung phone before and I should have stayed with it. I love the ease of using my new phone and the curved glass. It has more options then my old phone. Every one at Best Buy was very help full. They had all my photos, contacts, messages, E- Mail's transferred in a matter of minutes. The camera is outstanding and with the curved screen makes everything look totally different from other phones. Will stay with Samsung from now on.
